  1. I would say that there is a good potential chance. If they released Half Life 3 as a launch title for the Steambox then I know people (myself included) that would practically buy the thing for that reason alone. I think that sometimes people forget how long of a void there has been since the last Half Life game. It is certainly withing reason of belief to assume that a title could be prepared in time.
  2. I think that part of what he is saying is that a lot of the universe secrets require you to leave the game and thus loose immersion. There are many examples of games out there that are just riddled with cool clues, references, and foreshadowing for an observant player to catch onto. Halo 5 could be drastically improved by doing that.
  3. I imagine that they would start all level 130's out with a blank XP bar. It would make sense though. Imagine if you were 130 with 200 more spartan ranks worth of XP and you leveled up all the way to the new cap immediately.. you wouldn't get to partake in any of the joys of leveling anymore.

  5. Yeah I don't think that AD could have put it any better. I see people all of the time with a very unrealistic, almost excessively fan-boy, views on Halo 4. In response to Caboose the Aces comment, If that's the case then it doesn't say a whole lot as for how much Halo has improved in this transition. Also in the business world (the world that 343i is in) giving it your best isn't worth anything if consumers aren't happy. Anybody can say that they will do better in Halo 5... but that doesn't really cut it. People expect them to achieve that greatness in Halo 4, and rightfully so considering the money and loyalty they have invested into the franchise and will put into future games. Just my two cents.
  6. Apparently this is what happens when you get past a killionare
  7. That's the Piston Xi3 not the official Valve Steambox.
  8. I don't think that post was as harsh as you think it was Really looking forward to Custom Game Night this Friday
  9. Congratz on that shiny new green name. Even though you don't need it, there isn't a person I can think of that deserves it more. Looking forward to joining up with your party on Friday and seeing what these Custom games are all about
  10. Nope. A Ghost and Warthog can use their agility and speed to escape enemy fire even when they traverse the map all of the way into the enemy base. The Wraith and Scorpion both have enough firepower as well as durability (wraith also has speed) to keep opponents under such distress that they cannot effectively attack the vehicle. The Mantis is the one exception to this rule. The mantis lacks the speed to strafe or escape enemy fire... and doesn't have the long distance firepower to suppress the enemies. Due to the way that it fires the Wraith could be used pretty well as a support vehicle as it's tough to use at incredibly long distances... but the Scorpion is a killing machine. One could say that the Wraith and Scorpion need two people to be at full power... but when you examine the situation closely you should see that they need 2 people to be at around 85% power. Considering the advantage these two vehicles have against the mantis in the majority of situations this is a negligible disadvantage.
  11. I'm on the last stage of Regicide.
  12. ~ Roam in the shoutbox and ask for an invite. I'm positive at least someone from the playdate will be there. I know I was the whole last one. ~ Send a message to AD or whoever else is hosting asking for an invite. Either way I'm positive that the Community343 GT wasn't full as of yesterday. Perhaps it would be good to go through and remove inactive/banned members. Up to the staff to decide what to do there obviously.
  13. Send a FR to Community343 and be online in Halo 3 when the playdate is scheduled to start. Adversely you could probably also hang out in the shoutbox and get someone in the playdate to invite you or send a message to the host asking for an invite.
  14. Isn't Hacksaw a very fast mission? I think that that one might be the fastest.
  15. Well you could have made a serious argument for a little deal between the companies. Given Bungies history with Halo and how they handed of the torch to 343i it could possibly have been made to work. I don't see why Halo 4 needed the old score though (aside from a few songs). Most of the new ones have that same epic feel anyway. I'm not trying to say that the music was better than the old Halos (It wasn't) but that's not to say something new isn't a good thing. With all that being said there were a few songs that are a huge part of halo. Like this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om0M6Ol8FjQ Wouldn't be disappointed to see that one return one day
  16. The balancing present for the Mantis is actually very well done and interesting to look at. The Mantis is not a serious power vehicle unlike some people seem to think. That is why if you take your Mantis anywhere close to midfield on Ragnarok it will likely be killed in a few seconds. Instead the Mantis is actually a support vehicle. With an arm mounted machine gun, semi-automatic rocket launcher, and deadly ground pound this may seem hard to imagine but it is the truth. The Mantis in all of it's full glory is reduced to a mere support role. Here's why. ~ Chainguns aren't accurate enough to reliably rack up kill unless in close distances. ~ When in close distances you are vulnerable to EMPs, Grenades, hijacking, and ordinance weapons. ~ Rockets Aren't quick enough to take out vehicles at long range with any sort of frequency. ~ Warthogs, Mongooses, Ghosts, and Banshees all have the mobility and agility to escape the Mantis. So when you look at it the Mantis isn't really able to get in a position where it is able to rack up a good amount of kills without putting itself at a serious risk. The result of that is to just hang back with the Mantis and put damage on enemies wherever you can for teammates to rack up the easy assist, but mostly to be a prominent threat on the otherside of the hill (I assume we are talking about Ragnarok) to where the enemies cannot invade without taking the Mantis out first.
  17. Well it sucks to see you go... but life comes first and you gotta do what you gotta do
  18. Scarab gun was designed. Glitches are by definition unintentional.
  19. I just remember the massive amount of derankers and modders that would always water down the ranking system. In all honesty though I think that any horizontally based system is better than the linear system we have now.
