The death of Halo is so close. It barely competes with the top 5 online games anymore. Microsoft is just speeding up the process.

Their announcements are horrible in my opinion. They've sabotaged themselves at every turn. And buying a console for just one game doesn't make sense to me either so...

In a shock move Sony has announced during its E3 press conference that Zenimax Online’s The Elder Scrolls Online is heading to PlayStation 4.
Bethesda’s title was originally slated as a PC exclusive, but will now be making the move to PlayStation 4 in Spring 2014. There will also be an exclusive beta for PlayStation 4 players.
Bethesda’s Pete Hines has took to Twitter since this announcement to confirm that the game is also coming to Xbox One.

They only had online passes to get a profit on used games more. But now with the new game policy on used games, their is no need for online pass. EA wants you to think their doing something good for the gaming community. Nice try EA.

In its first day of sales, Halo 4 amassed $220 million worldwide. But in the past 6 months most of the original players have jumped ship, leaving Halo 4 with fewer players now than Halo Reach had half a year into its own life cycle according to a recent case study by Raptr.
In an effort to boost the amount of players, 343 Industries developed a series of 10 weekly episodes collectively known as Spartan Ops. While the content was meant to add more story beyond the main campaign to entice players to keep playing, the series has not aided the developer as much as it had hoped. But unlike Halo 4’s solid review scores, the extra content was not received as well.
Part of the problem is the inconsistency in the quality and breadth of the Spartan Ops episodes. Not enough original content was created in the making of the maps and missions are too repetitive to garner replay.
While the sales of Halo 4 were impressive, keeping players entertained enough to continue playing the multiplayer and purchasing DLC long after beating the game is crucial to keeping a title in the public’s interest. Particularly with the used game debates on full blast, keeping a title from getting traded in or sold or put aside means that it is up to the developer to give gamers a solid reason to come back for more.
It has not been announced if a second season of Spartan Ops will be made. Perhaps if the studio follows our recommendations, 343 Industries could bring in more players.

The way I see it the problem isn't the consoles it's the industry as a whole. Video games aren't regarded as art because in most cases they are created as a product not as a form of expression which is what art is. In my opinion we don't need a new console yet it is much to early. All that is going to change will be the graphics and we will get some nice TV/Netflix kind of stuff. Sony is marketing towards a video game audience only because Microsoft is marketing towards the Netflix/Youtube crowd. I don't plan on buying a new console there are plenty of old games out there that will entertain me for at least another decade.
Also a good idea. I mean for the first 4 years at least their gonna make all the games for new and old generation consoles. So no rush really.

Not to sound like a downer but 343 probably goes through tens to hundreds of game ideas a day. Chances of you getting noticed are extremely low. But best of luck to you.

Ahh, so you wanna it placed during one of the 4 older games that were out and not after Halo 3?
What if they put it at the time between 3 and 4 and you had like a free mode to go around space and discover new planets and stuff? Maybe new species?

I'm instantly addicted to any Sci-fi games that come out.
Being an RPG with customizable gameplay just makes it so much better.
Can't wait for this game. Easily game of the year material from what I've heard. -
