  1. Yes, in that opening cinematic it seemed (at least to me) that the shadow man was trying to discover the secret of Hasley's success with her spartan-II program. In that sense I get a feeling that 343 industries is trying to set up a potential human antagonist as well as set up the foundation to include more spartans (the real ones) to the story.
  2. I've got to warn you before you attempt this. You can't remove the waypoint on the Last man standing anymore.
  3. You missed the biggest change in terms of humor... Grunts no longer say funny stuff even with the IWHBYD skull on.
  4. The first time I nailed the Ascension superbounce to the top of the sniper tower in Halo 2. It's strange to me that my most fond memory of any Halo game was a serious game design flaw on Bungies part... lol.
  5. While this topic has been very heated in the past there is no reason that it has to be so now. Try to discuss things nicely.
  6. Not the way they have the objectives playlists set up right now. Headhunter would have to have it's own playlist and that's way overkill considering the popularity of the gametype. However I am fairly indifferent to including Headhunter were they to combine all the other objectives gametypes into one large Team Objectives playlist. Headhunter is an idea with quite a lot of potential. I think that in order to reach all of that potential they need to design forge maps just for Headhunter though.
  7. If 343 industries really wants to try and appeal to the casual crowd, which every decision they have made leads me to believe, then they should.
  8. They will in time I am sure. I think that it would be insanely cool if they gave us a preview of the map in a Spartan Ops mission.
  9. Welcome to the forums What to do here = talk about Halo and enjoy the community
  10. If this were to happen then I do not know which playlist I would frequent in (probably both). Since there is a seemingly large demand for such a playlist I believe that it would be in 343 industries best interest to implement this idea.
  11. Yeah... The "Win 9 games of Capture the Flag" was kind of insane. If you like CTF then you can probably do it but it will take way too much effort to be worth the reward. If you dislike CTF (or whatever the gametype is) then there is no incentive to hop in there and give it a try which frequently happened with me in Reach.
  12. Alright I'm going to do a little math and throw some numbers and approximations around to try and prove my point. I'll be using the Spartan Ops level Shootout in the Valhalla and BTB as bases. At around level 36 you get 5950 XP for completing Shootout w/ 4 people over Xbox Live. It takes about 15 minutes. In my experience I get on average about 2350 XP per match of BTB on any map (which I'll roughly estimate takes 10 minutes). Not including challenges and commendations for either. Why is there such a big difference between the two game-types. If anything I believe that Spartan Ops should give slightly less than that gained from War Games. With these current numbers it benefits people who play Spartan Ops instead of multiplayer in the same way that it did in Firefight for Halo Reach. However since the levels gained from increased XP are used to unlock items that are considerably more beneficial when versing the skilled players of Multiplayer Matchmaking... Playing War Games should at least be equally helpful in leveling up and being able to access these newer and greater items. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Spartan Ops is really more about the storytelling to me and I find that the increased XP gained makes it more or less an XP farming lobby now. Perhaps they should alter the way they do Spartan Ops XP so that people would continue to play it and enjoy it's story in all it's wonderful greatness... still get a more than adequate amount of XP... and not unfairly hinder the people who prefer to play War Games as opposed to Spartan Ops. To do this I suggest that they should increase the XP output for the first time you play a specific Spartan Ops mission by 75% and decrease the XP each additional time by 50% That way it would attract people to play it that one initial time and then it gives a lower XP output than War Games. That would be 10412 XP for the initial match and then 2975 XP per each additional play-through. Here would be the math on the additional play-throughs compared to a standard War Games BTB match. Once again I will assume that the standard time to complete a BTB match is 10 minutes and the standard for Shootout in the Valhalla is 15 minutes. (approximations) So with this setup it would draw people into the Spartan Ops storyline without causing them to stay to farm the XP and give them an advantage over people who only play War Games. It would allow Spartan Ops to function as a unique and powerful storytelling device while not causing it to become an XP farming technique.
  13. Woah... who would stay doing that for that long lol. I would have left after 2 times max. xD
  14. It's all about pathfinding I believe. Pathfinding is the process in which an AI determines where to move and how to move. It would be hell if you had to factor forge objects into the equation. Here's a cool little article about pathfinding in Halo 2. http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/halo2-ai4.htm
  15. I do hope so. It seems like a common sense thing to do. They can create this epic new remake game on one of the best games ever to be released in history, while using significantly less (but still a lot) resources to produce it. Everyone's happy. As much as I love Halo 3 I don't know that an anniversary game is necessary for it. Did you mean Halo 2?
  16. It doesn't require much. It's a skill that can get picked up in 1 or 2 games. DMR does need a nerf. It's kill time is too quick for a evenly skilled BR player to be competitive against it from any range not to mention the huge advantage the DMR has in being able to 4 shot enemies from across Ragnarok.
  17. 38 in BTB. I've had a 45 in SWAT but I don't count it because SWAT is so damn easy when your teammates quit.
  18. I don't see it happening. Everybody wanted it for Firefight in Reach after it's success in Halo ODST, but they couldn't implement it. I believe that they couldn't do it because of problems with AI path-finding. The same problems would prevent it here. I'm fairly certain that all of the Spartan Ops missions have paths designed around the forge objects so that is why it would work.
  19. Episode 1 - Chapter 5: The Cauldron Episode 2 - Chapter 5: Gargarin Episode 3 - Chapter 4: Shootout in Valhalla
  20. I'm thankful for my loving family. I'm thankful that I can live in a country where I can do what I want when I want with the most freedom of anywhere in the world. I'm thankful that there are people who risk their lives to protect American liberty so that great things like Thanksgiving feast and the NFL can exist. Happy belated thanksgiving all.
