  2. Alright, just a quick merger of some ideas, and to get a feel for if we want to start it now. Semi-competitive assymetrical 4v4 to 6v6 map: Theme: Space Station, with a ship being built or destroyed attached. Focal Features: Zero gravity area similar to Condemned or Anchor 9 between parts of the ship and the station. Gametypes: Undertermined at present time.
  3. Response to the OP: I agree, the bans have gotten more serious since Halo 3, but Halo 4's ban system is much more generous to players than in Reach. In Reach, if it blackscreened lagged out, you were booted, or quit within half hour, you got banned for an hour, and then the bans were cumulative in that day. Frankly, I have had major connection problems recently and have quit many games in a row. I have received 2 bans in Halo 4. Both after quitng 4 games in a row (come on, join in progress in a slayer game with 5 kills left and I'm Ion the losing team) I play with friends who repeatedly quit, and do not get banned. I find it hard to believe that you were banned for the above reasons. You may have had multiple games you quit in a row, plus additional behavior (ie betrayal and being booted) to have been banned.

  5. I am really, dumbfounded, no one had correctly answered the second puzzle until today. Jl1223 solved it one way. The other way is to tape the sides of the paper together in a tube shape and attempt it, drawing on the back as well. It really took a lot of brainpower. It may just save your life, or save you from serious injuries. The Puzzle: Suppose you are on an elevator on the 16th floor of a building, when the cable holding the elevator breaks. As you plummet toward the ground, you recall that you once heard that by jumping up fast at the instant of impact, you can escape death. You also recall that the floors are twelve feet apart and that the acceleration of a falling object is 32 feet per second squared. When should you jump?

  7. I enjoy jumping into the fray to save an objective, somehow kill four of them, save the objective, and miraculously live. Best when instead of reloading halfway though, you pick up one of their guns and turn it on them. I also enjoy placing a frag just right and then picking off the easy jump headshot around the corner.

  9. I'm sorry, but it is most likely your disc. I have had this problem many times, and have found a way around it. Basically, over the past couple of years, game discs have not had as much protection put on them, making them easier to scratch and make unreadable (aka more replacement profits). I have tried the following method multiple times, and had success each time on step 2. I have done it with Halo:Reach, multiple Transformers games, a Lego game, and a variety of sports games. Before you do anything more, try the following (note, I am talking about Halo 4 disc 1, not the second disc): 1. Borrow the game disc from a friend that is not experiencing problems. Use their disc, and see if the same problems emerge. If the problems emerge, then it is most likely your Xbox, and you need to get it fixed. If there are no problems, it is your disc that is the problem. 2. If it turns out to be your disc, download the disc (your friend's disc) onto your Xbox. There is a way to do this, I have forgotten the exact location on the dashboard to start this. This process will download a copy of the game onto your Xbox. This will be the playing disc, not the second disc you have already downloaded. After completion, your Xbox will have the game on your Xbox, but will need the game's disc in to play it. Try to use your own disc now. If it works, then you have fixed your problem. 3. If this does not work, you will need to replace your disc. My suggestion, find a local store that rents games and just swap out the discs. This does not work for barcoded discs, but is better than paying for the full game again. If you want to pay for a whole new copy, go ahead. I hope this helps, if you have any questions, I will be happy to help.

      Upstream providers are the companies i buy internet from for the servers. So kinda like your regular home ISP but a little more complex. Seems one of there routers was randomly dropping packets from certain connections but should all be fixed now.

  11. The maps for each map pack are in almost every playlist, however, all members in a match must have that map pack to have the chance for the maps to appear. It is hard to do, but if you find yourself joining a game mid-way through on a map from a map pack, stay. Typically once people get to that stage they try to stay on the map packs. Soon there will be the DLC only playlist, where you can expect all of the map packs to be playable on a regular basis. Currently Castle is availible in its own playlist, but that will change.
  12. Just a few of my own suggestions/ideas: 1. Competitive, asymmetrical map focused on 1 Flag -CTF and Extraction. Major aspects: ghosts, a scorpian, and high passageways. UNSC buildings/natural mixture. 10-16 players 2. Symmertrical Competitive 4v4 map focusing on oddball and KOTH. 3 main floors, with a plethora of tact-jumps in the middle for easy transition 3. Attempt at making an assault gametype and an urban themed BTB map to go with it. 4. Assymetrical competitive dominion/CTF map with a port theme 5. Semi-Symmetrical 4v4 competitive map, with a Drydock theme. Ship is being repaired and has 3 levels. Additional connections between levels on the outside of the ship, like catwalks. 6. Free-roam flood map similar to Boardwalk in Halo Reach 7. Map inspired by Epitaph from Halo 3 8. small map meant for 2v2's. Forerunner themed 9. Narrows-like KOTH or EXtraction map

  15. Community Forge Project – Idea Discussion Here we can discuss generic map ideas for possible projects. This is meant to be a “Brain dump,” where we get some ideas onto the table and merge, refine, and discuss those ideas. Basic layouts or sketches on this page are fine, but detailed plans are asked to be postponed until the community wants to pursue further development for the map. Once an idea or set of ideas becomes popular, and the community decides to pursue designing and forging of the map, a new thread will be formed specifically for the map. There the ideas of the map will be posted and members can begin to true design and then forge the map. Please, no bashing of other’s ideas. Try to suggest refinements, offer positive criticism, and help the project generate good ideas. You may find many people agree to a set of ideas you do not like all that much. Do not be discouraged. Hopefully, many projects can be carried out simultaneously, and you can find out you would enjoy to partake in. Basic Suggestions for Generating Ideas: Consider player count, teams, and focus gametypes Consider how you want it to play (ie relaxed, social, or competitive) Structures, map flow, tac- jumps, size of map Map theme (ie Covenant shipyard, Human construction site, Forerunner, etc) Other ideas….     Because of the rate of fire with the carbine, it would be op. It would basically put a dmr with the rate of fire of a pistol into SWAT. Not the best idea.
  19. Big Team Battle apparently. I'm always in the top players, but I am still surprised, I don't play it that much.

  21. Take the high ground, but not the ground everyone goes for. Pick up the BR, sniper rifle, or carbine and go there. For example, on Epitaph, everyone flows to the two opposite ends or the middle. My suggestion, get up on the jump up to the rockets, but not on that platform. (ie the inside stair cases where you jump up to it) You have a decent view on about half the map, and you have height advantage over anyone coming through the middle. You will pretty much always have 1 or 2 shots on someone before they see you. Plus if you go down the stairs, there is two spike grenades, enjoy!
