Sounds fun...but I don't think it'd be that popular.. It'd be a great way for people to get familiar with the boltshot though. Melee damage... I agree. It should be like that in normal SWAT, but whatever.

I have to disagree. Zero bloom, stickies staying on you after armor lock, those are all personal preferences. I was fine with it before. The game was better with bloom, imo. It took some skill. It was nice to play swat on Reach where it could take someone between 1-6 shots or something to get a headshot after shooting you in the body a few times or so. I can't say I like it any better in 4, where every killcam I see is a kid waving his thumbstick back and forth as fast as he can pulling the trigger til he gets a headshot with the BR. Can't say I agree...I do hate Solace. Well if you put it that way, look at the number of people playing 4 now. It's not very high either. Reach still had plenty of people after two years, no not as much as 3 or 2, but still had a good base. There are a lot of people that hated Reach, but I can assure you that there were a lot more that actually liked it.

The Bolt Shot envokes the same feelings of frustation as Armor Lock.
SkItZo1041 replied to Chris Hansen's topic in Halo 4
As an avid boltshot user, I agree that it is cheap. But it gives you a chance against people camping with shotguns, swords, etc.. By the same token, the fact that a secondary weapon overpowers a power weapon feels wrong. But if you think about it, it can be one of those specific situation weapons as well. If there's a lot of vehicles going around (like a banshee that seems to do nothing but spawn kill you,) you just spawn with a plasma pistol. Same token, if there's nothing but kids with CQC weapons or camping corners with rockets or something, your best chance is spawning with a boltshot. On another note, I thought Armor Lock was fine. If teammates killed you when they locked, I wouldn't consider that cheap, I consider that a team tactic. If they dropped your shields, turn and run or something. I'm not saying that because I used armor lock, I actually always used sprint or jetpack. Armor lock only when there were nothing but a ton of vehicles going around. The sticky thing is nbd, and even for the people who it was a big deal for, they released a title update, just for you. -
You're just one person, also voicing an opinion. He was one person voicing an opinion. If games didn't have fans voicing their opinions, they wouldn't evolve much. People didn't complain about MW2 that much, and that's why MW3 has almost no differences. According to you, CoD has copied Halo and other games, Halo hasn't copied anyone and is totally original. We could pull the same straw, and say Halo copied Doom, Duke Nukem, other 1st person shooters before it's time, but that's pretty lame. Every game has it's own unique characteristics, and you're entitled to your own opinion on what's best. If you don't like the way other people complain... maybe the internet isn't for you, no one's forcing you to read it.

I'm not rallying the troops for a revolution or anything haha. It's just a thought that crossed my mind when I read the topic.

Reach didn't go so bad actually, just with all the complaints it seemed bad. There were a good number of people who thought the game was just fine too. Same with 4 really. One thing that makes it feel less and less like Halo, is the scoring system imo. It's nice that assists count for something now, but to me it just takes away from traditional Halo feel. They have infinity slayer, why not add in some classic slayer? Just add in some gametypes to satisfy the Halo 3 fans, and the Reach fans. Limiting people to specific gametypes is pretty lame, but it's better than not giving them anything at all.

Always using either Promethean Vision or Hologram, preferably Hologram.

I used to love MW3, doesn't change my opinion on any Halo game. I find more campers in Reach and 4 than I did in MW3, because camping is just so much easier in Halo. The key factor? Shields. CoD you can chuck a semtex cross the map and get a revenge kill, or just 2-3 shots for a kill. Halo, you have to get a good second and a half of shooting in before they die (assuming you hit with all bullets) giving them a chance to run away, shoot back, etc.. There's a few things you can compare between Halo and CoD, just I don't believe that camping is one of them.

I've seen the sword and cannon spawn, that's no big deal. But the indicators without weapons... I experienced that earlier in Team Regicide too. The Sticky Detonator waypoint was there the entire game lol
-
...Yea. You can't tell how good a gametype is by custom games, everything's better in a custom game.
-
I hope they don't change his armor much... It's iconic. When most people think MC, they think of the green, Mark VI, not the guy behind it. Know what I mean?

I'm an avid Boltshot user myself, and I've taken out whole teams by using it. I'm not complaining that it's op, I use it all the time, and know that it's basically op. I've had my shields dropped, ran around a corner, and popped off each person trying to chase me one by one. Yea, its a cheap tactic, but you give me a cheap gun and that's what I'm gonna do. I'm not the only one that does this. The boltshot isn't like a rocket or anything, but it's a weapon you can spawn with, and that's what makes it so cheap. If used right, boltshot can beat any power weapon out there.

I hear you, I hit 70 and still played here and there... but it just didn't feel worth it. Whenever a game made me mad I just jumped out, because I didn't care about experience. I took a specialization code from a friend since I didn't get the email either. But still, 130 can't just be the end of it, can it?
-
He's not trolling, it's nearly impossible to see the indicators on smaller screen, or non-hd. I have a 66 inch plasma and still find it hard to see while playing split screen.

You can't just tell him to get better >.> A good sniper will kill you no matter what if you're fighting long range with a DMR or driving a vehicle. A GOOD sniper. I'm saying the person who can get the one shot off before you get off five with a DMR, no matter how much jumping/strafing/cover you use. I agree that the sniper in this game is op, but not for this one shot reason you have... that's prolly just cuz you took a lil damage to your shields and got shot in the body, or your killcam is lagging. It's just too easy to use a sniper in this game. First time I picked one up I got my first Rampage, and right then and there I knew the sniper was op in 4. That's just my opinion of course.
-
That explains the medal, but not the challenge... I don't know why that didn't work. I didn't think the medal was in the game? I don't see why you don't earn one for Regicide... It's not slayer, but I wouldn't consider it easy to achieve in FFA, unless you're boosting of course.
-
They're there...it's just hardly visible. It was better with faded circles and triangles, imo. I might not have played Halo since the dawn of time, but I do have friends that have, and their most common complaint is how much they despise the radar.

The worst problem about this game versus Reach, 3/2/1:
SkItZo1041 replied to Combat's topic in Halo 4
I find it somewhat easy to find people, but that's simply because people do nothing but camp... Complex it's the same room in the middle with windows on both sides, Ragnarok the hill, Exile usually is all over along with Adrift, Abandon up in the middle at the top of the lift, Solace sucks, Haven you usually have the guys camping the corners with their whole team so that the only way to approach them is from the top, Vortex the base in the middle, Meltdown you just don't know what the hell is going on, Longbow is usually that base up in the middle. The common theme here though, is an elevated area in the middle obviously. This is why Exile, Adrift, and Haven are some of my favorite maps. Ragnarok is a nice map and all, but I get so sick of having to play a defensive game because people do nothing but camp in the middle with camo and a DMR/Sniper. Although, this camping method is also a common theme in any other map. At first when I started reading though, I thought you meant just simply it's harder to see people. I was going to agree with that, but it's not what you meant haha. I don't like the bleached colors we have of red and blue really, people kind of blend in with their surroundings a little better. That's what I hated about Call of Duty at first. Yea, it's something you get used to, but I really liked the way Spartans stuck out like a sore thumb in the previous Halo games, as if their red or blue was highlighted, if that makes sense. -
They should rename this forum to complaint FEST.
SkItZo1041 replied to TransientHalo's topic in Halo 4
Yea, rename the forum to complaint fest, great idea!!! ...no. Complaining about complainers is probably more annoying than the complaining itself. If you like the game, that's great, you don't need to shun the people that don't. If they don't like the game, let them voice their opinions, it's the only way the Halo series can improve. If you think there's not much to improve on...well, you're wrong. There's always room to improve, and the game can always be better. I'm not saying it's not fun now, I'm simply saying that just because you like it doesn't mean everyone else has to, and that the game can definitely improve. -
Probably because 130 is as high as you can get as far as I know. That doesn't take long either. Reach was capped at Lt. Colonel for a while, it's just something they do to keep people around I guess. On another note, those of you that don't have it, find a friend with the LE copy, and take his email code. That's what I was forced to do, as I didn't get my email either.
-
I like both, just 4 wasn't what I thought it would be. I switch off between the two.
-
It's dumb, if it's not taken out, at least put the Yoink! medal back in. At least then I can calm myself by saying "he was trying to get medals, don't betray him." I've seen people run across a battlefield trying to pummel the guy whose life is now in my hands, after I save them nonetheless.
-
They should just make a separate Heavies playlist again, then people who like it can play it and people who don't don't have to deal with it.. The map does seem a little small for all that clutter.
-
Snipers not having enough people can't be the reason. It's just the rotation deal, and after they've sorted the bugs out on each playlist, they'll put them back in if I'm told correctly. Snipers had the 3rd-4th most players at all times almost, being passed only by Team Slayer, BTB, and SWAT. If gametypes that "didn't have enough players" got removed, Dominion, KOTH, Oddball, etc., would all be gone. What I don't understand is why FFA Throwback is even a playlist... Taking two of the most widely unpopular playlists and combining them in a free-for-all? C'mon now..
