I do love te contrast between te efficient andechanical SPARTAN-II's and the more show-off style of the SPARTAN-IVs. Also, the reference to Escalation #10 Had me excited. Also te Sangheili referring to the Unggoy by their proper name is a nice touch. Because Bungie were **** at writing characters who weren't one personality stereotypes. This version of John is much more accurate to every non-game incarnation while still showing the obvious signs of PTSD you'd probably get from the kind of experience any SPARTAN-II or SPARTAN-III goes through. God forgive that after being abucyed and placed into militry trainibg at the age of six, watching literal tens of billions of people die after doing everything you can to save them, losing literally all of his only friends and family on Reach, then having the pressure of oh, y'know, the lives of an entire ******* galaxy resting on his shoulders (more than once, I might add) before finally losing his best friend and losing his fight to something he could not hope to stop. God forgive that maybe that kind of stress begins to wear on someone a bit. If you're criticising John for showing some kind of actual emotion, then you're missing the entire point of the Reclaimer Saga.

It's only 400 page with big text. It won't be necessary to Halo 5 aside from saying that blue team was doing stuff, and maybe some references in the dialogue. Surely it doesn't take you a month to read a book? I finished this in a day.

It didn't arrive til nearly a week after release, but I finished it in under a day once I did get it. Good stuff, nice to see the return of the Spartan III's- specifically Gamma Company. Glad to see that they've managed to work around catalog saying they were KIA last year. The issue of their mental instabilities is certainly not something we have come across before, even in Onyx or Glasslands. Veta is an awesome character, but Jesus her background is dark. A lot darker than some aspects of the Halo universe. But I do like the banter that begins to go across between her and the Gammas later in the book, an with Fred to an extent. Also, castor is amazing. A Jiralhanae introduced(?) in this book, he leads a new sect of covenant called Keepers of the One Freedom. But his appearance and background look and sound very similar to the Halo Wars army commander and the Halo Wars 2 chieftain. So yeah, last light is a thing.

Or some reason, OP decide to PM me rather than quote or reply. So here's my full response in regards to John's armour: No images show the same battle scarring as the GEN1 variant from Halo 3/4, only new marks.

I'm waiting to see how much money is left on my card after the release of Halo 5 and Fallout 4. That will determine how quickly I get fleet battles. I don't even want to play it, I just want the models of the ships.

None of them are wearing MKVI. John is wearing a GEN2 variant stylised after the upgrades given to him by Cortana after his original was more or less destroyed on installation 03. The rest of Blue also wear a GEN2 set, rather than GEN1.

In Halo 5, John is wearing a GEN2 variant of Mark VI, after the original was damaged in his fight with the Didact. Blue team is wearing the same armour as the Spartan-IV's. Covenant weapons are rarely the same an are instead purchased on demand and built to custom specification. This is why some plasma weapons glow different colours or have different ammo capacities. That wouldn't be automatic. That would be two shots before you reload two shots.

Not going to lie, I'm loving that we got the classification of the Infinite Succor.

It's an ARG that took place on the waypoint forums a while back, concerning two ONI Agents, CODENAME: FIXER and CODENAME: COALMINER (Or something like that) that told the story of AI and some other stuff - I don't know the specifics. It was what unlocked many of the armour sets an codes that you unlock o the waypoint 360 app for Halo 4, Raider being an example. Talk to CIA391 on Archive about it, he was part of it.

Not everyone reads the booksand stuff, because they either don't care, or are not able to. Consequently, some people have no idea what is going on in the story. So, this page will act as a primer of sorts, linking to information useful to Halo 5: it's characters, events, organisations and other stuff.
