Everywhere I look, On random forums, servers, etc. People argue on master chief's color. Green, Drab, Sage,
Olive, etc
Why do people argue like this? The evidence is in the Halo games themselves!
HALO 1 (2001):
People couldn't find his color and GREEN was to bright, Sage was too dark but sage worked out
back then.
This is where the misconception started a those who couldn't find his campaign color chose sage for multiplayer and so, the
rumor spread .
(MASTER CHIEF: Don't get any funny ideas!)
HALO 2 (2004):
After playing a bit of campaign, people went to multi-player and customized their spartan/elite, as there were more colors, Millions of Halo fans discovered that he is indeed OLIVE once they chose it just to see how it looks. Before you knew it, people on Slayer were Olive instead of sage/green.
(MASTER GUNS: Optics, totally fried, and let's not even talk about the power supply. You know how expensive this gear
is son?
MASTER CHIEF: Tell that to the Covenant.
LATER//
CORTANA: You look nice!
(Same time)
CHIEF: Thanks
Sgt JOHNSON: Thank you (Both look at each other))
HALO 3 (2007):
Looking at the campaign, he was a bit darker but not dark enough to be sage. When customizing your spartan, the same color for the suit was listed as "Olive" in the settings (As it was). Master chief's suit burned slightly as he was falling at the beginning, SHADING the suit, not BLENDING it.
(CORPSMAN: His armor's in lock-down, Gel-layer took most of the impact. But I don't know Sargent Major(About his condition)).
HALO 4 by "343 Industries", (NOV/2012):
There are so many talks and previews and trailers on Youtube, his color is like that of Halo 1/2, Not dark enough to be Sage, not light enough to be Drab or Green, So therefore he is "OLIVE" as he always was, Not to mention the Amazingly beautiful reflective chrome surface (His Gel-Layer must have been restored).
PS: Bungie no longer makes halo but i believe they may assist 343 Industries in future.
Conclusion:
So Basically, Master Chief -As A Fact- is OLIVE Because Bungie showed us in Halo 2 and 3, and yet, the Misconception about him being green, sage and drab continues to cause arguments.
Why can't we all just look at the evidence in the Halo 2 and 3 games and come to a conclusion that after ALL this time, after ALL these years, that the guy is Olive?
