Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
Don't have to,requiems own systems will have spinoffs to manage a myriad of subsystems and the fact that the game doesn't state that the antagonist is in control of all of it's systems, requiem would still run at default status. Remember "An ancient evil awakens" not is awake and looking about bored out of it's brain,if anything it was either interred there or went there of it's own volition and if it's dormant or in cryo then it would have spinoff systems monitoring requiem, not actually itself. If it's the didact and is being awakened from a cryptum sleep,it'll take days possibly a week before he comes fully awake. In the cea terminals,343's proximity senses picked up the pillar of autumn and was trying to warn it off, don't you think it would be fubar if the forerunners didn't have the same system on their shield worlds? unless? The shield worlds were suppose to be hidden like at onyx but requiem is'nt or has been taken out of it's hiding place.Kiki's words "Kind of breached" have been playing at the back of my mind. -
4 Years in Cyo is quite a long Time, don't you think?
Azeraph replied to Rex Reiden X's topic in Halo 4
You know what? I would think that future cryo will possibly go the way of a womb like capsule, where your suspended in an amniotic fluid with your very own geenied placental sac that can change you're bio environmentals, replace your blood with antifreeze chemicals, tissue sustaining fluids, recycle the matter you went in with and drop your system down to near freezing,so really your not in cryo but setup in a pickle jar. Like some african frogs that cover themselves in a mucus sack and wait till the monsoon comes back around and sometimes that can take years. -

Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
Well before the infinity came down MC had been wondering around long enough to be observed unless the suit masks his bio-signs but then the scan of forward unto dawn would have given up genetic traces of what we are,so maybe the A.I had been observing him to make sure he was human and decided to bring him in for closer inspection, organically. -
Halo: Reach Ending Linked With Reclaimer Trilogy?
Azeraph replied to Forerunner Reclaimer's topic in Halo 4
Bungie wouldn't hold anything back, they would have handed all material over that wasn't theirs and i don't think a company will resort to childishness,if anything i think they would have been glad to free themselves rather than be locked under MS's iron hand. I don't think halsey can appear in the games, parangosky effectively makes her disappear in glasslands, which isn't my favorite book, halsey did what she thought she had to do and it just so happens that it was at the right time for the covie war. I thought when a planet gets glassed it also boils off the atmosphere,i'm sure i read that somewhere in the books? -

Azeraph replied to Rex Reiden X's topic in Halo 4
actually i posted that post and didn't quite read through your other post and just as i did, the site locked up on me so i thought i'll try and re-edit it before it could be read but couldn't get back on,which was strange, maybe it's my provider, idk but sorry had to wait til now that i'm back up. Sci-fi, Yeah man this is where it's at,where we can talk about something that in this day and age is impossible until we figure out how to apply hibernation techniques of certain animals for us to use. it would only work if like you said if there was any sentinels on board or the cryo unit has a pump and drip hookup that the suit clips and locks onto when he clambers in,giving her the pump mechanism to pump in cryo chemicals to keep the organs from degenerating from too long an exsposure to cold temps and possibly keep the system oxygenated at such a low level that it looks virtually impossible that anything could still be alive. Watch these conference talks. it opens ones eye's to the possibility that one day we will crack it,in the halo stories they did their research well, the Didact was in suspended animation and then desiccated to last for whatever length of time, amazing. -

Azeraph replied to Rex Reiden X's topic in Halo 4
Cortana can't upgrade the hardware unless she physically swaps things out but she can upgrade the suits firmware,at the sametime there could be a service bot around but the whole halo universe shows nothing of human built bots anywhere, pls correct if wrong. The chief is fully catheteriszed and she can still monitor his internals at the chemical level so she can make adjustments perse as time moves on,a little less of this or that or a little more of this or that, she can adjust it, where is if it was left to the standard operting system it could go na-na and kill him or just bring him out at each alotted safety time limit and make him wait til his system was once again capapble of sustaining cryo for long periods of time. -
Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
Yes the community consensus is the didact but there is the two books that just doesn't paint him in his two forms as a possible antagonist, his original self was a war leader,a servant for defense for his people then as bornstellar/didact imprint and still there is no hint at any aversion to humanity. If anything he should be inline with his wife's plans. What if the original was composed instead of executed and exiled to requiem as it's monitor? it would suit faber in his meglomania to try and preserve all that experience but under tight controls? Tight controls that have gone due to rampancy.I wonder if the huragok will play a part in the game since the last books have them in the story lines? -
Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)

My main computer went down and i don't have a smart phone,in fact i got rid of it and just operate off an old phone that's not connected, more peaceful. My PSU blew out so now i'm in the mode of looking around for a better unit. Now the apologies are out of the way. I'm sure requiem should have it's monitors? or if it's like the Onyx world then it should have huragok running it and they would know what came through the portal after each scan? if requiem is totally automated then we're looking at an A.I,i can't see the "Enemy" being in control if it's dormant unless it was awakened on scanning for humans. Kiki said "Kind of breached" if the covies got in and not through the main entrance then requiems systems would not register them, the promethean might be just reacting to it's basic security programming and treat all as hostile intruders,it killed the elite because it registered them as a group and tracked them but then why did it leave the chief? because he's a reclaimer? no? did devs got it to flick out to string the story out on "What was that" mode or were they given orders to preserve the chief and bring him in? Remember the devs had to straighten the mumbled mash of storys into a coherent history line because it was pretty jumbled up and thrown out there. The covies don't look like they are in any sort of trouble with their ship and look more like an exploratory group,so far as we know there's only one ship. What if the breach was not the covies but by the Enemy? -
12+ killed at Colorado "The Dark Knight Rises" Premier
Azeraph replied to MCPO Mayh3m's topic in General Discussion
At first i thought this is a forum prank. I wonder if on the spurr massacres were common in english speaking countries in the 1800's? They say society is getting worse but every man can imagine himself as the perpertrator during the act,we're human, every one of us are clones of each other, the only difference is experience.I remember hearing someone say years ago that we are if anything starting to react to increased competition and feeling cast adrift with no purpose, life will become cheap as we grow in numbers and walk away from god. We're all intro's here, only intro's haunt the forums like they are clubs and being intro's we can figure things out pretty good,it's just that though the batman movies are dark they are not that sick to warrant this kind of nut off unless he was in protest against this type of movies or literally was hoping batman would jump out and stop.sic -
Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
Del rio in his mayday call states how an "Unknown enemy has taken hold of the ship" i had to listen to it a few times to make sure he said "hold" at first it sounded like "control" which could mean a tractor beam or something was in infinities systems but judging from the way it was brought in, it's most likely a heavy or wide gravity beam as people were effected as well as space debri. One would think the infinity would be "Hardened" against EMP,One thing that gets me, though i know the devs did it for that theatrical cinematic experience is that the ship came down gracefully,if it had no power then it's AG field emitters would be out as well,it should of come down like a rock and since it is zero aerodynamic it should of come straight down head first or flipped over and broke it's back on impact,i'm a stickler for details, unimportant. I feel sorry for 343 as they had to get the story sorted out before they could actually develope this installment, that's why i'm on this forum to glean some understanding from the hardcore fans. So requiem's scan was either too strong or was a scanner/immobiliser/tractor beam and possibly,it guided the infinity down for a soft landing, also since infinity has forerunner tech it's systems were easily compromised. One thing else, the infinity should have Huragok on board,it would account for it getting patched up quickly and on the move again. If the covenant did breach requiem then requiem might not realise they are there, they might of breached somewhere else and are hidden from it's sensors until infinty shows up but i'm leaning towards them breaching and are stuck there and can't get out which poses the question that the covenant cruiser is now up against a more advanced human ship than their own tech or they are their as raiders for forerunner tech or want requiem for themselves. -
It's because the writers were'nt onto it and used titanium A as a ship building material when in reality we will develope new materials as we are doing now with graphene, one day we won't need to mine for resources,we will just use anything, strip it down to it's particle level and restructure it to suit what ever it is we want it to be but that's why i like the story,we as an emerging spacefaring race are still caveman like compared to everyone else out there. The unsc didn't have shield technology but with the infinity things could be different as there is a 1 sec moving shot at 2.18-19 of the E3 live action trailer that shows the chief looking at something while the infinity is above cruising past while a shadow of a covenant cruiser is seen on the hull of infinity.

Man,you guys should read "The dragon never sleeps" by Glen Cook 1987 so much of halo has similar story artifacts that one thinks that we as a species tend to arrive at possible concepts slowly but as a group over a period of time,in this case a sci-fi story. I suppose the genies are right that we are just self perpetuating clones with slight variances to keep the system viable for reprodution. Heres an excerpt from the book "He said his people has been on the web for six million years and they had heard legends from older races who had come across older races that talk of the first race. The builders of the web, once this galaxy was finished they went onto other galaxies and i suppose they are out there now spining the web between stars" In this book we are the hated controlling species in it's twilight years as a species in it's evolutionary old age.Composed humans, rampant and psychotic A.I,elite alien troops that are beyond human reaction speeds, ships half the size of the moon. Human empire versus an empire of different races led by a race of misguided religious nutty squid like methane breathers.

Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
I think he said it in "Cortana theory" but it makes more sense. The infinity has forerunner tech and probably forerunner drives and a detailed map of the galaxy,it could be left over covies that also stumbled upon requiem or they ported in from somewhere else or someone sold them some good intel and they got forerunner slipspace drives. i tried to up load a snap from the E3 trailer that shows the chief below the infinity as it cruises by but there's a shadow of a covenent cruiser playing across the ship not far from the infinity but far enough that the shadow looks small, freezeframe the trailer,it's towards the end. So the infinity gets airtight and can move but theres also a covie ship in tiptop condition as well, what does that tell you? what if requiem can move on it's own? the infinity didn't crash land,it got sucked into requiem. Actually it's at 2.18-19 of the E3 live action trailer and it's definitely a covie cruisers shadow -

Didn't cortana update the chiefs armours firmware while he was cryoed? she's still monitoring him though she's in forwards systems. -
Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
I'm leaning towards what sierra 1117 says that possibly they have to try and stop the didact from leaving,if you look at the vid you notice that they are not discussing about the infinity as a possible escape vehicle but rather staying to stop him which could mean he's, at that stage still rejuvenating from his long hibernation. Yep the covies had four years but i would say they are a group of covies that are out for the forerunner tech rather than a nutty group that still adhere to the journey religion. Requiem is a mini dyson sphere and possibly the domains server though i wouldn't count on it as it is rather small for a forerunner construct but anythings possible. Actually the covies though more advanced still wouldn't have the capability to reach outside the galaxy and find requiem in four years, too great a distance to be in slipspace that long once beyond any habitable resupply systems.I suppose that's why they built the ark out there, too far to make any difference and of course a trap if the flood could be lured there as in halo 3. Remember the forerunners hid their shield worlds in slipspace pockets as well. -
Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
Yes but if the person who shot this vid didn't upload it then we would be still be talking about whether cortana could be the antagonist,The covenant found a way to reach requiem, another portal somewhere? it would be highly unlikely that they stumbled upon it while zipping around outside the galaxy. They put the trailer together pretty good,no one can say it was deliberately misleading but at the same time one has got to look at it as just pieces of the story not the story. But it's the only thing we've got to go on. The didact awakens but then why would he need the infinity? he has the resources of requiem,he could've had a ship crystal thing like what his wife supplied him in his first cryptum.Surely he has ancillas that do his beck and call? unless he distrusts them. -
Halo 4 Live Cutscene (new Didact info)(SPOILERS)
Azeraph replied to Victory Element's topic in Halo 4
The "Him" word could mean anything, why i say this is the actor says"With respect sir,i know what i saw" not "We had a conversation and he told me" Faber supposedly executed the original didact on the San'shyumm homeworld but what if he composed him? what if that monitor didact was stationed on requiem and has gone rampant? If you watch the terminal vids 343 GS speaks of controls in place for madness if a monitor loses it's na-na. Now take what Kiki said at comicon san diego,"Requiem is a shield world that has been kind of breached" and then look at the trailers "An ancient evil awakens" and then look at the books,at how the authors portray the didact and the bornstellar didact. Nothing in the books points to the didacts as being or committing evil acts but you could be right,it could be the bornstellar didact that has chosen to sleep and was awakened when a reclaimer was scanned except why would kiki say that it was kind of breached.Something got in a long time ago? Requiem was compromised but by what?it's not us as we were sucked into it.The Covenant? they are the most likely culprits except they could've been sucked in as well and how did they get to requiem in the first place if requiem is outside our galaxy? were they trailing the infinty or were they there first? Another thing is why would the didact be a threat to humanity if he knew all what his wife the librarian was doing? Grief? because she chose to stay on earth as he pulled the trigger? in halo 3's terminals he speaks of something about "starting the long journey" what the hell is that all about? -
One thing that must be put straight is that the flood regardless of where it's parts are is one creature,it can bring individual minds forward but that doesn't mean that that mind has free will, take for instance a gravemind on earth and a gravemind on the ark,the only difference between the two is levels of experience but eventually they will connect via it's mobile floodforms and eventually data passed through the mobiles will update each one, unless one gets totally eradicated. The primordial at that time could've been the oldest part of the flood but it was not a singular being and it could've updated it's newer created selves while it was on chakas halo. One must look at the flood as a whole, not individual parts. Has anyone come up with the idea that the "Test" the primordial told the didact of, that humanity will face, will be whether or not to wipe out all life in the galaxy? that by surrendering to the flood willingly instead of trying to stop it is the test? or firing the halo's to preserve life even though it is threatened by an all encompassing threat like the flood is wrong and not worthy of the carrying the cloak of the mantle. Remember humanity was to be tested to see if it was worthy of the mantle and that the flood gave humanity a short reprieve of one hundred and one centuries and it used the term "Unity" and "Sweetness" I'm going to reread the books again to see if i've got it right.
-
On the E3 walk through demo trailer she says "World" and the official E3 trailer,i recognized the woman playing cortana, I'm sure they used her for previous games as well.
-
Doesn't the infinity have forerunner tech as well built into it? which i take it to also have superior drives and power source and slipspace drive as well, they can make point jumps.I think requiem has been compromised as it is visible where is Onyx was just the portal to the shield world which was hidden in slipspace. Yeah you're right Rex,she can't actively take over the chiefs systems, she might be able to play havok with you're adrenaline levels, body temperature, heart rate, lactic acid outflow, halsey did ask her if she could sacrifice the chief for the mission though that was probably from the point of view of how she felt towards him. Well sierra, that clip puts alot to rest, good find. The "Him" is obviously something/someone but not a gravemind and it also tantalizes you with the idea that the infinity stumbled upon requiem or the captain wants to warn ships off getting too close,Kiki did say at comiccon that requiem was "Kind of breached" which gives rise to the idea that something just realized the galaxy has repopulated and wants in again, try this on for size, the librarian snuck in a control system that if the halos were fired, it and all the forerunner tech would only respond to a human and only a human, nothing else,an outside force could compromise those systems but at a considerable amount of time and effort but not gain full control as humans were slated to carry the mantle but what if the librarian also locked out forerunners as well from using there own tech after the halo pulse? even those that were "composed" into ancilla's? As always it's pure speculation.
-
hang on i was wrong,it retains the memories of it's victims and possibly the minds but they are slaved to the collective and can't operate on their own.I don't think a gravemind can move around once it gets to a certain mass or gets fat,the primordial couldn't move on it's own though it was ancient,it moved it's leg but that broke off as it showed the didact that it's physical time was near. Thanks sierra, just watched it,it must have been an early take as cortana says "Planet" rather than "world" in the offical trailer.
-
Sorry, was away from the machine for a bit. It's a collective consciousness creature,it's singular parts are just parts but get it within range of it's other parts and communication and data flow begins hence the word "collective" i can't remember which book it had it in but the author went into great detail about the flood and how it moved it's parts around on a prison ship as it stalked a group of soldiers. I would say it communicated via pheromones and possibly telepathy when shifting it's selves around. It could lose whole sections of itself but retain the minds that those parts originally came from. Therefore when parts of the creature encounters other parts from distant worlds they update each other, the primordial was a gravemind but not a separate entity. Why else have mendicant bias activate the geas beacon to draw in those humans on the halo that chakas found himself on?If it's confusing then bring down a ebook called "The dragon never sleeps" by Glen cook 1987,old sci-fi and totally confusing but you will understand how a system can be managed across the galaxy if we could clone ourselves from a master file system, from a military perspective you could lose whole armies in the field but have them back up and running as fast as the gene tanks could spew them out, even recreate ships lost in battle with it's crews exactly the way they were before they were lost.i pulled it from a torrent as i couldn't find it out there in today's world, trust me read this book and you will understand the flood system. Ok, Halo 2,the grave mind is on the halo then it's on high charity but the grave mind was a huge immobile venus flytrap?so how did it get itself to high charity?
-
Sierra 1117,have you got a link to that cutscene? or is it here somewhere? remember when chakas and the young african girl with her grandfather were travelling towards her Geas and found that thousands of humans were blindly being led into whatever but it's safe to say that it was to be processed into flood forms? that's where the Primordial could've updated it's new selves and updated itself in the process or anytime during the 43 year gap.
-
I wouldn't want my A.I to go na-na on me while it was monitoring my armour, remember it also interacts with you within your mind through the implant,if it goes totally rampant it could lock up your armour or hold you to ransom and force you to do it's bidding but that's if she goes psychotic in her rampancy and breaks her hardcoded controls, halsey built her and she is unique,a stepup from the rest. from what there is she leaves the armour and is either in the infinty or in requiems systems at some point during the game.
