  1. Even though the next generation of consoles are just around the corner, Microsoft continues to try and sell the current Gen Xbox to gamers around the world. This week, Microsoft have announced the Xbox 360 250GB Value Bundle at an attractive price, most likely in an attempt to make one more large profit off of the aging console. The Bundle contains the Xbox 360 250GB Console,a Wireless controller,Headset, a copy of Darksiders 2 and Batman Arkham City via Download as well as one month of Xbox live for Free all for a price of $299. This bundle will only be available for a limited time in select US retailers (and Amazon.com) this spring. Since this bundle does not contain the Kinect Sensor, it seems as if this bundle is meant to attract core gamers to but the aging console, if they haven't already. At the current time, there are no plans for a bundle including the kinect sensor, but more then likely we will see a few more deals made by Microsoft to sell as many of the Xbox 360 consoles as possible before the Next Generation of gaming platforms kicks into gear. Many will see this as a last ditch effort to make money, which in many cases is true. This does not mean the deal isn't good though, it's a bargain especially if you haven't come into much money, AKA College students. Microsoft is supposedly announcing details about the next generation Xbox this April. A great deal? Would you purchase this? Discuss below

  7. (The following is a self written article using facts on the internet about the 60th Motion Picture Sound Editors Awards) We all remember the hype when Forward Unto Dawn was announced. We all remember the excitement after watching the first trailer... and we definitely remember the drool we had to clean up on the carpet after we watched the first episode of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. Finally though, FUD has been officially recognized at the 60th annual Motion Picture Sound Editors Awards by winning the Best Sound Editing Award for Computer Episodic Entertainment, even beating out other sch titles like Battlestar Galactica's Blood and Chrome, Cybergeddon, Drone, and H+ The Digital Series: African Aid. Forward Unto Dawn was Microsofts first true foray into visual entertainment in a more movie-esque style. With it's budget being described as either a "High budget internet film" or a "low budget movie" , Forward Unto Dawn has become very popular amongst Halo fans, with only a few fiction based errors spotted by the Hardcore Fans. Other than that, it was a major success, and proved that Halo can expand into the cinema realm rather successfully. Among the most noted successes of the Episodic Series, were it's feeling of mystery and dread when the covenant where first uncovered, and the true sense of fear felt by the students of Corbulo Academy. Many of us agree that FUD could lead to Microsoft funding a full blown movie themselves, however, only time will tell where this will lead, for now we must sit content with what we have been given.... Should Halo finally be given a full blown movie? Or should we wait till they have exhausted the games? Discuss below
  8. (The following is an article completely written by myself with quotes from Kiki Wolfkill made in an interview by Polygon) 343 Industries have taken control of the Halo franchise over a year ago and have big plans for it. But those plans don't always involve the chief. In an interview with Polygon Kiki Wolfkill stated "He's always going to be a pretty critical component of Halo and the game experiences. I would hope that we could also build strength and investment into other characters, for no other reason than that's part of what makes the universe interesting" This could possibly hint at a new protagonist for future Halo generations to play. Much like Sergeant John Forge from Halo Wars or the Rookie from Halo ODST. However, it also may hint at more then one game for each of these characters. Rumors have surfaced many times of a Halo Wars 2, and while it may not be confirmed, rumors this big usually come true. Kiki went on to state: "How we look at it is 'Where do we want Halo to be in ten years? What are the stories we want to tell? We have started to flesh out broad strokes of a few different archs that are interesting" While this isn't conformation, we can perhaps be seeing another character, or character's that will be just as fleshed out as the Chief, and this is a welcome change in my opinion. while the chief is iconic, we can't keep Halo alive on a single character. Fleshing out and exploring the exploits of different characters allows us all to experience the Halo universe in more depth, especially for those of us who do not read the books. There are many stories to tell and places to explore, it's just up to 343 Industries to bring these idea's to life, and give us something to have fun with, something that tells a story, both full of action AND adventure. "There could be opportunities where exploring a different genre makes sense or exploring a different linear format makes sense. If the medium fits what we want to do, then we'll definitely consider it. If there's a great idea we get energized around it" Kiki stated. Halo has mostly centered around FPS, and only briefly explored RTS in Halo Wars. This sort of branching out allows 343 to explore different possibilities, and as Kiki stated, they are considering different Genre's to see if they fit 343's vision for Halo. We all know 343 want to make their mark on Halo and it's exhilarating universe, it's just how this comes into practice that have many people both excited and worried. Some people prefer Halo to say safe within the realms of FPS, while others want it to flesh out, and explore more Genre's of interest. In my own personal opinion, I'd love to see Halo branch out, Id love to explore the universe in more depth, not just in the books, but from something i can play and experience visually. Halo has become more then JUST a game, it's a cultural phenomenon that has changed generations of games since its first release in 2001. The first ten years created the universe and the games standards, but it's these next ten years that will define Halo for future Generations. What do you guys think? Should Halo Branch out and explore more Genre's and characters? Or stay as it currently is? Discuss in the comments

  16. The Following article is an original work by myself using confirmed information from sources. A question I have seen asked by many involves destiny and an internet connection. So I can confirm now that it does indeed require a constant connection. For one, Destiny features a “persistent online world” that requires a constant Internet connection — even for the solo campaign. SOURCE What this means is that while you continue to play Destiny and discover the computer controlled A.I's you will stumble across real life players. This add's to the feal that Destiny will be a crossover of several gametypes, including MMO, however it wont be subjected to just an MMO atmosphere. However, similar as to how WoW works, Bungie can host community events, contests and add live entertainment;it's been confirmed that there are day and night cycles and real time weather, Destiny is shaping up to be rather huge in the world of gaming. There are optional side quests for players to embark upon by themselves or with friends and many larger quests taht have an effect on how the world develops. Activisions's CEO Eric Hirshburg calls Destiny a “shared world shooter,” and one that’s “ambitious in is scope, innovative in its approach and elevated in its tone.” Bungie has also confirmed that it DOES NOT require a monthly subscription fee contrary to an early rumor, meaning after you buy the game, it's yours to play for free as long as you want. Among other things, the world will continue to evolve when your offline, special events will occur while your offline and continue to change your experience as you play further into the game. Bungie plans on releasing new info in the coming months. Syko's Note: So while I believe Destiny will be an excellent game......It's only flaw to me, is it's internet requirements, since i know many gamers who prefer offline play.
  17. well, I have all the symbols...I translated...re arranged...and Sent Red Rocket a PM...Hopefully all goes well :3
