So... Hawks?
-
It would be moving really, really fast o.O

Well, a few things. 1. This ranking system has been considered "social" and progression based from the very beginning. Just because they're calling it the 1=50 system (+70 lol) doesn't mean there won't be a second rank system in play, in certain playlists, like in Reach. 2. I highly, highly doubt that it will take very long to get to 50. I would imagine it might take a little less time than to get to general in Reach. Because there are 130 levels. Not 50. 3. I swear multiple times they have mentioned Halo 4 having separate playlists for ranked and unranked games. Not confirmed, just mantioned. I guess we'll find out soon.

I use Armor Lock the most. Because, the majority of players don't seem to understand how to counter/respond to it. Because I've always hated Rockets in Halo, and Reach actually offered a direct counter to it. Because it's cool. I use Jet Pack second most. Flying in Halo is just the ****. In Halo 4, I plan to play around a lot. So far, Hardlight Shield and Thruster Pack perk my interest most, but the other abilities look pretty awesome as well. I will probably run a CQB class with an AR and Shield. a Long Range class with DMR and PVision. a Medium class with BR or Light Rifle and Thruster Pack or Jet Pack.

I used to like blue for a primary. While it's still my favorite color, now I like white Spartans. With blue secondary.

I really do wish, as a sign of good faith, that they had the BR as default unlocked. I don't really mind having to unlock it, but as a matter of principle, just that weapon would put people at ease. I think the other issue here is that bleed is back (right?), and that alone will make any AR twice as deadly.

Don't think Valhalla because that new map looks too similar. While those elephant or whatever images hint at Sandtrap, I'm going to go ahead and say... Last Resort.
-
Wow. Lots of stuff. I could use a lot more visor. Too many of the helmets look very foreign and strange. Unlike 3 and Reach. But, they have Scout. And better than Reach Scout. So woot.
-
I don't understand people that complain that the game (Multiplayer) is too easy. It's like, really? Everyone's a noob? Then why aren't you a top level player? Or why don't you just win all the time, and enjoy it?
-
Exactly how people reacted when AA's were announced. I for one, liked ALL of them. Yes, even AL. Especially AL. Then go play CoD.
-
I don't think 1v1 would have a pop issue. It didn't in 3. After-all, you only have to find ONE other player. Some of the fastest MM in Halo 3 if I remember.

VIP was awesome, Elimination game modes are awesome, this would probably be very fun. I support 343 doing playlists that revolve more interesting games like this. And bring back VIP. With VIP custom settings done right, you could friggen MAKE this game you're talking about.

No. There are many other, and better reasons Halo became big. One is the sandbox and physics itself, but the main reason is that it took it self very seriously, and had a high quality presentation. Furthermore, it was one of the only games that: 1. Was a blast casually with friends 2. Had a deep combat system that rewards skill 3. Was slow paced and logical, whereas most shooters of the same type are crack induced cluster****s. As far as I'm concerned, these tenants are still true. While I am just as curious and concerned as the next guy, giving players small advantages doesn't undo "Deep combat system that rewards skill" overnight. It will still be deep. It will still reward skill.

Wouldn't mind this, although unlike ODST, I think it shouldn't be treated as a whole game. Like a 30$ add on or something. This would allow them to finally make them actually play completely differently than Spartans. Like, not just stats, different style of moving and aiming too.

advantages of geting the limited edition halo 4 game and console
Dawn Wolf replied to Ins4nek1ll4's topic in Halo 4
If I had a job I'd consider the console. Blue lights are sexy. But one issue there always is is that the console gives the standard edition of the game. Shouldn't it be less of a pain to get both the LE and console? -
Where are the normal helmets!? When are we going to see helmets that actually have normal visors and crap? XP The Ranger one there isn't so bad, but it's almost an exception now!
-
Well, the last 10, and perhaps each 10 after, I'm sure will take much longer than the first 10 levels. It will likely be just as long as going from 1-50. Just look at CoD, or even more extreme, Reach.
-
Halo: Reach has much less lag. I don't care for the idea of join in progress. I've liked that each game of Halo is a commitment. Of course, I understand that a lot of players think nothing of this, and leave at the drop of a hat. I don't care for the idea for 4v4, but I think it could save BTB. As it stands, BTB can become a downright bore when everyone starts leaving, and there's still 20 minutes on the clock. And BTB is more of a just for fun cluster**** anyway.
-
Ruined for who? You? It certainly wouldn't be ruined in general. Last time I checked, Halo: Reach still worked on the principle of that quote, just with more dynamic gameplay, and more crying babies. But yes, there surely will be a "Classic" playlist. And you can go and play only it. Meanwhile, the rest of us will play it, as well as the rest of the playlists, and see what works and what could use work in Halo 4.

While I am generally against cutting out pre-exsisting features, I'm perfectly fine with this one. Halo has always been about Spartans more than Elites, and with the newfound focus on Spartans as a whole, and a new trilogy, and a new enemy, I'm fine retiring them for multiplayer purposes. Sure many people like them, but they have never been the heart and soul of Halo the way Spartans have. To be honest, it always took me out of the game when I would bump into an Elite in Halo 3. They just seem like they don't belong in a competitive arena with fighting humans, ran by humans, and Halo 4 now makes this cannon. And their removal would be a very silly reason to lose interest in Halo 4.
-
Well, assuming they cut that AA out of certain playlists (like 1v1), because they might consider it too powerful. Like Armor Lock with doubles. But I mean either or custom or playlist. Really, like I said, Reach doesn't have the option. And H3 did, but it could easily be sabotaged by suicides. It's never been in Halo in a truly working manner.

Without getting into any sort of CoD vs X game argument, one of my favorite things about Call of Duty is that it actually has an elimination based gametype. Something that so many games, including Halo, seem to lack. I like elimination games because it- 1. Is inherently exciting and gets your blood pumping in a unique way, even when only spectating. 2. Forces players to consider their every move, and actually make rash or defensive decisions they wouldn't normally have done. Much like in TS when the score is 49-49. Except in every game. All the time. 3. It makes for some interesting, football esque positioning play. The initial rush becomes not only important, but all important. 4. Any complaints with unfair spawning systems or anything of the sort is suddenly null. 5. Leads to some one of a kind clutch moments, with a crowd to boot. 6. Is phenomenal to play with teams. 7.. It's a blast. Halo could EASILY have a wonderful elimination based gametype. There are many ways to go about it. Obviously, one of the first issues that would be addressed are the weapons. I think many power weapons would have clip reductions, like in Reach's current doubles. Also, I would imagine that some weapons like the Rocket Launcher should be absent entirely. While Halo has barely touched on this concept before, it has never been truly realized. Halo 3's elimination based scoring was a decent attempt, but it suffered from problems. One of which was that there was no way to prevent enemy players from simply killing themselves to end the round without penalty without turning off friendly fire. Plus, it was never realized ever in a playlist. Halo: Reach sadly failed to even include THIS option, and had no elimination scoring option at all. It's important to remember that what is needed is scoring so that the team that wins gets a point, not each kill the team gets. This way, all but one players could be dead on a team, but that player could still win the round alone and get the point for their team. This was not possible in Reach. It would not in the least be hard to put in the game, at LEAST for customs. I will be very disappointed if this is not present in Halo 4. There are several ways to actually go about such a playlist. The game could revolve around an objective, so as to give players intensive to actually fight. I don't believe this is necessary however, and there are other ways to drive the game. One way, which would also work for a 1v1 playlist, would be to have a power up spawn in the center of the map. This would offer 150m enhanced radar for 5 seconds to the user, giving the ability to vaguely locate any hiding players without having to sacrifice radar or lack of waypoints. I would really like to have an elimination based gametype and or playlist. What do you guys think?
-
If you're easily getting killed by average players because of Jet Pack or Armor Lock enough for it to be an issue, you're doing something wrong. Or they're doing something right.
-
Yes. I would. Though not in the way that Halo 3 did it. Duels (Waypoints above players heads) is not the way to go. Neither is no radar. No radar encourages camping more than radar. Not that I care about camping. Halo 3, for those who don't remember, instigated this system, as well as awkward versions of the maps that featured fusion coils everywhere, and really odd weapon placements. You had to learn the entire playlist and it's strangely made maps. Instead of waypoints, and instead of no radar, and all this other business, they should spawn a power-up int he center of the map that grants the user 150m enhanced radar for 5 seconds. This sill easily help find any hiding players, but at the risk of being shot at yourself (which will also give away their location). And please, no rockets. Honestly.
-
Yeah, and if you guys remember, it was the exact opposite about the time Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4 came out. While I have always sided with Halo, and would strongly defend it (as I did) in hate rage attacks from CoD fans, I would also defend CoD today from Halo fans. Both games, surprisingly, are good games. Both games sell very well because many people like both games. Because they're fun. I find that especially today, now that hating CoD is all the rage, people make some pretty biased and unfair arguments against the series, much like people did against Halo when CoD was still fresh and new. The game isn't trying to be another game. It's trying to do what it set out to do well, and that's more than a lot of other games can say today. People can not like it, that's fine. But to say things like, "The game sucks," or "The game has terrible graphics," or, "Anyone who plays it is stupid" is pretty biased and unfair. CoD does plenty of things right, and gets a bad rap for a lot of things that just aren't fair.
