Well 343 definitely states that the flood will not be in H4 though the story will have characters that will refer to the flood there will be no physical appearance of them at all,too bad requiem is a shield world i was hoping it was a part of the didacts point offense plans that had been co-opted or it was a mass portal generator that linked to where the last forerunners went to. Unless the primordial was able to pass on it's individual knowledge and essence to other flood units which it could have as it spent a lot of time on mendicants halo and a flood unit survived the halo pulse and managed to go intergalactic or was preserved in storage on that halo and managed to get itself to requiem,it died by the didacts hand,yet in the terminal vids it shows a halo transformed by the flood so anythings possible but i wouldn't bet anything on it. There is an idea that the precursors has thrown down a card in their game,they put something on requiem but it's only an idea in response to the OPs line of thread. Something wants off requiem and from what "sierra 1117 says" in a post from "The Cortana theory" thread, that something wants to use the infinty,well the implication is there or that something can take over the captain or subvert a human and may well have compromised requiem but can't get off.

Well she said "Kind of been breached" but it looks like Requiem has been going around "Hoovering" up ships and junk.

Well going on what Kiki said at San diego,Requiem is a "Shield world that has been breached" and "Hasn't been inhabited for a few millennium" Obviously this could mean just about anything as she could be dancing around the edges of the storyline but for now it answers a lot. "Breached" by us or by what?

I'm sure it states somewhere that the precursors gave themselves over to the the flood and that it will wait one hundred and one centuries before it will test humankind.

Didn't the Primordial say to the Didact that the flood will test humanity? or they will be tested which means the forerunners were tested and found they didn't meet the standard.

i haven't followed all the dev's interviews or am up to play with the official "Tidbits",basically i'm running on data from the books and just the trailers,a lot to speculate on. Ok,Spartan Ops? They're training sims played out in holo-decks right? i wonder if they're going to follow up with an actual prize mission to complete your ranking as you move up? are these training sims spartan bootcamp weeding programs? Only the best can attain Spartan status. Cortana might sacrifice herself hence the words "I will not allow you to leave this world" she's a low storage simple human tech construct,compared to a metarch ancilla or a stoneage ax next to a chainsaw,i mean, 500 years and humanity is still using wheeled motorized vehicles. Requiem,meaning, a funeral song for the recently departed,so it's a monument to what? the forerunners? The librarian? The Didact? The or A precursor/s.My money is on a fortress world,designed to eliminate anything that stands in the way of the forerunners from taking back the galaxy but the plans went wrong. Use the infinity to escape? Isn't the ship down? What if Requiem is a prison,a trap sprung like halo 3? The infinity should have ship bays that can dock frigate class ships so maybe there is one that can be repaired,highly unlikely but I'm sure if you look at the trailer you can see that it can carry at least 3 if it was built that way. Get the book or ebook "The Dragon never sleeps" By Glen cook 1987,i read it as a kid,though it was old and dated what the man came up with for that time blew me away for sci-fi strategic space war and ships that are the size of small moons and the concept of distance verses supply and replacement personnel.It also introduces the reader to a different form of travel i haven't seen any other sci-fi book,it's old and dated and different but not john carter. Ok something wants to get off requiem,with all that technology at it's disposal and it couldn't manufacture a ship? or move requiem? and where is requiem that infinity managed to come across it without opening a portal close to the ark on the level of power that it took like that at the base at voi? I think it can move,it's under power. Maybe the unsc was able to get voi working again or make their own intergalactic drive,possibilities within possibilities.

It's too small to be a shield world,all the shield worlds are true dyson sphere's,a star encapsulated unless I've missed an interview or update somewhere that tells us what it is,It's not an ark or greater Ark as it is again too small.What if it's a fortress world,a promethean forces factory designed to create billions of A.I to combat the flood on a planetary level.I'm sure the other shield worlds were true dysons? except for Onyx and the one in halo wars. Probaly a shield world, all for the warrior servants and cryptum but that sounds too simple.

I had posted a "Possible cortana goes na-na and psyches out and becomes the antagonist" last week in a thread somewhere when trying to envision the chiefs nemesis but realised the character was too integral to the game,"Master Chief"="Cortana" no, "Master chief"=? he's got a suit designed to carry an A.I,specifically her A.I,the female element adds to the male "Save the universe,saves her" it would be a twist to have her ramp out and it looks from the trailer that at some point she gets into a system,possibly gets taken over by an ancilla or the antangonist or loses the plot and starts trying to kill the chief or starts killing the crew while keeping him alive for herself but it's more plausible for her to be taken over. Or she goes head to head with the antagonist whose trying to leave requiem but is stopping him/it by denying it egress. That wouldn't work as requiem is a weapon,well it should be,it's too small to be a shield world unless requiem is a cryptum I keep thinking what the hell is requiem? the best i can come up with is that it's just one of the didacts point offense weapons designed to kill planets on a singular level. unless requiem is or was part of the marginot line defenseOr it's the didacts monument to his wife

All versions change with the times,somethings work somethings don't,the Devs won't satisfy everyone just like governments and it's always a freaky one when introducing new things into a standard run but they got to otherwise it will feel out of date with current standards.I'm glad they kept the reach run option,don'y you think it would suck if you couldn't sprint in a 2012 game?

Actually she's based on halsey right and dropping into rampancy with a slight crush on the chief except A.I's die as their cores deteriorate so the game would have to incorporate a large chunk of the game to fixing her and my best bet is that the chief goes on the hunt to turn her into a metarch ancilla,it's the only way to save her or he gets reqieums ancilla to fix her or the infinities A.I which is a more modern construct fixes her,either way it would be a priority in the game story,to kill her off would kill the game.

The precursors created the flood then gave themselves over to it,one could say they were trying to bring about the mantle through unity. The forerunners rose up against their creators once they found out that they were inline for deletion,a failed experiment and humanity was the next in line for testing. There is more ways to communicate than just telepathy,i would say that the flood is a pheromone creature and can pass massive amounts of data through one flood form though it takes awhile before it reaches the point of emerging gravemind. I personally think that not all game character quotes from halo 3 can be referred to as solid evidence.it was a developing story at the time and alot has been written to explain things that didn't quite gel. Humanity are forerunner children,re-engineered by the lifeworkers to take their place if the halo's were fired.

The Didact was executed by faber,he could've been 'composed" or requiem is a point world,one of a fleet of worlds designed by the didact for pinpoint offense,a planet killer and savior. Either way,the chief ends up on requiem and the infinity just so happens to be in the same neigbourhood or was sent there to find the ark or any forerunner installations or requiem is en route to Erde tyrene(earth). 343 says that we haven't seen or encountered the evil before so speculating it's one of the characters from the books is wrong yet the inverted didact sign keeps leading everyone back to the didact,faber or a nutty metarch. My gut feeling is that the precursors are back getting ready to test mankind.

I was looking at some adverts for the game and it states"An ancient evil awakens bent on vengeance and annilhilation" which could be total na-na advertising splatter but going off that it looks like,in a offhand kind of way,forchencho and his buddies or faber or could be original didact gone mad?

CGI the movie,live action too awkward when it comes too ten foot or twelve foot aliens and the stunt work for death scenes though i think blom could of pulled it off i personally think a cgi version would go hand in hand with the game better.

Well, i have read the books and have looked at the trailer though i understand that the "I have long dreamed of this day reclaimer" could be linked to some other part of the game story and not to the inverted didact sign just to put a twist on the expected speculated story,that voice over could be a mad prophet linked to the covie forces. is there any material out there that states what reqieum is? it's purpose? what threat could be all universal that is contained in a small dyson sphere? Does cortana find something that allows her to operate beyond her lifespan but cannot leave reqieums systems or does the game story actually revolve around her being fixed by forerunner ancilla or become forerunner ancilla? if people can't take negative comments then they are too emotionally invested,it tells alot of how a person has inadvertantly misplaced the digital as personal physical territory,i fall for it all the time,we're all the same. Has anyone considered that the ultimate evil is a precursor AI designed to achieve their plans,has co opted reqieums systems and has incorporated all the nutty personas of the ancient humans into itself? The didact's story has nothing in it that states he hates humanity with a loathing that would transcend time,in fact if you read carefully he is activally taking part in his wifes plans for restocking the galaxy if the halos were fired which it was. What if cortana becomes a mad metarch ancilla and the ultimate evil,that would get the halo community up in arms.

It is questionable from what info there is to go on,Ok, reqeum is a shield world? or a mobile weapons platform designed for targetted point offense,in other words the deathstar,it's obviously mobile or is it?The didacts plans states for point offense while shield worlds house the picked survivors?in the trailer where the inverted didact symbol shows up the voice over states "I have long dreamt of this day reclaimer" The inverted symbol could be for that young forerunner who took on the didacts imprint but is not the original didact or it's faber as some say here or it could be a mad ancilla metarch class monitor that has too many persona's from ancient times coded into to it or it's a flood gravemind that took over the installation and survived in the system digitally? Anyone got any bright ideas. Cortana looks to manga or a teenager,for some reason i prefer the the original cortana,she looks more like a woman and a digital construct and they should'nt have applied vocoder to her in suit voice.
