If you're a Battlefield fan and can't get enough of Battlefield 4, fear not, for more content is coming as DICE has confirmed! Battlefield 4 launched in a state of pure and true horror, from minor glitches that incited laughter to full out crashes and game losses that made people throw their controllers at the television. It's nice though now that DICE and EA are trying to get back on our good side with the announcement of new DLC over Battlefield.com. The team confirmed that Final Stand won't be the end and that new expansion maps are on their way. These maps will be remakes of popular older maps such as Noshar Canals or Grand Bazaar, and DICE is polling the fans, which I've left a link to below. These maps will be 100% free as confirmed by a DICE LA Producer over Twitter. It will act as new content to hold off for the launch of the next Battlefield, Battlefield: Hardline, which was delayed into March 2015 also as a way to show that DICE and EA are desperate to get back into consumer's hearts. The content (as of yet) will be available on all platforms for free, and no release date has been confirmed just yet. View attachment: BF4FinalStand.jpg It's really nice to see DICE doing something good for the community, with EA's blessing, and even though Battlefield 4 had a rocky start, this will really help lengthen the time in-game and make opinions a bit more positive. What's your take on this? What map do you want to see remade most? Vote here, thanks for reading folks! Merry EAster... Wait... Wrong holiday... View full article

Ralph Baer, regarded widely as the father of video gaming as a medium, has passed away today at age 92. Have you ever paused in the middle of your Call of Duty match and wondered how all this is possible, or stopped typing away at your keyboard about how the new Halo sucks to really regard the man/woman who made all this possible? Well, the truth is one man truly made gaming possible, Ralph Baer, and today he has sadly passed away according to IGN.com. Ralph was an immigrant from Germany at the time of World War II and left for a better life in the US in 1938. Ralph would go on to become a revolutionary thinker and inventor when he created the first ever video game console and made today's Xbox Ones and PS4s possible. Without Ralph, there would be no gaming industry, and today we celebrate the man who made our moments of sadness, happiness, and creative luster possible. Ralph passed at age 92 from natural causes with a list of accomplishments and medals under his belt. Now look, before I start this, I'd like to point out a lot of this is educated opinion I've done viewing countless threads and playing countless hours of Halo, as well as interacting with you guys. I cannot say how the final product will be as I have not play it, and neither can anyone else, which is what this thread is about. So this is a sort-of-kind-of rant about Halo 5: Guardians, and how the rage is unnecessary. This is bound to ruffle a few feathers, but taking what you've seen above, take what I say with a grain of salt. Enjoy! I'll admit, I haven't been a fan of Halo or Bungie since the beginning, I hopped on the bandwagon when Halo 3 released, and from then, I was enthralled with this strange and unique series that seemed to hit all the right points. And, I won't lie, Halo 4 was disappointing to me and a lot of other people, but, it wasn't at all a bad game. As a starter game, it had a lot to it, good and bad, and balanced it out so well that the community was split right in the middle, which caused the great collapse of Halo in what many people considered was the death of a franchise. That's right, Halo 4 didn't kill the franchise, the fans did, even though they thought they were helping their favorite series, the constant bickering in the end caused such a rift that most just up and quit. That was, until the Master Chief Collection, and the promise of a better Halo 5. And, in a lot of ways, the hype to the Master Chief Collection played a large part in why people are disappointed with Halo 5: Guardians already, a game that has barely seen any limelight. I for one was excited as well to play The Master Chief Collection, but I had something most didn't, excitement for Halo 5: Guardians. From what I'd seen in the cinematic, the game was going to have a stellar multiplayer that added unto the experience rather than keeping it the same. When the gameplay premiered, I was very excited to play, but, quite a bit of the community again disagreed, and went straight to forums to rant about how 343i was 'ruining' Halo, making all these changes. But, people moaning about Halo 5's changes are the reason Halo 5 WILL be rated poorly. Halo fans are afraid of change, at least the majority are. People cry for a return to Halo 2's style of gameplay, yet also cry when things are too similar, I don't understand it all that well. 343i is trying to evolve the core gameplay, not change it, and they added a decent amount of things that I quite like that add to the already fun and familiar experience. People cry of Halo copying other franchises, yet at the time of conception, the game was already very similar in base plot and gameplay to other games like DOOM. Why didn't people complain during those times? Quite a bit of the community is scared that 343i is changing the game and are boycotting it because of it without even trying it. And even if they did, they would yell the same tired lines, ''Too much like CoD!'' or ''Titanfall clone!'' It baffles my mind, and makes me sad for the future of gaming. What I'm trying to say is, before you start writing petitions to get Bungie back or change the game or close 343i, think about how the game is evolving, and think about the actual 'changes' being done. 343i is making Halo 5 closer to classic games while evolving how you move around to make it more fluid and ergo more competitive, and they're trying something new. Halo 4 wasn't a mediocre game because it changed things, but because it didn't keep the same competitive feel, the feel that Halo 5 seems to possess. I'm not saying that the game is going to be the best thing ever, don't misinterpret my words, the game isn't even out yet. What I say is that to judge the game NOW solely on new additions is purely inane. Think about it a bit and play for yourself. If you are an angry Bungie elitist, I hope I've gotten through a bit to you to at least give Halo 5 a chance when the beta releases, and not judge purely on footage. I also hope you no longer doubt 343i for no real reason purely because they aren't entirely Bungie, you must remember these are still talented people who know how to listen to a community, and just because you want every Halo to be Halo 2 doesn't mean everyone else does, maybe adding to a franchise can add to an experience? I'm EK, signing off! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz53wLZtwQU

If you're a fan of Assassin's Creed and want more content in Unity, I have good news as the Unity DLC 'Dead Kings' will be available for free when it releases! It's no doubt in anyone's mind that Assassin's Creed Unity launched with a host of bugs and glitches, some game breaking, and in an unfinished state, however, due to the overall poor launch quality, Ubisoft is doing something quite honourable. On the Ubi.com website for the game, in a live update journal the company revealed that the previously paid DLC Dead Kings will be 100% free for all when it launches. This is to show their remorse to the players for a poor launch. As well, something especially cool, if you own the Season Pass you get one free Ubisoft title recently, Far Cry 4, AC IV: Black Flag, Watch_Dogs The Crew, or Just Dance 2015. Unfortunately, the Season Pass is no longer available to purchase due to the fact that this is a recompense for those who already had it. But, all in all, Ubisoft is trying to get back into people's good graces after Unity caused their stock to drop, and learning from their mistakes. View attachment: ACDeadKingsandChinaChron.jpg Is this a good way to reimburse players who experienced glitches in their game? Tell me about your opinion below! Thanks a lot for reading, catch you all later, and have a happy Thanksgiving! Speaking of thanks, thanks to Halo5 follower for linking this to me as I was in the middle of writing it. The developers of the hit new multiplayer game, Evolve, have promised that all of the game's downloadable maps in the future will be free to all players. Season Passes these days are in full fruition, and it seems like every company wants to milk any feature they 'reward' you with dry and force you to output more money on DLC than the actual game costed. Polygon.com states that Evolve developers, Turtle Rock Studios, are avoiding this trend and making all future expansion maps free to all. Their reasoning was that, "We never want anyone to get booted off of a server because they haven't bought something." Although map DLCs are being made free to all players, that doesn't mean Evolve won't contain other paid content. More Hunters and Monsters will be added post launch that will cost money, but even if you don't buy them you can still play alongside them if your friends have them. Evolve launches on February 10th for current gen and PC only, so if you're on the Xbox 360 and PS3, it might be time to upgrade. At the end of the video, Batman's villain in the game Scarecrow inquires you to watch the show to find out more. While not a lot of solid info, it's still very likely we'll see more on the upcoming game as each year fills the gaming world with new announcements, like last year's Tales from the Borderlands or Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. What happens when a large company, let's call this company Activision as an example, buys a masterful and genius company, let's call this company Bungie, and morphs Bungie into another, let's say Infinity Ward, pumping out a quarter finished title and promising updates later? Destiny happens! Now look, we were ALL hyped for Destiny, whether you want to admit you were or not, deep down you were excited and the majority of us were sucked in and bought the Limited Edition or even the Ghost Edition on Day One. If you were like me and did the above, I'm sure you're also feeling a bit of buyer's remorse right now even playing the game. It makes it worse when content is cut straight from the game on the Xbox versions and given to PlayStation users for no extra fee, that we're likely to not see for another year or longer. And even worse than this, the discovery that paid DLC is implemented inside the game at launch, whether it be finished or not. Activision is a monopolistic greedy group of corporate scammers who figured abducting Bungie and destroying what looked to be the game to define a generation would make them a few hundred million, which it did. Activision bashing aside, how is Destiny? Well, let's start with core gameplay. This is where Destiny shines in a lot of ways and makes you smash your head into your desk at full velocity in others. Core shooting and maneuvering is done excellently, as should be expected by the company who made Halo. The loot system in the game, on the other side of the coin, is absolutely horrid. With an awkward RNG (Random Loot System) based loot system, the game feels unbalanced and flat out amateur in some areas, coming from Bungie. With absolutely no trading, gambling, or balanced loot drop system, the game is a chore to play as you play for hours on end or end up grinding loot caves on Old Russia. I tried so hard to play fair, I really did, but good god it's a horror show to even attempt, it's so much easier when you just farm away and get good enough loot to attempt the Vault of Glass. The areas of play all feel different and complex, and the enemies (even though all playing like mindless drones) look visually appealing and unique, which is a plus for me. On the subject of Vault of Glass, the raid and all existing strikes are a ton of fun to play with friends and make the excruciating farming a bit more tolerable as you grind Aksor on Nightfall together for five hours straight for that Last Word. Moving on, Destiny's least respectable area (in my opinion), the game's story, if you can even call it that. I was genuinely getting interested after the first cutscene and was quite enthralled to keep going, likely my burning hype trying to fart out one last jolt of excitement, but I soon began to notice very odd patterns, with little explanation to flat out ANYTHING, and odd dialogue that made me feel like the game's characters were encouraging me to buy another DLC. Now, with explaining, they open doors and proceed to leave them open after their ridiculously short story ends on the laziest note I've ever seen, thank god it wasn't filled with the mass amount of plot holes of a certain RPG made by Bioware I won't name. "Who is the stranger? Why are you here? WHAT IS GOING ON?!" Is what you'll be screaming at the top of your lungs throughout the game. And as for the strange dialogue, they say things like, "Congrats, but more darkness awaits below the Moon's surface." and it would make me question, before I realized that DLC takes place down there. They don't give you a victory cheer, they tell you 'you did a decent job, go fight some more, don't question our motives'. And this is coming from BUNGIE, the guy's who made the deepest and most emotional lines of dialogue possible in Halo. Maybe the reason it's so lacking in this area is because the lead writer up and left a year ago, and they scrapped the story with only a year to fix it? That's my theory, but I'm not here to shout hogwash at you. Finally, something I can praise in Destiny, the game's graphics. From the details on the enemies, to the green skies of Venus, to the cold winter air running through Old Russia, this game is gorgeous. The graphics team knocked it out of the park in Destiny and spared no dab or brush of bright colours. It almost feels too pretty for the type of game it's trying to be, but you don't really care all that much when you watch the International Space Station drift apart above the moon now do you? The sound team also did a spectacular job, making the game's score immensely impressive. As a matter of fact, it sounds so good it makes me fuming angry that they fired Marty without a cause. Anyway, amazing job on the score and overall stunning vistas and designs. Though I do wish the sound was appropriated a bit better in the actual game, as certain scores can feel out of place with what you're doing. And since I have more than enough room, might as well mention the ridiculous excuse for multiplayer, The Crucible. I had zero fun with this unless I was playing with people I knew and could chat to about how horrid it is. It's loot system is retarded to excruciating levels, as many players will state. Matches feel extremely unbalanced with Level 2s gunning down Level 20s with ease with their Shotguns and Hunter class actions. If you have the Invective exotic shotgun, and are a hunter, you're gonna have a blast dominating people in Crucible, if not well tough luck getting that Legendary faction armour. Overall, did I enjoy Destiny? Yes, not as much as I hoped I would, but I had occasional fun. The game has extreme problems in it's current state though that Bungie is trying to fix, and they have, honourably, taken the blame on their shoulders, which is admirable. Still, humility aside, the game needs massive work and was nowhere near the title we hoped for. If you buy it for a lower price though, maybe $30 + $30 DLC, you might get a kick out of it, just know that owning the Expansion Pass is a must if you're buying this game, as you'll feel extremely left out in terms of gameplay if you don't. Also, play the game on PlayStation consoles simply because of this dumb deal right now, when the time comes and Xbox players get the DLC, feel free to pick and choose. 6/10 Thanks so much for reading guys, see ya next time!

Finally, the dimming promise of heists in Grand Theft Auto V: Online seems to be coming to fruition as Rockstar has confirmed the feature will be added in the first major update for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. You may hear rumor of the fabled legend of heists in Grand Theft Auto Online, how people ranted in droves when the feature was never implementing, and how it soon became rumor and speculation. Well, seems the legend of the implementation of this heist is coming to life as GameInformer.com reports. They confirmed, as Rockstar did, the game would implement heists when the first major update on current gen appears. When and what else is in this update though, Rockstar decided to remain ambiguous on, stating the usual slogan of, 'we'll have more to reveal on that soon' sadly. This update will be available on all consoles (and eventually PC) so if you still play on PS3/Xbox 360 don't fret. As for those of you who are upgrading, you're making a very valuable choice with the added additions of 32 player Online, new wildlife and environment details, upgraded visuals, and of course, first person gameplay. The game launches next week on Tuesday, November 18th for Xbox One and PS4 for those of you interested in picking it up on those platforms. GTA Online Heists Coming in First Update on Xbox One and PS4!
VinWarrior posted a article in Other Articles
This is some sad news to report on ladies and gentlemen. Rev3 Games, a famous gaming and entertainment hub on YouTube, is shutting down for good. If you all remember, several months ago an intelligent, well versed, and overall well respected games journalist by the name of Adam Sessler left Rev3 Games, an gaming hub on YouTube, taking with him the channel's momentum and a large portion of it's fanbase. And now, we're unfortunately on the day when Rev3 Games shuts down for good, with Tara Long and Nick Robinson, two other major channel figureheads, saying goodbye on the channel's . So why is this news, after all, it's just a YouTube channel? Well, that's just it, it was a YouTube channel, but with so many influential figures in the industry and a large hold on gaming itself with level-headed people voicing their opinions, be they right or wrong, it was still a prodigious part of the industry. And with the sad loss of this amazing group of people, I feel as though Gaming Journalism as a whole is beginning to lose it's grip, with this being just the beginning. We can speculate, and argue about this, about what they were and why they're leaving, but is that really what Sessler or Long or Robinson even would want to be left off on as their final note? Likely not, so for now, let's just remember all the good Rev3 Games did for the gaming world, and share a moment of sadness for the loss of a great group of individuals. Best of luck to the Rev3 team, they're talented people and I wish them the best. View attachment: rev3gamesoriginals--0588--nick-says-goodbye-to-rev3games--medium.thumb.jpg As you could likely tell, this means a lot to me as an amateur Games Journalist myself, working on this site. Journalism and gaming are my passions, and these are some individuals I looked up to for inspiration, to see them leave is very sad. But if the moderators or anyone else feels this isn't 'news', you can go ahead and report it/remove it. What are your thoughts on this whole thing? Let me know down below folks. Thanks a lot for reading, see you all next time. Take care, and good luck Tara, Nick, Adam, and everyone else that was on the team. View full article
