  1. Tic Tac Toe, or any other painfully simplistic game where only a handful of outcomes exsist do not apply. Not the point. In Halo 4, just like any other game, you either succeed in killing an enemy, or fail. You win the game, or lose. With an almost unlimited amount of possibilities. If the game is so easy, why aren't people who think it's easy pro? Because it's all about who you're fighting.
  2. It can kill faster than the DMR. It's just difficult to do. It's a very unforgiving weapon. If you're not doing well with the Carbine, it's probably your fault.
  3. Yeah it really should be in. They should take out the Banshee and Mantis. It would be great.
  4. Multiplayer games, by their very nature, cannot be "easy". Especially Halo. If you're good, fine. But it's not as if there's some AI you're fighting. If you're winning all the time, it's possible the truskill hasn't racked you up yet. It will.
  5. I've never heard any proof of this.
  6. Hmm. Well, if so, I stand corrected. It must have been a temporary playlist. I played H3 from Jan 08 till Reach came out, and I always WANTED such a playlist. I'm always so bummed out when I go into Custom games and there is NO option for this. I suppose the game would just have to played by the round, to ensure proper win/loss scoring. But still. If 343 (Hopefully) is going to update gametypes in H4 (Where is Assault/Juggernaut/etc.), I hope they consider these options as well. Most people seem to like the idea. I'm curious to see more people vote on here.
  7. Well, but here's the thing. It worked FINE in Halo 2, 3, and Reach did it not? The part about FINDING a match? I mean, I don't recall it often taking much longer than it does in H4 to find a game. If someone leaves afterwards, great, replace them. But I don't see what's so hard about the old method of searching for players. It worked. It still does. It can with H4.
  8. I'm curious how the community rates the Armor Abilities. Vote for which one you think is the BEST. Even if it's not the one you use most. Also, I would recommend posting them in order. As so: 1. P. Vision 2. Regeneration Field 3. Camo 4. Thruster Pack 5. Hardlight Shield 6. Autosentry 7. Hologram 8. Jet Pack
  9. ^ Proof? They said they're adding FFA Oddball and Hill, but that's all I heard of.
  10. Eh, I agree with the OP. I think most people would rather wait the extra 30 seconds than get put into a 2v4. It's just... Very unHalo. It's something Halo has never done. And for good reason. Join in session is fine, but really, just take the time to find a proper match up. ESPECIALLY on objective.
  11. Here's the thing. While the DMR does technically come out on top, the DMR and the BR are still VERY close. Most nerfs to the DMR would be too much, and would likely make the BR too much better.
  12. Hide and seek has a unique angle of fun to it. Camping is not ALWAYS a bad thing. And as stated, there are many ways around it. Promethean Vision, for example. Halo 3 never had such a playlist. Squad Battle was simple 6v6.
  13. Most games I join are below 25% complete.
  14. So, why have we never seen this? I'm talking about a playlust/gametype/option that allow games to play Elimination style. As in, Kills don't actually matter, whichever team eliminates the other first, wins. Before people say, "We have that, you can turn the lives down to 1," it isn't the same thing, and let me explain Halo's recent history of this. Halo 3 actually DID support this the most so far. It had an option under scoring called "Elimination". It gave 1 (Or however many designated) point to the player who killed the last remaining member of the enemy team. It worked decently. It has it's problems, however. Players had nothing to lose by killing themselves to end the round. The other team would not get a point. If suicide penalties were on, it would ruin the game for everyone else on the team, having each suicide cost the team an entire round. If there were no penalties, there was no fix for this. Same problem for Betrayals/Friendly fire. Halo: Reach however, scrapped the elimination score option. It was no longer there. It was virtually impossible to play any real Elimination based game with a proper score system. Halo 4, sadly, is the same. There is no support other than simply lives, but that's not the same thing. That still lets the team with more KILLS, not more WINS win the game. Why don't we have this in Halo? Some of my favorite actual gametypes are from other games, like CoD and Gears, with things like Search and Destroy, and Warzone. Those gametypes always get my blood going. But so does Halo. And the combination of them would be amazing. Now, I know some people think it wouldn't work. I disagree. I think it's doable. People might say that the weapons are in issue. I disagree. I think maps would have to cut out any high tier power weapons, such as Rockets or Incineration Cannon. Focus should not be on whichever teams gets these weapons first. People also say that excessive camping/hiding could be an issue. Well, Halo 4 has the highest amount of anti camp options yet. P. Vision, and Increased Sensors, as well as the nature of the maps help resolve this. However if this is still an issue, they could always put a nuetral powerup in the middle of the map, which grants Enhanced Radar for 5 seconds. This would effectively tell the person who actually risked coming out into the open where the hiding players are, in a general sense. There is also the option of adding in an objective aspect to the game, ala Search and Destroy. Anyhow, don't you guys think that this type of game would be great? It's the one style of game that Halo has always missed. And it makes me sad. I long to see this style of gametype in Halo, at LEAST in customs!
  15. How about TEAM ELIMINATION. I've wanted this for freaking years. Most other games have it, it would work great with Halo. Freakin Halo 4 doesen't even have custom options set up for this style of play!
  16. In the meantime, keep playing until you can win every game.
  17. While I could see the argument that they're slightly less common, I have 1v1 duels all the time in H4. And they're more intense and dynamic than ever...
  18. Wow, SO much faster than Reach... Inheritors would be SR130 several times over!
  19. Well, I'll say they do like a TEENY bit skinny. Their arms for example. look sort of odd. I'm fine without the giant asses. (Not that I don't like giant asses.)
  20. Oh please. This business about Halo not playing like Halo, or even funnier, Halo playing like CoD is quite silly. Halo 4, plays NOTHING like a Call of Duty game. Anyone who actually think it does either: -Has never played Halo 4 -Has never played CoD -Lacks the intelligence to understand either one of them As it so happens, at their very core, these two games play fundamentally different from each other. Halo, at its core, is about: -Accurate Hipfire Combat -Gladiatorial Combat -Weapon Variety -Abstract, Functional Map Design -An engine designed to make you feel like a supersoldier -Dynamic, three dimentional, engagements, that make use of the Halo triangle These things have NOT changed. They could change things like: -Loudouts -Bells and Whistles -Progression System -Killcams/Spawning/Balance Not necessarily for better or worse, and the game would still be Halo at its core. If you think Halo plays like CoD, you really, REALLY don't understand these games. And for the record, I love both games. Also, what is this nonsense about 343 ruining Halo by giving everyone rifles? Throughout my H3/R career, I can remember countless bitching from myself and others about spawning with ARs, and having little chance to turn a game around once the other team got control. Players were always complaining about the AR in general, and that the weapon takes "no skill to use". In fact, I recall people 9 out of 10 times voting for BRs instead of Slayer when it would come up, because that was the type of game that really dominated Halo. I remember playing AR slayer on Valhalla and thinking, why does this option even exist? Yes, its true, AR slayer does bring something to the table that Rifle slayer does not. It can be interesting, and I wouldn't mind seeing options for both at times. But if we had to choose? Come on now. When playing H3/R, I never would have thought people would COMPLAIN about being given a DMR/BR every game. And in Reach, everyone and their moths complained about Bloom. Now that it's gone, and we have DMRs, people complain, of all things, that the game takes no skill. My god.
  21. I would say that I like it... If it had some semblance of a challenge/tension. I HATE the fact that it has unlimited lives, and a "spawn you right back into the firefight 2 feet away" system. When you boot up a game, there is no losing it. I can't stand that. It makes it more of a boring kind of lazy slag, than a sharp, well thought out run.
  22. No decent game has a one year dev time. No, not even CoD.
  23. Yes this. No radar takes focus away from marksmanship, as does the pistol. The game should revolve around sniping, not people running around getting easy kills because you're facing the wrong way. And I have no idea what the OP is talking about in terms of a delay...
