SOURCE-GamingBlend 343 is on the verge of releasing a new map pack for Halo 4 called Majestic. To spare yourself some brutal early matches on the new maps, watch the new tip videos that the development team has released. Majestic provides three new maps for online play. Monolith is a Forerunner monument with plenty of open space. Landfall is a coastal city under siege. Skyline, meanwhile, is set in the middle of an industrial area. The map pack also adds a free-for-all mode called Infinity Rumble. Players can exclusively play the Majestic maps by sticking to two new playlists. The Majestic Map Pack will debut on February 25th. It's one of three map packs included in the game season pass. "There are a few hundred players who have been unable to connect to our servers since yesterday," acknowledged a member of the Halo Waypoint forum team. "We're investigating now and hope to have an update soon." Another moderator said more recently: "The number of players in the fallback hoppers has dropped, however there are still people experiencing problems accessing the main servers. We'll continue to investigate and push out fixes until these issues are resolved." An entry on the Halo Waypoint Twitter account also says: "We're actively investigating the server issues. Source-NBC Sony has just revealed its new game machine -- the PlayStation 4 -- as well as a new controller with a touch pad, a "share" button and light bar. "Today marks a moment of truth and a bold step forward for PlayStation as a company," said Andrew House, president and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, as he took the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. "Today we will give you a glimpse into the future of play." House told a room packed full of journalists that the new machine -- the successor to the PlayStation 3 -- would take the moniker PlayStation 4. Sony then revealed the new touch-sensing DualShock controller as well as a new camera that works in conjunction with the controller. Mark Cerny, the PS4's lead system architect, went on to reveal the powerful guts of the machine explaining, “The architecture we chose is like PC in many ways.” He said the PlayStation 4 will have an X86 CPU and 8 gigabytes of unified system memory. David Perry – CEO and founder of Gaikai – also took the stage. Sony bought his game streaming company last year. He said the integration of the streaming game service Gaikai in the PlayStation store will allow gamers to instantly try games before they buy them. He said with the "share" button on the controller you can broadcast your live gameplay to your PlayStation Network friends. He said your friends will not only be able to watch your gameplay, but can post comments to your screen. You'll also be able to allow friends to take over your game to assist you in a difficult area or interact in other helpful ways. Source-Gamespot Halo 4's Majestic Map Pack will release on February 25, Microsoft has announced. The pack will include three new small-to-medium sized maps--Landfill, Monolith and Skyline--developed by longtime Halo mapmakers Certain Affinity. "Landfall’s emphasis is on infantry battles amidst a glittering ocean and a city under siege on a distant world. Monolith is an open battlefield; a Forerunner monument that exposes you to the naked vacuum of space – and the firepower of opposing teams. Skyline puts you in the air on a new construction site, and its distinctly industrial surroundings and sky-high locale provides new challenges in confined spaces," wrote the Halo Waypoint blog. Alongside the maps comes two Majestic DLC playlists--eight player FFA DLC and four-versus-four Team DLC--and a free-for-all gametype called Infinity Rumble, which combines lengthier respawn times with an increased focus on ordnance, allowing special medals, assists and style kills to contribute to your ordnance. That makes the discovery of these four images for Halo 4's forthcoming Majestic Map Pack quite a coincidence, indeed. It's probably not as nefarious as it sounds, actually. NeoGAF user Wifiplayer13 found them by altering the URL on the Halo 4 website. "I simply changed the name of the map in the images they have on the website to find them," he writes. The image above is the playlist picture for Monolith. The three images below are the lobby pictures for it, Landfall and Skyline. 343 Industries back in January said Majestic would arrive in "late February," describing Majestic as "two small maps and one medium sized map."
