  1. Bagels, welcome back! We've had quite a bit of food people missing lately, first you then BaconShelf, it doesn't matter though, again welcome back!
  2. Recently, we were delivered an exciting piece of news, Halo: Escalation to follow the Halo Wars storyline in a way, now, we have details to run off of with a cover and description! The base information and image come from ComicBookResources.com, who listed multiple upcoming Dark Horse titles. Starting off with the cover, it is noticeable that this is a Forerunner world, surprisingly enough looking much more dense and valley-like compared to Requiem which was overloaded with metal buildings and constructs, this seems to be more of an isolated plain, but one construct is still noticeable with the typical forerunner silver and blue. The area actually hearkens back to Forge World from Halo: Reach, oddly enough, it looks nearly exactly the same! We can clearly see Thorne and three squadmates observing the valley. Majestic team was composted of five members, and we know that one particular squadmate was killed in action, so one squadmate, likely Thorne, took over the team. The warthog is included in the shot, and for the first time we see a Halo 4 era Turret-less warthog have a main feature in the story somehow. In the reflection of the front visor, we can clearly see more silver and metallic structures, as well as some form of floating debris. Oddly enough in the backdrop you can make out what looks like more continents floating above, as the outline is thicker then that of a cloud, similar to the Halo 5 trailer where whole planets could be seen from the landscape. View attachment: HaloEscalation7.jpg The most odd feature of the image is what looks like Forerunner cruisers ascending from the ground, three to be exact. Their appearance looks oddly similar to the Promethean Turrets fought in-game, without the orange details coursing through the sides. Could this be an indication of a sort of Allied Promethean group in the next Halo? The original blue Promethean Soldiers only fought the Chief because their function was to keep anyone attempting to awake the Didact out. Since these were Librarian Prometheans, and the Librarian does side with the Chief, could we see allies within the Prometheans in later titles? View attachment: Halo4-169-610x805.jpg Next, the description. It clearly states that New Phoenix, which had the entire population exterminated at the end of Halo 4, has been opened up and now Thorne will be going in to investigate. Two interesting pieces that go along with each other here are, "what it has to do with the Master Chief," and, "An essential addition to the Halo canon!" These lines signal that this will have an effect on John's journey in Halo: Xbox One, and that it will be essential to Halo's canon story. Of course, this could be marketing strategies and not anything large at all, but previous escalation comics have shown this to be false with the death of a member of Majestic, as this has a major effect on Majestic's role in the story. So taking all of that in, would you enjoy fighting alongside the Prometheans or rather keep them as enemies? Credits to Brett for pointing out this article to me! View full article

  4. Thief came before Dishonored... Looooooong before Dishonored. Little History Lesson: Thief is actually a remake of a PC title from the 90s.
  5. I support this rule, as a member of the News Group, 100 percent. Plagiarism isn't cool guys, content that isn't original isn't as interesting to read and is more of a turn-off to promote or even like. It's sad to see certain members copy from articles, even if not 100% of the article is a copy/paste. I know you guys have the potential, just tap into it, I promise it will make you prouder of your work. Again, fully behind this rule and supportive Red.
  6. What did I tell you Drizzy? There will never be a weekly site wrapup with my name not somewhere on it :3 Wonderful Wrapup! That hot topic seems to be worth a read, I need to check it out when I can.
  7. One of Forza's artists has just revealed concept art that looks to be for the next Forza title, Forza: Deep South. Forza Motorsport 5 was met with critical success as somewhat of an early system seller for the Xbox One, with Dead Rising, as it received critical praise as one of the most beautiful games of 2013 and won Best Driving Game at the VGX. Naturally, driving fans and Forza fans are excited for what is in store for the game's future, which may be set in the Louisiana Bayou, a strange advancement from Forza 5's industrial city areas. The artist who leaked the photos hinting at the next game works directly with Dhurva Interactive, whom if you remember designed quite a bit of art for Turn 10 in Forza 4 and Forza Horizon. His reveal came directly from his cghub.com account where he leaked two photos reminiscent of the bays and bayous of the Deep South, possibly hinting at a new spin-off series like Horizon, or a Horizon sequel like was leaked much earlier this year. View attachment: Forza-Deep-South.jpg To add fuel to the fire of a Horizon 2, team members at Playground Studios, who developed the original Horizon, claim to be working on an Xbox One title. One artist by the name of Simon Gibson, said that, "Responsible for overseeing the internal and external (outsource) production of all vehicles for for the project." Leading all of these links to point to a Forza Horizon 2 set in the Deep South Bays and Lakes, which could turn out well on the Xbox One's new capabilities for lighting effects. View attachment: Forza-Deep-South-2-610x271.jpg An interesting design choice and change, but for those who enjoyed the open roads of Colorado and the banks and turns of Prague in Horizon and Motorsport 5, this might be one Forza to look at deeper before deciding on a purchase.

  9. I can see how he survived the blast, but how did he get away/get off the planet without being noticed and shot down? I remember watching that episode and feeling like, "This is going to be the short version of Star Wars: The Game of Thrones isn't it?" so, it's hard to imagine him getting off-planet. It'd make for a good mini-series though.
  10. Posting this in Offbeats cause it's offbeat. So I was scrolling around and noticed an odd Titanfall ad, that reminded me of the Mass Effect 3 Pack, Earth, photo. See any similarities or no? I must be going insane right? Right?
  11. ;_; The game just came out, and now this is out? Why Ubisoft? Borderlands 2 and Dishonored waited a year, you should've too. It is nice looking though, good article.
  12. CD Projekt Red's new open world sequel, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, has been delayed for another year to get the game up and ready for launch in peak condition. The popular RPG Open World series, the Witcher, was announced to be getting it's final chapter sometime in 2014. Today, news broke first on TheWitcher.com, the official site as the developers have announced the game is being pushed back, similar to Watch_Dogs' delay back in October of 2013. The developers made an open letter, not apologizing, but praising the game's now higher potential with the delay, and explaining the delay itself. View attachment: witcher04.jpg Exactly what they said in the open letter was, "We recently reexamined what we had achieved thus far, and faced a choice about the game’s final release date. We could have released the game towards the end of this year as we had initially planned. Yet we concluded that a few additional months will let us achieve the quality that will satisfy us, the quality gamers expect from us. Consequently, we have set the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for February 2015." Seeing as the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has now been, regrettably, delayed by another solid year, has this impacted your decision to pre-order now that more time will be going into the title? 14. Well, this is new... Thanks everyone for the kind words! I'll do my best to get gaming news on the front page as often as possible!
  15. A recent slue of rumors and debates argued whether Titanfall would run at 1080p or not, today we have learned that Titanfall will be running at native 792p at Launch. Titanfall's grand launch on Xbox One and PC is fast approaching with the midnight release already happening in some places, so naturally, fans of the game wondered what the resolution would be, seeing as it is so late in the pre-release window. Today, it's been officially confirmed by lead engineer Richard Baker that Titanfall runs just short of 800p. Richard said that, "There was an issue with decals taking a lot more time than they should which we fixed for launch, The worst-case scenarios are better, I think. The average is probably about the same as the beta." Reports had already surfaced on sites like mp1st.com that the game would run at this level, but nearly no one could believe the rumor to be true, as they believed this would be the first hit exclusive to run at a full 1080p. View attachment: titanfall0617-610b.jpg This however, does not mean that this couldn't be rectified in a patch in the near future. In fact, it's likely that the game will be patched. Baker went on to say, "For day one it's not going to change. We're still looking at it for post-day one. We're likely to increase resolution after we ship." This could mean that a 1080p Titanfall will exist somewhat in the near future after a couple of patches. This is sad information for those who were expecting much higher resolutions from the game, but has this swayed your opinion on purchasing Titanfall for Xbox One?

  17. Hello everyone, Edward Kenway coming to you with not one, not two, but THREE action packed events taking place within the next month! So gear up your Xboxs, loot your loot, up your biotics, and prepare to drop in Edward’s Trinity Events! For our first playdate, with a confirmed date of April 6th, likely near the end of the day, we will be playing Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer in the Multiplayer Playdate. We’ll be playing against a large variety of enemies and on quite the amount of maps. A small note to players, if possible download the packs, as we will be playing on DLC maps. The add-ons are 100% free and will not cost Microsoft points to buy. Coming up second is the dark and melancholy Halo 3 ODST Endure Playdate. This one is more challenge specific as I will take a team of three players and attempt the Endure vidmaster with them. The date will be edited in when it is decided. Finally, to end it with a bang, we take a trek into the Badlands of Pandora in the Borderlands 2 Co-operative Playdate. Each group will randomly be fighting a pre-chosen boss, such as Bewm Boom or Saturn, just for the fun of it, as the next group cycles in. The way this will all work, since these games are 4 player only, is we will use a team based cycling system, depending on when you sign up. Let’s say Bnus signs up below first for the Mass Effect 3 playdate, then Yoshi, then D-38 Boss, these three along with me will play a round on the highest difficulty, then I move to the next three that signed up, the same formula for ODST and Borderlands 2. Sign up below for what games you will be joining, and thanks to Onsokumaru for sponsoring the Events! Credits to JX and Gryffin as well for the images. Current Attendees: Mass Effect 3: Halo5 Follower D-38 Boss Erebus ___________ Ledgend1221 Bnus JXZAW ___________ Borderlands 2: Anarchy D-38 Boss JXZAW ___________ Yang Xaoi Long Halo 3: ODST: Halo5 Follower Erebus Bnus ___________ ShadowFiend JXZAW
  18. Titanfall will be available for purchase on the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, and the PC, yes.
  19. Respawn has revealed that their blockbuster hit Titanfall will require a Day One patch to play the game on Physical copies. Respawn recently revealed that some players already have hands-on copies of the game and they will not ban or take action against these players as the copies are legitimate. So naturally, players had some things to reveal about the game, one being an 840 MB patch that is required to play. According to an early player who posted on Reddit.com, those who buy the game digitally need not worry as this patch will be included in the download. The file size is quite small compared to other day one patches like that of Dead Rising 3's massive 13GB download. With this news, a lot of players will be clearing their hard drives for the 40GB game with added download data. Are you purchasing Titanfall digitally or buying a physical copy?
  20. You could say Gravity... Assumed Direct Control at the Academy Awards Maestro.

  21. Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft’s new open world title, is confirmed to have a multiplayer free-roam with at least 8 players. When a fan asked Ubisoft Montreal’s creative designer Jonathan Morin if Watch_Dogs would have multiplayer with at least 8 players on Twitter.com, he replied confirming the idea. Since Watch_Dogs’ latest update, the confirmation of it’s release date, as well as the restoration of it’s trade mark, the game seems to be getting back on the tracks as it was superbly popular among gamers after it’s reveal at Sony’s Press Conference. After the delay, the game lost quite a bit of footing and was all but silenced among the community. Watch_Dogs is set for launch May 29th on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC, Wii U, PS3, and PS4 platforms. Are you excited for Watch_Dogs' release?
  22. The rumored Titanfall themed Xbox Ones are available, but sadly, only to Respawn Entertainment Employees. With a slue of rumors recently releasing, a hot one was the Titanfall themed Xbox One. Naturally, this rumor was put to rest when the actual Titanfall bundle was announced, but it seems these consoles do in fact exist. Respawn Employees began using Twitter.com to send photos of their themed Xbox Ones and controllers. With this, fan excitement and outrage was sparked. The console has not been confirmed to be available to the public, unfortunately, which was the main cause for fan anger. With this rumor, could it possibly mean that other rumors in the post were true? We can’t exactly say for certain, but it’s highly likely. Do you believe the themed Titanfall Console should come to retail?
  23. With the recent announcement of the next hit title in the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Knight, I thought it might be a good idea to analyze the trailer and put forward my own thoughts and opinions on what has changed, what has stayed the same, and what we can expect. Spoilers ahead. For starters, what we already know; We have been notified that the game will follow Bruce Wayne aka the Batman fighting off the Scarecrow who has recruited a roster of villains to fight for him and take over Gotham City. The trailer is narrated by Thomas Wayne’s disembodied voice reading off his last will and testament. This could possibly be Bruce remembering this and imaging the voice instead of something that happened beforehand set directly up with the events currently going on. Bruce himself has had little changes since the events of Arkham City. He looks almost exactly the same since the events at the end of City, with slightly bushier hair and a less trimmed face as a small shadow is shown on his lip area. The batsuit itself looks to be a slightly more modified version of the one from Arkham City and Asylum, keeping a sort of bulkiness from Origins. One noticeable change is the size of the hood, as the pointed horn-like features on his cowl are much more edged and look to be a good few inches longer. It seems to be pushing away from designs like the one in Injustice and Origins, making the suit slimmer, but at the same time incorporating modern armor on to it for defense. Next, we look at Harleen Quinzel, since the events of City, and the loss of Joker, Harley seems to have gone her own way teaming up with Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Penguin. Her body size looks about the same as in City, but she has differences i n her facial area. She looks much more mature, and at least in her 30s-40s. This could be a hint at a much more distant future as Harley looks to have grown by at least a decade. The penguin, who looked richer and more like a leader in Arkham City, here also looks older, and to have his own allegiances. Finally, two face, who did appear earlier in City as well. He does seem slightly older, but not much older or disfigured like Harley and the Penguin. Commissioner Gordon oddly enough makes no appearance in the trailer, could this possibly be another city-under-siege situation? With the police locked down somehow, and batman by a sliver of luck not being locked away while crime runs rampant? Could this also be a hint at Gordon’s possible death in Knight? For right now, we can only speculate. Tallying it up, my theory is that the game is set at least a decade into the future, with an all out attack by Harley, left alone with no Joker by her side, an old and vengeful Penguin, a power hungry Two-Face in the city, locking it away from Police as they begin a lock-down on the population until the group finds Batman, with Bruce having a small time to stop them before they go over the edge.
  24. Respawn Entertainment has officially announced the $24.99 season pass for Titanfall! With people already excited for Titanfall, and the game making a large profit on pre-orders alone, it makes sense that a Season Pass would be available. On Titanfall.com it was revealed that a Season Pass will be available for the game. It will cost $24.99, a five dollar savings compared to buying the packs normally. For the PC version, a Digital Deluxe is also available for $79.99 including Titanfall and the DLC. The Season Pass will be available for all three platforms at participating retailers like GameStop. New maps are confirmed with the pass, but other content has not been revealed. Note that this is not a cross platform download, it is exclusive to the Xbox console you choose, the One or 360. Will you be purchasing the Season Pass for Titanfall?
