Do you want another reason to scream George Lucas’ name while you shake your fist at the heavens? Of course you do. Luckily, there is now an hour long gameplay video of Star Wars: Battlefront III. Remember, one of the best selling and highest rated Star Wars game series of all time? Unfortunately, Lucasarts pulled the plug on the newest installment some time ago. The gameplay footage is from an earlier build, but still enough to stir up a twinkle in this fan-boy’s eyes. The video is plagued with choppy animations, terrible frame-rates, and enough bloom to make J.J Abrams blush, but what makes me cringe the most is the lingering odor of potential. Flying seems to be integral now instead of a tacky add-on, maps are larger and objectives more varied. The developers could have also had the chance to iron out the bugs that severely hurt the first two games. Battlefront III had all the makings of a great game, a blockbuster, which leads me to question why it was cancelled in the first place. Maybe George Lucas has developed a crippling fear of doing anything Star Wars fans would appreciate. The Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled gamers are allowed to resell the digital content they purchased. Publishers will not be able to stop consumers from selling their downloadable games, in Europe anyway. Since this isn't a US Court, we won't see direct results here in America but this does set a precedent. The ruling specifically says, "An author of software cannot oppose the resale of his 'used' licenses allowing the use of his programs downloaded from the internet." The court also added the exclusive right of distribution is "exhausted on its first sale". Regardless of EULAs, gamers in European Union states are allowed to sell games from Steam, Origin, or a similar service. This ruling pretty much goes against everything publishers want. Publishers here in America frequently speak out against stores like GameStop who allow gamers to resell their games. Do you think we'll see a similar ruling here in the states? Yesterday on Halo Waypoint, 343 Industries revealed the latest map addition to Halo 4‘s multiplayer mode: The snow-covered stage known as Longbow. Basic details: Name: LONGBOW Location: Northern regions of the planet Concord. Description: Located in the northern polar region of the planet Concord, the frigid climate and unique gravitational conditions provide an optimal perch for Longbow Station’s channel-based mass drivers. Before the Covenant War, the UEG launched deep space monitoring relays from here in an effort to study far-flung star systems. As the Waypoint posting notes, there’s a long tradition of snowy stages in the Halo franchise—and that’s something I’ve always loved. I don’t know what it is, but game words that remind me of a winter wonderland have always held a special place in my heart. (Especially now that I’m living out here in California, where we don’t get a flake of snow all year long.) 343 says that the goal of Longbow was to create “a playspace that showcases one of our new (and unannounced) game modes”. Hmm. It’s also noted that Longbow will mostly be a mid-to-long range map, one with support for both on-foot and vehicular action.

I was debating making a 1000th post thread, because I really didn't know what to say for reaching this mark. So I'm just gonna say that I love this community and it doesn't look like I'm leaving anytime soon. Hope everybody enjoys their time here as much as I do.
