This was released a few hours ago by the Independent. Scott explains a few things about the decision to keep the Covenant involved in some way with the next tier in the Halo series. Scott: It’s an interesting and challenging process, we knew that we didn’t want to leave the Covenant because we thought that they were… well, I personally came to Halo deeply inspired by their AI, that was the number one thing that was really important to me. So from the very moment we started the project we really want to include the Covenant and continue to have them as a centrepiece of Halo. He also talks about the new "feel of Halo, and it's evolving nature as a more "mature" game. Scott: There are certainly those threads. I would say that, I mean in addition to trying to make a, I wouldn’t say darker, but rather more mature story, and just kind of thought through story, we have definitely tried to develop character in a way that we felt like could be improved upon, and so we wanted to try and really emphasise the character of the Master Chief and the character of Cortana and really try and play upon those characters and make them people that the players cared about. But also what we really wanted to do was build a sense of mystery back into Halo, because there are really great creative decisions to try and make gritty realism in Halo, to explore some backstories, and one thing that we thought that was really fascinating to us, really interesting to us, is always the sense of mystery. The first time you showed up to the Halo ring you’re not quite sure what it is, why it’s been built, who’s there, what’s there, and we really wanted that back in the series, and so a large part of our creative emphasis has been trying to play upon that desire to want to have some sense of mystery in the game This is a great read, and definatly one to look up on, the following is the link. http://www.independe...r-8021773.html -Edited for readability by moderator-

Hey Guys, Mr.Wolfy has recently started helping me in the Shout outs by Interviewing the people i Shout. This is the first Interview from my first Shout Out, and Don't worry, more will come -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello 343i community this is yours truely, Mr. Wolfy, and welcome to shoutout interview #1 with shoutoutee The Director! So let's get this thing started! Kaatisu: Ok, first question is a big one that gives you lots of room to shoot back from: what are your feelings on what you've seen so far of Halo 4 ranging from the new weapons, new vehicles, new abilities, the way the multiplayer and forge modes will work, the introduction of the much talked about spartan ops, down to the new armors seen and ranking system that we were given a brief peak at? The Director: I feel as if it is going to be an amazing game, and that I will probably fight my way to the front of the line to get it when it comes out. Kaatisu: The second question is your favorite passtime when not on the website? The Director: I like to play video games and read. That and doing whatever I can to get money is pretty much all I do when I'm off the site. I hang out with friends occasionally, but not that often. Kaatisu: The big number three is, on a scale of one to ten, one being the least and ten being the best, how would you rate your experience on this site so far? The Director: Considering I've been here for over a year and haven't willingly left yet, it's pretty obvious that it's a ten lol Kaatisu: Number four is what game comes in second to Halo for you? The Director: This one is a bit tricky. In the past, it used to be games like KOTOR, Dues Ex, etc. However, those franchises don't release new games very often anymore (not at all for KOTOR) so these days it's Minecraft. Kaatisu: And number five is what was your reaction when you first noticed you had been given public recognition in a shoutout? The Director: I was touched, but I don't do what I do for public recognition. It's nice to get, but isn't my ultimate goal. I help those I help so that they can help others as well, and thereby make the human race a bit better for it. Kaatisu: Thank you for your time and gratz on being the first of many to be recognized by the community as a key figure! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks Wolfy for your help with this, and of course, thank you to The Director for his help in making our Community a better place. Also i in no way intend for this to be a copy of Drizzies work. As i enjoy his interviews quite alot

Actually spartans can be infected, the Master Chief was almost infected at one point. It is just difficult to infect them due to there suits systems, otherwise there just normal humans with genetic enhancements
-
Wait, do Elites differ in height? I know that Ripa Moramee was HUGE, but he seems like the only "tall" elite
-
I wish it was in soe ways, but im also happy it wasnt, just so the game was kept pretty much the same as it was back in 2001

What was your armor color in Combat Evolved?
SykoWolf replied to highplainsdrifter's topic in Halo CE + Anniversary
It amazes me how people have kept there Spartans the same colour throughout the series. Just as i have done (not including secondary colours)- 47 replies

Also, i need to know (if anyone knows this) if a prophet leads the Storms or if it is an Elite ?
-
After talking to Twinreapers, i realise that the addition of blood stains, dead bodies and ammo cartridges would be very difficult to render and would take a toll on the system itself. So we wont see this sort of stuff till the next Xbox more then likely.
-
Plus i just noticed that i have been calling them the "storms" in all my posts recently And does anyone know if a new Prophet leads them?

I hope halo 4s multiplayer will not only focus on the mid ranged weapons.
SykoWolf replied to eliawesome's topic in Halo 4
I understand what you are saying, but they didn't feel over powered to me. It was usually just peoples play styles and the maps that would give an advantage to the mid ranged weapons, and with the new maps in Halo 4, i think it will feel more "relaxed" to you guys -
Hey again guys, and welcome to Volume 6 of the Community Shout Outs. It's been a good week so far and im hoping to make it even better for one special person ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok this next person that i will be talking about is an MLG expert (yes you already know the name now, but i must continue this) he is a Brit, and a good friend. Yes that's right, i am talking about Mr. Biggles Mr.Biggles is our communities MLG expert, but he is also more then that, he is a good friend to many of us, including yours truly. (aka MEEEE!!!!) He is a great guy to have a chat with and is more then welcoming to the new people in our community, which is a trait that i found extremely great when i first arrived at our Great Community He is always willing to have a chat about almost anything you can think of, especially Halo matchmaking (cough* MLG *cough). Mr .Biggles also provides our community with much needed news about Halo 4, something we ALL appreciate, especially me I have known him since my second day in our Great Community and have found him to be a great bloke to hang out with (in the shout box) as have many of you great people, and for the last 2 weeks of my time here, he has been a consistently good friend. So in conclusion, Mr.Biggles is a great bloke to hang out with and have a few games of Halo with. So here's to you Mr.Biggles, you have more then deserved this (p.s Dont let him get his hands on the sniper, for the love of god!!!, do not let him get it!!!) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok guys, the next shout out will be tommorrow and it will be the last one until next weeks Shout Outs. Also BIG NEWS!!! Mr.Wolfy has teamed up with me to interview the people who i Shout Out, so you all can get a better view of what goes on in these peoples magnificent skulls Thank you Mr.Wolfy

Only 23,534 people online right now! What is going on?
SykoWolf replied to Cassius55's topic in Halo Reach
Naaa, not much to worry about. It will pick up eventually -
I noticed during the Campaign gameplay vid from E3 that the Master Chiefs shields went down quite quickly from the Crawlers shots. Now i know many will just pen this down as Promethean weapons being much more advanced but i have a problem with that. In previous iterations of the Halo series there was a rock paper scizzors sort of weapon power pyramid. The covenant weapons were good at taking down shields but not so much at taking down health. The UNSC weapons were the complete opposite and the flood had were effective at taking down both. Now while the promethean weapons are more powerful you would think that they would be better at taking down health due to the fact that during the last years of the Forerunners lives they were fighting the flood and so there weapons would have been adapted at taking down organic material. So my question is this, why does the Master Chiefs shields go down so quick? And i do suppose it could be attributed to difficulty settings.
