  1. That would be cool. I'm trying to get my Wheelman commendation up for the Aviator BOND helmet, but I'm so sick of looking like a loser at the bottom of the BTB team with like 3 kills lol
  2. I honestly think bloom should be back, heaven forbid it added a bit of patience and skill to the game..
  3. I've trained my friend who doesn't have an Xbox... it wasn't like, he's now amazing at the game or anything, but he went from averaging about 5/19 k/d to about 1 or 2 positive, or even 1 or 2 negative.
  4. Idk about snipers, the sniper is so cheap in this game. I used to love snipers and all, but it shoots faster, not that bad recoil, can't see the bullet trail that easy, etc. I do have high hopes though.
  5. http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/Specializations There's more detailed sites out there that tell you exactly what you get from each mod, but wiki gives a broad description without too many spoilers or anything.
  6. I think if that happened, it should it be a separate gametype. Invasion was a lot of fun, so if they bring that back, it should be theeeee Invasion. Especially now with the whole mid-game joining thing.
  7. I guess I hear you. Idk, one perfection ranks you up to the next level. If you get 5 perfections, you might just master that one. That's a guess, but hey who knows I guess hah.
  8. I like them, and there's so many things they could do. Like for each weapon commendation you get to master, you can have that weapon as your nameplate. Still have the ones from playing older games, but have some unlocked via achievements, obtaining certain medals (like a perfection, or killionaire. This made me think of the collateral emblem from Call of Duty... but that's taking it a bit far lol), finding all terminals, doing a lot of Spartan Ops, etc.. Heck, even giving a "UNSC" or covie/promethean nameplate to those getting weapon mastery for their respective weapons. My ideas, anyway ^^
  9. Well I figured you were talking about nameplates and all, I had the Marathon one too. I was just wondering what the nameplates you saw looked like? Or where they were located? I'm kind of interested in this as well.
  10. Took my guest into a game of Regicide, same results. And yea, since Reach. I know, right? Sarcasm's just so great huh. No, didn't play 2, yea, played 3, big whoop. Sorry assassination animations weren't around then. Trolling? You're the one trying to prove an empty point. I'll correct my grammar. It is referred to as a "Beat down" if you tap the bumper, and an "assassination" if you hold it. Better for you? I'm sorry I obviously didn't make that clear enough.
  11. I know what I'm talking about. I've done this since Reach, and it is still this way in 4. I've even taken the next step, starting a custom game with a guest on another controller, just to test it. 10 times out of 10, it was a beat down. I tried right up next to the back, further away, moving up, down, left, right, everything. Heck, even if you tap it in mid-air, it will NOT be an assassination. And you were just talking about stealing an assassination being a very smart, competitive move. Now, you word it as "I would honestly laugh if I had the chance to take your kill." Yes, very smart indeed. Forget killing the people shooting at me, let's kill the one bound by another spartan's grip. BTW, win/loss isn't what it used to be. I don't know how many hopeless games I've joined into the middle of, just to be dealt a loss and 700 xp.
  12. Anytime I just tap right bumper instead of holding it, I get a beat down. So I'll stick to my former statement.
  13. In a competitive game, there wouldn't be an assassination. It would be a beat down, and they would carry on. If someone's assassinating, it's probably not a strategic takedown, they're doing it for fun. All you do by stealing it, is waste your time killing a person in the electric chair when you could be killing the other people around him.
  14. I hear you, trust me. I was a huge Reach fan. I feel like they've taken a step back. I still play the game, it's still kind of fun, just it could be so much better. That's the best way I can put it. No company will decide how the fans think of the game. Yea, a lot of people like the game, but there's been one heck of a lot of complaints. I agree, the campaign's amazing. The matchmaking? Not so amazing.
  15. Stealing an assassination is lame. I used to do it sometimes, because Yoink! was a great medal to hear when you felt like messing with people lol. Now I don't steal assassinations, I just start teabagging while they do it and teabag their dead bodies. Stealing assassinations are NOT necessary. You can't get yoinked, then be like "Oh thank you! I was holding him there just for you! Really glad I got that assist!" No, it's after they do that, you follow them around and betray them until you get kicked.
  16. The first Black Ops was a fail, so losing Halo players to Black Ops is just a slap in the face. People are voicing their opinions so they don't make the same mistake twice with the next Halo game, as this one can't get all that better.
  17. I'm not saying I want to boost, I'm saying I want to change my playstyle to get the visor quicker. Like the Protector helmet. I want that, but don't really like the assault rifle. I've been using the assault rifle a lot more often now though, and it's going up at a decent rate. I know they don't want us to get ALL of them right away, but if I set a goal and have a path to get it, then I can enjoy the game and work towards something at the same time.
  18. I don't think I've seen them either.. what symbols are you talking about? Like, design-wise or something.
  19. I agree with all but the ordinance thing. I do hate always being up against a power weapon, but I hate having a team of kids who wait by the sniper, banshee, rockets, splaser, etc., and I'm always stuck with a DMR and Magnum. I'm not saying that's bad, but the game gets a little old when you have a DMR and you're up against Rockets, SAWs, Snipers, etc.. It's also way too easy to use the DMR in this game. As for map rotation... well there's not very many maps, and half of them just aren't that great lol. BTB objective was always very fun.
  20. Well put. I'm not gonna give up on 4, but I've definitely thought this quite a lot actually. I do switch off between Reach and 4 now though.
  21. I hate to sound annoying, but a few things. "The gameplay is amazing" is an opinion, not a fact. Yea, I think it's fun and all, but it's still an opinion, and everyone's entitled to their own. I personally think there's a LOT that could be better. Spartan Ops I have to agree with cbr, is just a glorified firefight. Problem is, firefight was better. I think it's cool they tried doing a storyline to it, but if it's just a bunch of enemies getting killed, firefight was the way to go. The graphics... I don't agree. Yea, their more Halo 3-y-ish, but Reach was much more detailed. The sountrack is okay, but I HATE the very first music that plays. Everytime I turn the game on, I just start singing in the most annoying voice I can trying to mimic whatever she-banshee sang that intro. Glitches, I haven't found many, but who does find them in the first week? I've seen AWFUL games of Oddball where you glitch out of the map, and obviously you haven't played on Complex too much. If everyone just dropped a game when they didn't like it, Halo wouldn't have many players at all, just saying. It's called a community forum so people's voices can be heard. People like you need to stop telling people to shut up and quit. If they were your friends and they were annoying you, then yea that'd be fine. But this is a community forum, so if you don't like the complaining, "then don't read it."
  22. So I really want to get the Cyan visor, but it's taking sooooo long! I'm only at 3/5, 16 out of 90 kills for From the Brink. At this rate, I'll have it like, never lol. Any recommendations on how to get that up the fastest? The best idea I can come up with is throwing a pulse grenade at the ground between myself and an opponent to drop our shields, then punching them, but that doesn't sound like such a great idea lol.
  23. Most of Noble teams helmets, Reach EVA and Pilot, Mark V for sure, and those big bulky shoulders they had in Reach, those were fun. I also hear a lot of complaints about how gungnir looks in this game from friends, the dinosaur helmet as we called it, was pretty popular lol.
  24. Well, they certainly did listen to the community. A lot of people complained about Reach, so they tried going back a step back to what it was like in Halo 3. But being as they're the new owners of the franchise, they have to come out with a bang. Therefore, they added a whole new set of things trying to show people what they're made of. It's either you like it or you don't really, it's a hit and miss. But if they just made a Halo 3: Part 2, they probably wouldn't have such a big impact on their first game. If that makes sense... I hope it does haha
  25. Well if we're going realistic, we might as well add a kick to each gun, and make you aim down your sights when you shoot instead of holding it at your side basically. It's either bloom, or even more call of duty style gameplay. Personally, I'd prefer bloom. All it takes is a little patience, really, which is also what you'd need in a real gunfight. You make a good point, sorry. I guess it was a big change, and long-term halo fans certainly won't like all of them. Like Halo 4, you have the people who think it feels just like Halo 3, and the people who feel it feels like Call of Duty. I guess there's no way to appeal to all the fans out there, really.
