  1. No because we accidentally discovered the flood. So they're gonna be coming back stronger than ever, so you can bet we'll be seeing human vs. covenant vs. promethean vs. flood battles. And I should explain what I meant. The forerunners did have the mantle, but the flood was a test to see if they were strong enough to keep it. And they didn't know what t was because they haven't encountered it before the end of the Forerunner-Human war. And it just spread through the galaxy. everythings right except the flood wasnt dormant on forerunner planets, it spread. And the ancient humans attacked forerunner planets because they couldn't communicate with the surface because its already been overrun with flood.
  2. I think that there'll be a season in 2013, and in 2014 Halo 5 comes out with a free season AND firefight.
  3. The Flood is basically the precursors test to see if a race can inherit the mantle, so yes, they're definitely coming back.
  4. This is here you can find the summary http://www.amazon.com/Halo-Silentium-Forerunner-Greg-Bear/dp/0765323982
  5. yeah but the data to living things has only resulted in "abominations". Imagine an ugly Cortana
  6. The Ur-Didact wasn't executed, but was just abonded in a flood infested system and later returned to the forerunner empire. It would make more sense if it was the Ur-Didact placed in the Cryptum and Bornstellar activated the Halo rings because the terminals show the Ur-Didact during the Human-Forerunner and he looks the same as the one in the game. Bornstellar was physically altered due to the brevet mutations, but he wasnt as muscular as a promethean and still resembled the physique of a human, while the Didact in the game was definitely a Promethean, so I'm basing my statement off of appearance.
  7. The game they're building has nothing to do with the halo universe, it's just gonna be an Xbox exclusive game.
  8. Well Reach could very well be canon, but Bungie tried to make a connection with Noble team and the larger halo universe by putting Dr. Halsey in the game. In the game, she knew that Noble consisted of Spartan-III's, but in the novels, she doesn't even know III's existed until the time Halo 2 is taking place, so that's half of the evidence. And in Reach you were supposed to bring Cortana to the Pillar of Autumn, but in the books she was aboard the ship the whole battle. These books were made before Reach, and they support the story of the original Halo trilogy, so they are definitely canon, and since Reach has these contradictions, it is non-canon. You can acknowledge that it's non-canon and completely disregard the games story, or you can do what I do and believe that Noble did exist in the Halo universe and did die fighting on Reach in these ways, but Halsey and Cortana weren't there. Hope this answered your question
  9. While I love the story of Reach, it's just a side-story, and if you read the book fall of reach, you'd know it helps explain Combat Evolved, so the book would be canon no matter what. There are two Didacts, the U-Didact and Bornstellar. The one we fought in the game was the Ur-Didact because the terminals revealed he fought in the Human-Forerunner war and Bornstellar wasn't even born yet, What you described is the legendary ending. I played the campaign in both normal and legendary and on normal, when they take his helmet off it cuts to black, but on Legendary, it shows his face. A small note, you have to play the game on legendary solo to see this because I completed it solo and replayed the epilogue and saw it, but when I had my cousin in my Xbox live party, it cut to black.
  10. Yes they have. Alot of Helljumpers enlisted because they were the best the UNSC had to offer.
  11. Spartan Ops happens 6 months after the campaign. Infinity goes back to Requiem to discover some more stuff.
  12. Nope. Cortana was made from Halseys brain. It's true that there is some forerunner data in her, but she is human made. Ancilla is the forerunner word for A.I. so when Didact called her that, he just meant A.I. And she is definitely not copied from the Librarian.
  13. The spartan he walked past was Sarah Palmer, she's a Spartan-IV. If you read First Strike, you'd know that Spartan-II's put two fingers on each others visors(where the mouth would be) to show they are happy they are there. It would be cool to see Kelly, Linda, or Fred walk up to John and do that, that'd make him taking his Elmer off seem more human.
  14. I found that moment when Del Rio yelled that very serious and thought it was really crucial for the development of chiefs humanity.
  15. If you look at a video with subtitles it says welcome. And she I think she means Earth when she says home because its the home of humanity, and his sole purpose is to defend humanity. I'm sure she meant Earth when she said home, but it could be for a different reason.
  16. it was actually "Welcome home John" but still
  17. You're assuming Cortana will become living tissue because she was created from Halseys DNA, and that she's with the librarian, both uneducated guesses because we don't know enough to say whether its true.
  18. In the books we've been told about the other Spartan-II's and we know there are four Spartan-II alive at the time of Halo 4, Kelly, Fred, Linda, and John. And Bungie said Spartan-458 was non-canon, so she isn't a character in the Halo Universe, she was just created for DOA. The other alive Spartans would never fight John because they were part of his squad Blue Team. And in that book you're talking about, First Strike, Chief does go back to Reach and he finds these few remaining Spartans and brings them to Earth with him. So we do know about the other Spartans and they would never fight against each other.
  19. The forerunners understood that there only purpose in the galaxy was to pass the mantle to mankind. That's why I their native language, their species name means forerunner. They saw that because the galaxy would basically be reset, it would be time for humanity to reclaim the mantle, so they didn't index themselves so humanity would be more superior.
  20. and now that they are showing current him people suddenly don't want to see him... Sometimes I just hate people :/
  21. Not at all. When they worked at bungie they were limited to that promise, but after joining 343 they didn't have to keep it because they weren't bungie anymore, and obviously they thought the same thing.
  22. I know! When I heard him say that and saw him and the other Spartans get ready for battle, it was just too much!
  23. I would say BF3 and BFBC2 are equal because in BF3, the scope is unbelievable compared to BC2. But I would see why you would prefer BC2.
