But he is referring to using the composer when he says several stuff (accused of a sin in ensuring forerunner ascendency) so it couldn't be before the Human-Forerunner War
-
Everything is right except fo when the Didact gives his epilogue. It is after the campaign because the Didact was never on trial after using the composer. He was unconscious when he was placed in the Cryptum, which you saw in one of the terminals. And what he says only applies to the current day. Humanity was nowhere near being a threat when he used the composer, so it only makes sense for it to have been in 2557
-
He was exiled twice, once he exiled himself, and then he was exiled for using the composer

So you're supposed to play the game on legendary in co-op to get the Mark VI armor, and you have to do it solo to see his eyes? Well it looks like I have my work cut out for me

So Chief is a Spartan-II, a super soldier. There are other Spartans, and they all came from that Spartan-II program. Halsey created the Spartan-II program, so she is viewed by all the Spartans as a kind of mother-figure. She also invented the MJOLNIR armor, which is the armor Chief and all the Spartans wear. She also created Cortana by cloning herself and using one of the clones brains to make her. She was that scientist yo have to protect in Reach, remember the one who gives Cortana to Noble 6? She is a really influential character in Halo and Im sure we'll be seeing her in the future games.

Halo 4s Campaign was lacking, and also very dissapointing. SPOILER

He was never in trial after using the composer, watch the terminals and you'll see that after he uses it we never see him talking to another forerunner other than the librarian. And he says humanity "Stands" as the greatest threat, as in they are a threat at that moment, which can only apply to 2557. This is what happened, Didact uses composer, then he uses the prometheans to fight the flood, afterwards on his ship, Linrarian sneaks up on him and shoots him unconscious. While he is unconscious,he is placed in the Cryptum. There is no way he could've said that to another Forerunner after using the composer.- 23 replies

you can't assume everyone will agree with you on everything. I agree with Vamphaery in that it was epic and I always felt that I was running out of time to save Earth. And when they mentioned the New Phoenix incident in Spartan Ops, it made me think that even though I did my best, I couldn't save everyone. So this was the best Halo end mission in my opinion.

Nope, it actually happens after chief "sticks" him because he says "Humanity stands as the greatest threat in the galaxy. Reclamation has already begun, and we are hopeless to stop it" Humanity was nowhere near being a threat when he was punished, and the incident with the flood and the events of Halo 4 is the beginning of reclamation he's talking about. That whole speech applies to current events. And the Didact was unconscious when he was placed in the Cryptum, so he could've never spoken to the other forerunners.- 23 replies

thats false. Cortana is never mentioned in the terminals because they focus on the Librarian and Didact
-
Exactly, so we aren't direct descendants, but related

You consider it incomplete i disagree. End of story. -
Even though I read the books I thought the terminals explained everything you need to know about their replies in forerunner society, but apparently I was wrong.

I just want another traditional Halo campaign. Something with a similar structure to Halo 4 would be fine.

Ok. So the Didact lost his children in the war, so that's his personal motivation. The Librarian is helping Chief because she is in charge if preserving life in the galaxy and keeping peace. Lord Hood is still alive, and Del Rio is n longer n charge of Infinity because he abandoned Chief on Requiem. The librarian was dead, that was just her mind as an A.I. kind of. And the Didact was in Requiem, which is a shield world, which is safe from the effects of the Halo rings. And it is possible that there are other forerunners still alive. Hope this helped

Humans were not descendants if forerunners. Both us and the forerunners were created by an even greater species called the precursors, and humans had a war with Forerunenrs thousands of years before the firing of the halo rings, therefore ending the theory that they e the same species. They are genetic cousins if anything
-
The librarian and the Didact are not plot devices. They are characters that are just as crucial to the story of Halo as Master Chief. And the terminals explain why they exiled the Didact on requiem

Anyone else feel like not a lot was done with the Bad Guy?
Sierra1117 replied to Predalian5's topic in Halo 4
Ok. It's not. Just because the war was never mentioned doesn't mean it never happened. And Spark was wrong and right . We aren't descendants of Forerunners, we're genetic cousins, but forerunners were supposed to pass the mantle down to us so n a sense we are descendants of them. And humans aren't supposed to reclaim their past, but they're supposed to reclaim the mantle. Read the books and tell me I'm wrong. -

Its not about logic. It's about equality. We all have a right to say what we think and you guys are denying us that right. -
1. She was talking about Gaeas. She basically put the Genes of the Didact in him when he was born, and they were dormant. Thats what she was activating. And it's supported by the fact that Chief can hear the Didact speaking in his mind only after the Librarians activates those genes.2 and 3. The chief is obviously human, we've read descriptions of his face and you can clearly see a human nose, this "evidence" is just wrong.

So you want Halo 5 to be like Mass Effect without interacting with the crew?
-
343 said he would included/mentioned in some of the episodes, but I don't think there'll be any DLC devoted to him. Spartan Ops is what's supposed to tie into Halo 5.
-
Its obvious you don't know anything about Halo other than what you see in the games. Bungie gave us a description of Chiefs face in the books and he talks quite a bit in the books.

Sierra1117 replied to Predalian5's topic in Halo 4
The Human-Forerunner war is not a retcon. We never knew what happened before the firing of the Halo rings, so when we learned there was a war between us and the forerunners, which we found out 2 years ago, we didn't see it as a retcon, but just more info on the universe. And there are little to no retcons, so you should expand your knowledge on the universe before making assumptions. -
I agree with you completely, but I also wanted to let you know that 343 said somewhere that Halo 5 is gonna have the darkest story in the series. So imagine a whole game with the tone of the last 3 levels
-
The Forerunner-Human War is not a retcon at all. They explained that there was a war with the humans in Hal Cryptum, so we knew about it for 2 years, and It doesn't conflict with any knowledge we already have. And there is no way the Didact or Del Rio are plot devices. The Didact has been a character in the universe for 2 years now, and Del Rio was in The Thursday War. The fact that 343 would spend that much time developing these characters proves they're important. And the Ddact isn't idiot, read Cryptum and Primordium and you'll understand.
