Heard from the 343 Sparkast #12 (sometime around 30 minutes in) podcast. There will be a new(old) weapon in the game formerly called the assault carbine. It will apparently have a new title but that hasn't been mentioned as of yet. Anyway it has been described to have the characteristics of and old weapon we know that was good at "mangling" an opponent's shields. So, now instead of being a "depleater", it will be a "finisher".
To me this sounds very much like it could be a remake of the SMG. Thoughts anyone?
I'd personally love if it came back, especially if it was more useful like it was in halo 2.
I think there is already a thread on this. Isn't theater mode enough? (Yes you would have to pay extra for a capture card) I think that editing an entire machinima with an xbox controller would be difficult.
In Halo: Glasslands (novel) there were still some brutes that stayed loyal to the elites.
I used to love ripping up the enemy team on sandtrap with the chopper. I was a great counter to the warthog.
I am a fan true to the BR, and if it is true that DMR is better long range, AR better short, and BR right in the middle, I think it makes the perfect weapon.
DMR may be good for countering snipers however.
I didn't say it was greater than forge world, just personally I liked it the most. I think it is a bit overwhelming to really use the power that forge world gives you.
Don't worry though I don't think we should revert to halo 3 forge!
I'm fine to wait and see how all the new features turn out, even though I am a little apprehensive to accept them.
But the big thing I can not let sit until the game comes out (In which time it may be too late!) is the fact that I very
much want the halo 3 ranking system to come back. I have a very good reason to worry since it was not in reach
and they are yet to have mention of such a system in 4 (there is still plenty of time for that thankfully).
