Hey, I've played halo from the beginning and I have to say, as much as there have been improvements, there's still things that I think could be done better, first off, I think it would be a good idea to be able to hold onto a detatched weapon such as a mounted machinegun while in a passenger seat. in gametype options, I hope more diversity will come out of it, and more simplicity, for example, if in invasion, more phases (i know this is away from the simplistic part but bear with me) I mean, three phases is cool, but it's also a good idea to impliment your own storyline to the invasion.
it would be cool if you could actually voice your own introduction into the game, or at least have a text that displays on the helmet. another thing that I would like if this gametype comes back, invasion should have more than just red and blue teams or all one color, each side should be aby color so long as they are different. another thing, invasion should also be spartans versus spartans, or elites versus elites. it doesn't give the proper feel to it if it's always human versus alien.
Another thing is more multiplayer character types. Spartans and elites are cool, and yeah, spartans and elites should be the only ones to customize, but what about playing as non spartans? you could actually unlock real ODSTs or even basic marines, so long as they have the same body type, does it matter? Let's get more diversity.
Another thing I think would be a good idea is a gametype or gametype option that allows for more complex and strategic gameplay. for example, if I were to base a map off of a game like command and conquer, then there could be a designated "team leader" who could set waypoints for his team mates to follow. on a forged map, the team leader decides when a structure in a given location gets built and when it's vehicles spawn. as for vehicles and infantry loadouts, the team has to save up points that come over time (equal to the RTS harvesting resources) and then they can go to the main "Command center" and purchase either a vehicle or loadout. also structures should be able to be destroyed, allowing for openings in the base, and objectives able to be reached. Objectives could be made for the gametype as either a destroy, capture, or defend objective.
Lastly, I think that all vehicles and it's variants in campaign should be accessable in forge. this is mainly for machinima but can be equally effective for gametypes. obviously I know we wont be able to have the infinity as a flyable ship, but to have at least spawnable and flyable elephants and pelicans, even if one each, it's still something that can REALLY help machinima out a lot. another possibility would be some of the fighters in some games that you just can't fly, like the longswords and halo wars's hawks. here's hoping these are good ideas. oh, and one last thing I forgot, a possible first person view in the driver seat of any vehicle, changable on the fly too. sometimes it's cool to see from the inside of the vehicle.
