I haven't watched machinima in years. It's rare you find one with somewhat decent cinematography, voice acting and writing. Most of the time, they are just god-awful cringe.

Update 19/11/2015: I've been playing Fallout 4 and forgot to update this edition! -Halo Mythos Guide added. It comes out around the same time as HW2 and it is a complete guide to the Halo Universe, like, everything. All armour variants are canon. I don't know where you get this impression. However, you seem to have a different impression of how they operate. The MKIV, MKV, MKVI and GEN2 are different platforms with optional upgrades (IE EVA, EOD and so forth) in the form of armour plates and specialised technology. It's Kurt (SPI), Kelly (MKV) and likely Will or Linda (MKVI)

Aside from palmer being the spartan commander, it seems that there's squad leaders and then everyone else in Spartan branch is the same rank. Take that as you will. He upgraded after fighting derderct on installation 03, when his GEN 1 got REQ'd Cortana upgraded his GEN1 suit to match currently available UNSC specs via space magic nanobots. His GEN2 armour design was then esigned to emulate his previous suit. Black Team (WIP MK6 version) Blue Team (limited use at the end of the war, GoO) Maria (Tested John's armour shortly before Halo 2) Naomi (Used GEN1 MK7) Most used MKIV and MKV at some point, but many were't alive by 2552 when both MKV and MKVI were introduced.

Why would they not give the proper helm?

To be honest, I'd say a compelling story and universe, a campaign that wasn't just tacked on, a multiplayer that was revolutionary (for consoles) and, later, the customisation offered through armour, forge and custom games made Halo. Not an arbritary number that only serves to show how much of a no-lifer you are. Being good means jack all of your team has the collective intelligence of a brick. Being good doesnt win the match if your team is more focused on kills than flags, or killing each other for the sniper rifle.

The only retailer exclusive items are aesthetic in nature and al can be unlocked in-game. Which is good. Retailer exclusives are a cancer on the games industry.

You do know development has finished, right? They're not adding anything else into the game now.

E3 '13 was made mid-development when the guardian design wasn't final yet. All Hail/ The Cost aren't canon events - how could they be? They don't make any sense given the context of each other. The only time his visor has been damaged in such a way was Escalation #10, and he's upgraded to GEN2 since then. Plus, he is warned about Meridian before he goes AWOL, while on Argent Moon. Conclusion? He is declared AWOL after Meridian and the UNSC is covering their arses now they can't find him. And I also redact my prior statement about this being after Hunt the Truth.

Since when? That one trailer that was made for E3 '13? Because the words 'subject to change one to mind. We pretty much know there's guardians on meridian. News program, PSA, same deal. They don't give out the gory details. I'm just failing to understand why it's relevant. Many games set their stories on the game's release. Research base.

Why would it be? It's the same armour used in All Hail/ whatever the other one was. And they CG'd the helmet- I wouldn't read too much into this. Forerunner infantry could level entire continents. Halo 5 takes place in October. UNSC has found Installations 00, 03, 05 and 07 with bases around each. Nothing particularly surprising here.

I think they needed to differentiate the characters from voice alone. Jorge was born on Reach and kept a hungarian accent. Randall kept his Yorkshire accent. It's pretty clear it's not something that's really considered that much, not that I'm complaining. Plus, I'm from yorkshire so I have bias towards british accents.

Why not? I never got why a space empire spans over 800 planets and all of the soldiers sound American (aside from that one Mexican guy who's in every freakin level of Halo 2) Really kills the immersion for me when everyone sounds the same. Accent and location they were taken from was never even mentioned in Fall of Reach. They've got free reign to create those things.

Simple maths dictates that it's somewhere around February to march of 2558 (8 months after Halo 4, 2 after Spartan Ops) as it directly follows the first story arc. But we don't have a set date for the events of HuntTheTruth aside from 2558.

It's not exactly a secret that the XB1 is an underpowered piece of crap compared to any half decent PC from 2015. Unless you're running the exact same specs as a console, you can't compare how good the framerate is at all. . The first few minutes are mainly focused on Order 1886 and the whole 'But films have a lower fps' thing, but the rest is good. It's a good video in general.
