  1. Welcome to the forums I don't know about your issue because I have yet to run across it or people that have had it but if there's a place that can help you fix that then that's this site.
  2. Today I finally bought Halo 4 and battled my way through the campaign. I believe that I may have came to a prediction important to the future of the Reclaimer Trilogy and Halo franchise. As we all know Cortana "dies" at the end of Halo 4. I believe that the next one or two parts on the franchise will be devoted to the recovery of Cortana, or the reclaiming of Cortana to her previous state before rampancy. I believe that with the information we have as well as the logic that I use to get my prediction supports this theory perfectly. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1. In order to establish the name of the trilogy (Reclaimer Trilogy) as a likely clue to the story of the trilogy as a whole I will go ahead and post the dictionary definition of the word reclaim below this in a quote box. Many people assume that the reference Reclaimer is simply referring to the 343 Guilty Spark originating name given to chief in the first three Halo games. They would be correct... except that I believe that it has a double meaning. This fits perfectly with the game situation. She has died and previously had a massive state of rampancy... should she be recovered and "healed" (more like fixed) then that would make Master Chief her reclaimer. 2. From a storytelling perspective it would be pure gold to have Master Chief go to all ends to rescue Cortana. Cortana and Chief have always had an inexplicable bond and having Chief save her would strengthen that bond tenfold. Also it would effectively be a futuristic video game version of Orpheus... a tried and true story and the kind that developers, writers, and artists aspire to. 3. Don't Make A Girl A Promise You Can't Keep... Last time Cortana said those words she was watching Chief fly away on a forerunner ship while she stayed behind on High Charity (coincidentally she was absent in most all of that game setting a precedent for 343i to follow). She figured Chief wouldn't be able to keep his promise and therefore said this. The situation was similar to the one she found herself in in Halo 4 when she said it. So there is another major precedent. It foreshadows (to me at least) Chief rising above the occasion and saving her against all odds. 4. There is still a vast and mysterious number of forerunners that we will likely come across in the rest of this trilogy. Even if you think that Cortana's fate is irreversable you'd likely be wrong. In Halo 4 we saw a forerunner that literally "force pulled" Master Chief. The ways of the Forerunner (potentially the Precursors and Prometheans as well) are largely unknown to us. Who's to say we won't run across one (I believe there is one called the Composer who creates life) who can bring back and fix Cortana. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So here is my logic as to why Cortana will be brought back in Halo 5. I have seen a lot of threads with titles like "OMG YOU TOOK CORTANA FROM US" so manybe this thread can ease the minds of some of those members.
  3. Welcome to the forums
  4. Yeah that's pretty much how I feel. Either DMR needs a nerf or BR needs a slight buff.

    DMR Nerf

First of all I have to say that I am overall amazed with the quality and enjoyment of War Games. I've enjoyed most all of the maps (favorite being Ragnarok) and am looking to play on all of the others in the near future. However I really must say that the DMR has wayyyyy too much range. I understand that it is supposed to be a long distance gun but the accuracy with which I am able to snipe people at incredible distances is astonishing. Then at closer distances I don't feel like it is all that much weaker when compared with the BR and Carbine. What are your guys thoughts on a potential DMR nerf.
  6. When a major game is released there is going to be people posting rant threads and people posting praise threads. Its just the way it's always going to be and always has been. No amount of these threads will have any impact on that.
  7. ... same with every other online video game. There are people that are just like this in the Halo franchise. It shouldn't have a large impact on how good a game is. I mean you can just mute them and then enjoy the game the same way you would if they weren't there.
  8. Yeah that's way to many playlist if you've organized them the way that I think you have. Perhaps you could crunch some of them down (BTB, Double Team, Triple Team, Lone Wolves) to where all of the gametypes are rotated within the same playlist. Otherwise I think that you have it nailed.
  9. Why are you still on this site for. I can understand one hate thread but 3... sounds kinda troll like to me.
  10. I guess I could help out a bit. Sound like some real dbags to me...
  11. I assume that that would be your best choice. However I would suggest consulting with more knowledgable people as well because I haven't been involved with anything relating to game design in a long time (never was very good at it myself) and don't want to send you on the wrong course.
  12. To become efficient enough at it to produce a game will take a little more time I must warn you. There's tons of popular scripting languages similar in structure but different in syntax. If you learn one then you won't have immense amounts of trouble going between one and the other. I'm pretty positive that the three most popular scripting languages out right now Java, C#, and C++ in order from most to least. Java doesn't really suit your purposes here but I will mention that it is a good thing to learn and will help with job security later in your life. C# doesn't really suit your needs here as well (I believe it is used for driver programming) I think for a PC indie game you would be fine learning C++ but I'd send a PM to our resident game design expert Twinreaper just to make sure. He's definately the one you want to get advice from on stuff like this.
