  1. Locke has the Artemis system. Also, you still get a viewpoint. It is evident you spend a significant amount of time on Sunaion, and you are able to explore the UNSC's point of view of Blue team's absence; they don't have all the facts. In a similar way to how HunttheTruth has explored how civilians are in te post-war landscape, by not knowing the SPARTAN program, flood, forerunners and Ark, the UNSC doesn't know John's motivations right now, not do we know what the Guardians are, and so forth. Locke POV is there to examine John's character from the outside, when we don't know all the facts, something which has been done very little (If at all) in the series.
  2. It's useless because halos 4 and 5 are the only games which have shown its power. DMR is a lot better now that it has a niche to fill (Which it kind of did in Halo 4, but not very well) as a step between assault rifle and sniper rifle, used at medium-long range encounters versus the former's short-medium and latter's long-very long range. If anything, the battle rifle is useless; there's a reason modern militaries have sucked them off. A battle rifle fills the same role as an assault rifle, except with a larger calibre round and a resultant less ammunition. There's other minor differences, of course, but the rise of assault rifles like the M16, AK47 and FAMAS have replaced more traditional WWII era battle rifles as they perform te same job more effectively. Halo's BR doesn't really fill a niche, it's just there. The assault rifle [should] deal with CQC-medium range fine, and a DMR to step in between that and the long-range weapons. BR is trying to do both, and becomes a lot more OP as a result; it has no failings. An AR falls short at a long range, the opposite is true for a DMR. A BR is effective at any range and thus renders the other two pretty much useless, and henceforth turning a multiplayer match into a one-gun game where there's little point using any other non-power weapon. Which is why I stopped playing Halo 4 after it became a 4SK. I loved the pre-TU game, but the battle rifle becoming a 4 hit kill ruined the game for me.
  3. What happens if I want a storyline that doesn't have Disney villains and a nonsensical plot that barely ties into the lore?
  4. u wot m8? OT; 343 has a dedication to tie all the lore together, keep things as canonical as possible and resolve unresolved plot points. Under them, were seeing the return of a lot of stuff; Black Team/ Iona- Halo Escalation/ Saint's Testimony Spirit of Fire- Halo Escalation Usze Taham/ N'tho Sroam- Hunters in the Dark Other SPARTAN-II's in Halo 5 and Last Light The fates of SPARTAN-III's in Last Light Ben Giruad from the Graphic Novel in HUNTTHETRUTH Sullivan from Forward Unto Dawn in HtT Del Rio in HtT Buck and the other ODST guys There's undoubtedly a bunch more that I'm forgetting right now because I've just woken up. But the way 343i is pulling characters from the most obscure sources (Second Sunrise over New Mombasa, Forward Unto Dawn, Halo 3 Co-Op) is honestly amazing, and I do love how they tie everything together. The Foreruner Saga is an amazing piece for that aspect. Halo 2 is pretty good actually. The way it built up the Covenant, the political subterfuge that goes on and ha the best character building of any Bungie game (Thel 'Vadam) to date. It was the first time, aside from short mentions in The Flood and a short chapter in First Strike we get a genuine insight into how te Covenant functions and how they dealt with the events of the prior game. It's a shame all the MC fanboys had to complain about an alternate perspective and get Arbiter missions removed from Halo 3. I really hope tht doesn't happen with Locke in Halo 5/6, I already like Fireteam Osiris as a squad much more than Blue Team just from Escalation, HiTD, Nathan Fillion and Nightfall. To reply to the OP question, the finale of HuntTheTruth hints that Petra will be taking over the role of Hunting the truth in a series of her own, possibly in Halo 5's terminals or the fall of reach animated series that comes with the LE and LCE.
  5. Sauce. Marty was fired last year, so I'm glad to see he's still in the business. I'll certainly be looking out for Highwire's games in the future.
  6. Game informer. It says the second mission, "Blue Team", is set before they go AWOL.
  7. YYEESS Halo lore is separate from Fanfiction! Thank you based Twam 10/10 update
  8. I'm getting the Limited Edition for the steel case and the juicy lore goodies that come with it. The digital content is early-access to my knowledge, as oppose to exclusive.
  9. Huh. Anyway, as stated, the price tag is because you get a statue and a bunch of books with it. Not or the game.
  10. So can you CTRLC/V the list (or screenshot) of supported games? I would imagine the Halo games are supported, but I'm curious about Fallout 3/ Vegas and Skyrim. And what's the status of DLC? I'm in Britain and this damn preview thing is only open to America users.
  11. The HTS AI is the scientist from the end of Mortal Dictata, who committed suicide upon completion of the SPARTAN-II program and his last wish for his brain to be an AI template. That AI is BB, from the K5 trilogy. Furthermore, why would Ben be used as an AI? He has no particular talent for use in an AI matrix and he is classed as a terrorist by the UEG, why on earth would they use him in the creation of an AI? The Artemis software is a piece of kit not unlike VISR from ODST installed in the GEN2 MJOLNIR harness, for location of alternate routes and weapons caches for soldiers; Blue Team is not outfitted with this. Osiris is.
  12. "Waah! I'm not playing as the most boring character in the series and I want to forsake characterisation for a guy who had less than 100 lines across the first 3 games!" I have no sympathy here. All the non-John characters shown have been far more likeable than John in almost every respect. Buck, Vale, Tanaka and Locke are all much more interesting from their limited appearances alone and Kelly, Fred and Linda are characters just as old as John yet at more interesting and have only been introduced for the first time now. 15 years after The Fall of Reach. In Co-Op, I will pick any character over John. She's dead. She was going to die, that was Bungie's hand. She isn't coming back. This has been confirmed multiple times, I'm sorry of you like the character, but if all you're liking the series for is two characters, then it may not be the franchise for you.
  13. What's wrong with that? Aside from giving us more [interesting] characters, Halo 5 along with it's promotional materials allow us to view the actions of John from an outside point of view; something we have already tasted in HunttheTruth. Besides, Locke is a much more interesting character than John. And the first non-stereotype black guy we have had as a main character in Halo in pretty much ever.
  14. When the Assault Rifle isn't reduced to the reach-era POS and is instead a powerful weapon, I will choose automatics any day. Otherwise, I actively avoid the BR, Carbine4lyf.
  15. Getting people to stop using halo nation and halofollower as a source of information.
  16. Because they're obviously going to scrap 3+ years of work three months before release. Y'know, MCC was made for a reason, an it is mostly functional now (Inb4 someone doesn't know what mostly means). If you want to play the older style of Halo, there is literally nothing stopping you (Unless Australia). Why keep everything the same? What would be the point of making new games if you're not going to implement new features or make graphical fidelity better? I would rather every game play different from the last, regardless whether I enjoy it or not, just for variety. I loved H4 but I'm glad H5 isn't the same; if I wanted to play 4, or 3, or CE (Or lolhalo2) I'd go play those games. Also, when was the last time you honestly say down and played 4-player splitscreen regularly? How often? Maybe a couple times a year for a social gathering? It's funny how so many people play off that they rely on 4-way split when the vast majority of the player base doesn't use it.
  17. BABY DONT HURT ME DONT HURT ME NO MORE
  18. Yes. We've had a particularly amazing story of a certain developer being able to kill a tank with one of the new SA's.
  19. A precursor construct that was created over 150 billion years ago (Our universe is only 14.5b years old, for context). It was used by the Forerunners as a space Internet, essentially, but was alive in it's own right with thoughts and goals of it's own. Like all Precursor constructs, it was largely destroyed when the Halo array fired (Precursors use 'neural physics', which Halos obliterate), though it survived in some shape or form, as the terminals were trying to contact it. Additional; The Domain exhibited some form of healing powers, as it was intended to heal the Didact's mind over his 100,000 year imprisonment after the array went off, but it's destruction caused the commander to simply go insane. Another facet of the Domain was that it was used by the flood (Who were precursors) to allow Graveminds and keyminds to share information and memories; why this means is that the current Gravemind has the experience and knowledge of it's predecessors thousands of years ago. If the domain is coming back, that is very bad news.
  20. Well, it's not going to be in. Sorry, but if not having any splitscreen is a deal breaker, then at least you're saving money. 6 months ago.
  21. He couldn't be composed by one. He had six go off next to him at once.
  22. Who should not be playing a game rated mature 17+ in the first place.
  23. Drifted in space (and still is). It was encountered in 2558 (Shortly after spartan Ops) by infinity when a supply freighter and multiple attack craft registered to said ship attacked infinity. The ship itself is orbiting the planet seen in the credits, with empty cryo bays, rogue infection forms in said bays and signs saying abandon ship.
  24. Avengers Assemble parody? Anyone?
