  1. No, I imagine that it will be like the auto-sentries that help you defend the pyramid on Halo 3's final level "Halo"
  2. Primary Weapons: You can start with BR, DMR, Carbine, Assault Rifle, and Storm Rifle. Secondary Weapons: You can start with Magnum and Plasma Pistol. Grenades: You can start with Frags, Plasmas, and Prometheans. Perks: You can have Thruster Pack, Hardlight Shield, Jetpack, Auto-sentry, and I think that Hologram was mentioned. Packages: You choose one and it helps you by befitting your specific playstyle. There is one called Firepower that allows for two primary weapons, one called resupply that allows you to pick grenades up, ect.
  3. Agreed. On such a large open map where there are teleporters, vehicles, and covered caves it is easy to T-Bone campers. I also have to give a shout-out to Countdown which can offer some very good tactical gameplay of a completely different type.
  4. Probably not as powerful as I'd like it to be. I heard that in Halo: CE the pistol was only as powerful as it was because of a bug in the game. When they reversed the magnum to it's crappy little self in Halo 2 I believe they meant for it to stay that way.
  5. How can you conclude that a very new company that has yet to release a game is better than one of the greatest video game developers of all time. From what we've seen it could go either way but in my opinion it will take way more than 1 decent game to win me over. No comment on how wrong this statement is. Perhaps there would be specific elements of it that might be missing, but to say they wouldn't exist is downright incorrect. Here's another way to think of it, since all literature spawns from other literature, I could say that If it weren't for Sanscript writing on stones many thousands of years ago, then Halo wouldn't exist. I believe that it is three to be exact, though they are all in prominent positions within the company.
  6. Not in any custom loadout? Maybe it was a game like shotty snipers or something? Anyway I'd love to see these screens. Link if you can please.
  7. BPR goes entirely off of K/D actually. A K/D of 2.0 or higher results in a BPR of 100 while a K/D of 1.0 results in a BPR of 50.
  8. Or just has the ability to retain lots of knowledge with near picture perfect detail.
  9. That is another thing. I find that the way they are structuring the grenades in Halo 4 to be a bit strange. You have the plasma grenade which is in a catagory of its own, and then you have the frag and promethean grenade which serve the same sort of [playstyle. Both wreck havoc to opponenets shield. I think that the only difference is that the Promethean Grenade has a hard radius of effect while the frag grenade is softer and less effective the further you are away from it. Because there is not enough difference I find myself believing that there is further differences between the two. Perhaps the Promethean Grenade has half the detonation time as the others or instantly detonates upon coming in contact with another enemy?
  10. Wait now I'm getting extremely confused. I thought it was confirmed in Halo 4 that you could only have the BR, DMR, Carbine, Assualt Rifle, and Storm Rifle as primary weapons in War Games loadouts. Where is everybody coming up with snipers, rockets, and shotguns? On a small side note you would also have to choose a grenade. As a BTB player I would have to go with the plasma nade for its anti-vehicle effectivness. However if the Promethean grenade was given a speedier detonation time than that might be more effective in an anti-vehicle role.
  11. Carbine and Plasma Pistol with Hardlight Shield. Until I see more footage of the three major precision weapons I will stick to the conclusion that the Carbine has the fastest kill times. This loadout is designed from a BTB perspective (my favorite playlist), so it will also feature the plasma pistol for use in disabling vehicles. Continuing with the theme of BTB I view the BTB as a possible asset for my play style. It will let you survive vehicle combat if used properly. Of course once new game footage is released and somebody examines it/does the math this is subject to change. Yes I know that 343industries has spent time since E3/RTX tweaking kill times... but this does not mean they are completely even yet. I do not think that they are going to let us start with shotgun right out of the spawn. That would be way OP in CQB prominent maps and promote camping in corners and such.
  12. I do not like this idea at all because rank doesn't really mean anything (whether it's reach system or trueskill). Now perhaps they could have a playlist for people that have all the loadout items unlocked or a playlist for the lowest of the lows so that they could be able to play without getting smacked around by more skilled players every game. Aside from that I do not see the point in giving playlists by ranks because ranks in the Halo series have always been largely flawed in determining a players skill. Therefore this would accomplish nothing to funnel the players in with similarly matched opponents.
  13. I sort of have to agree with a lot of people on this thread. You have regular grenades which serve to lower shields drastically and generally work in the same way ad the Promethean Grenade. Then you have the plasma pistol for using to stun vehicles. So what real void will the Promethean Grenade be filling. It will obviously be more powerful in terms of lowering a shield than a Frag grenade so I guess that is the thought process with it. Here's the way I see it working in Halo 4. The "O" represents the grenade and the numbers represent the damage (1 being the lowest and three removing all shields) Promethean Grenade Frag Grenade O --- 3 --- 3 --- 3 --- 3 O -- 5 -- 4 -- 3 -- 2 -- 1
  14. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty is easily my favorite RTS game.
  15. Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor.
  16. I do not know. But welcome back to the site. Judging by your sig you must be a really back in the day member.
  17. Well while I get what you are saying it takes less than a second to dispatch somebody with the noob combo. So if the noob fires first the player will be dead very very shortly after they recognize the situation.
  18. Yes but that would still be 1-3 noobular kills and the ability to pick up other fully charged plasma pistols from the large percentage of the population that will undoubtedly be using them.
  19. Meh, stupid deliberatly malicious people. Served no purpose but to cause stress for the staff over at THC.
  20. All I'm trying to say is that there will be a very VERY large problem in the majority of playlists if the Plasma Pistol is not nerfed drastically. It is a very effective anti-vehicle threat that when used in mass will make vehicles way less useful than it should be. In regular slayer gametypes people will strategically lurk with it and go for the easy noob combo kill. Neither of these options seem good to me and I think that the only solution is inconsistency or severe nerfing.
  21. The same reason a spartan super soldier would magically not be able to pick up grenades You can still get the From the Grave medal... It would just be far far rarer.
