Lose the Boltshot, Add Real Forerunner Weapons
WonderWombat replied to Vincent Likes Halo's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Promethean didn't use normal forerunner weapons. They used Promethean weapons which they are explicitly stated to be and we're specifically designed to fight flood. Because they are not the familiar version of forerunner weaponry in no way makes them fake. -
Halo 5: Guardians Teaser Image Speculation Thread
WonderWombat replied to RedStarRocket91's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
The word on Admiral Cole is that he got exploded. If he survived it is probably due to poor writing and they needed a plot device. -
You misunderstand what I mean. The Assault Rifle (especially 4's) is fine. I would like a new assault rifle, one that is more accurate but shoots considerably slower. It would also still be able to shoot in automatic so it ins't just a Battle Rifle or DMR. The one assault rifle that was sort of like this was the plasma rifle. Other than that the Plasma Repeater, Storm Rifle, and Suppressor all got faster and less accurate.

Unease P34nut's Bip.Bap.Bam Event!
WonderWombat replied to Unease Peanut's topic in Game Invitations
I can try, but I won't be able to know until tomorrow. There is a really good chance I will be working at 2. Edit: I can attend. Gamertag: W0NDERW0MBAT (tthose are zeros) -
I have one. I cannot guarantee anything good though. Name: King of the Monsters Primary Weapon: Light Rifle Secondary Weapon: Magnum Grenade: Plasma Armor Ability: Hologram Tactical Package: Shielding Support Package: Ammo Gametypes: Ones that include the Binary Rifle Conditions: Must roar after every kill, also if there is a binary rifle you must try and get it. Sniping is the prefered way of attacking people.

I just want an accurate assault rifle which has yet to be done. They just keep making them faster and less accurate.

Did you know Halo 4 came out on November 6th, 2012. I didn't know either. According to writing on the weapon, the Spartan Lasers actual name is 'Big Scary Laser'. There is also a warning on it cautioning you to not look into the beam with your remaining eye. Edit: My trivia was totally stolen from me. How about this one. In the river the Mammoth passes that is next to a waterfall a double rainbow can be seen.

Far Cry 4 story has been leaked *spoiler*
WonderWombat replied to Unease Peanut's topic in General Discussion
I guess it worked out because it didn't seem like a holiday game. It seemed to always be on sale and relevant through 2013 so that helped. -

That is a really late release date, wonder what sales will be like. I will probably pick it up in a year or two when it is cheaper. -
We can only wish.

I think it is up to MS anyways not 343.

The Official What You Do and Do Not want in Halo 5 Thread
WonderWombat replied to SatanicBagels's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
I don't necessarily want it in as I don't really care. But I could see Elite returning in matchmaking if it turns out that Sanghelios is a major location. What I would want is a good amount of elite armor permutations as they have some pretty awesome armor. I'm also hoping for some open world type mechanics or whatever you want to call it. I'm not entirely sure what I mean by this either. What I was thinking is that there would be the typical campaign level orders. But instead of just linear do this the maps would be far more open leaving you with a variety of paths to complete the mission. I also think side missions could work in here, like go find these missing marine or whatever. If the series is going to go towards and open world game it is not ready to do it in one big leap. Especially considering a big part (presumably) is trying to bring Cortana back. Doesn't seem right to go explore a hill for 3 hours. While I was writing that I was thinking of ways to incorporate an open world game. Totally unrelated to Halo 5, but I think it would be awesome if we played as some rogue Elite who sort of works as a bounty hunter/mercenary. The character would go hopping around planets in the galaxy hunting targets and what not. Each planet could also have its own open world, not massive, but big enough to be interesting. -
My only real wish is a longer campaign with an equal amount of dpeth and complexity as Halo 4's story

What if the antagonist is Chief!!!1!1!

Lose the Boltshot, Add Real Forerunner Weapons
WonderWombat replied to Vincent Likes Halo's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Well if the current promethean weapons are 'fake'. I want to know what a real weapon is. -
Requiem or Midnight. Requiem because seeing all the forerunner stuff for the first time and the music makes for an excellent experience. Midnight for reasons stated above.
-
Isn't the open world thing just some rumor? While it would be awesome to have some open world stuff included I thinking immediately jumping from linear game to total open world could be troublesome.

If there was a new weapon, what would it be like?
WonderWombat replied to FloodMaster's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
A Promethean melee weapon, like the things the knight has. Don't know how they would make it different from the sword though. Maybe make it a two shot kill but a really fast swing.Or it has to charge like a Spartan Laser and if you hit a target you lunge super fast and you kill them. If you miss you could lose your shield or something. No idea, just want to have a glowing orange sword thing. I would also like a better assault rifle for any group. One that shoots slower but has more accuracy. I also think some type of revolver would be cool. Maybe replace the boltshot with a Promethean 'Revolver' with a good amount of power, but some decent kickback. -
Are you talking about the teaser trailer? He is missing the back plate thing and us wearing wrappings over his foot armor. You never see his legs.

So back when Halo 4 still wasn't released 343 said that Halo 5 was going to be the darkest Halo to date or something like that, so I'm going to keep that in mind. As for the story I think Jul is going to find his way back to Sanghelios. With the Arbiter's forces in a weakened state Jul will end up taking over Sanghelios. The Arbiter could somehow be involved with the UNSC afterwards and Chief somehow discovers that Halsey is there. Chief is kept in the dark about how the ONI wants Halsey dead now and that she is a traitor. So as he pleas to someone that he can go get her to bring back Cortana he will be denied however many times before deciding to just go ahead and find her himself. He ventures off to Sanghelios and it is now full of Covenant so he has those to fight. This is where the other Spartan comes in. He is like the top Spartan IV or maybe specifically trained by ONI as a Spec-Ops kind of guy. He got to Sanghelios before Chief and is hunting down Halsey by himself. We as the player get levels as both the assassin spartan and Chief. John's levels are more typical to the Halo experience while the other guy gets more stealthy missions for variety. John will eventually find Halsey and emotions will occur. He explains how she needs to bring Cortana back. Halsey, even though she likes John, tries to use him by twisting the story of what happened between her and the UNSC. While he is out getting some forerunner who-ha for her we encounter the other spartan. The assassin guy then tries to tell John Halsey is insane and needs to be taken out. John doesn't believe him and either kills him or lets him go. Towards the end Halsey will do something nefarious or reveal her plans to hurt the UNSC and after some quiet thinking Master Chief will have to kill her. I also think Halo 6 will be heavily focused on forerunner vs. humans conflict. So somewhere in Halo 5 there will be some Didact stuff and what not but it won't be the focus. Now that I'm thinking about it Halsey and the Covenant could be trying to bring him back from wherever he went. Then Chief gets the final piece to 'bring Cortana back' and when he gives it to Halsey she goes to some machine thing and turns on this unstoppable whatever. This is the moment Chief realizes she is bad and he kills her while she is astonished by bringing back the Didact as he shoots of some badass Didact dialogue. He calls the Chief foolish and punches him in the face but right before he can kill him assassin spartan arrives and knocks the Didact back. The last level is the two of them escaping Sanghelios.

is the silver spartan hunting john?
WonderWombat replied to HydraFyre101's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
I hope he is hunting John, the game really needs a 'strong willed' antagonist. By that I mean some one who is actively trying to hurt Master Chief opposed to the Prophets who just ran around for the Great Journey or the Didact who was so determined to destroy humanity he just ignored him. The last thing that is needed is some other super talented soldier that only does good. They are finally making Chief flawed; I hope they don't ruin that by just replacing him with some faceless dude. -

Halo 5: Guardians Teaser Image Speculation Thread
WonderWombat replied to RedStarRocket91's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Since it is apparent that ONI doesn't really care about John I think it is possible that they could be sending this guy to go kill him or capture him. Maybe we get to play as both and when we are Chief everything is an enemy, and when we are the other guy the UNSC are allies and the covenant and prometheans (if they are in the game) will be enemies. However the two Spartans would never actually meet because then it would have to take control of one. Instead one of them could end up dying. Just think if Master Chief died in this game... 343 did say it would be the darkest Halo. Did anyone else notice all the orange lines that seem to be on the bottom half of the armor, reminds me of the Didact's combat skin. The armor definitely seems to have some attachment to the forerunner. -
I thought it had the best story telling of all the Halo games so far, good flow and plot. The gameplay was a little lacking though.
