Reach messed up a lot of stuff about the books. I think Jun is just dead, unless he was evacuated with the rest of the people from Castle base. Halsey was the one that stayed behind to blow the place up in the case Covenant got in, but she's later rescued by the Chief and other SPARTAN IIs. There's a fantastic fan-made comic called Fistfull of Arrows that tells how Jun escorts Halsey and dies protecting her. I myself consider it a part of the Halo universe, even though it's not "made official" by Bungie or 343, so it's still unkown if he's really dead. Either way, you should read it, you can look it up and read it on the internet.

One really jaw-dropping moment for me when I reading Fall of Reach's epilogue, when Cortana describes the Halo for Keyes( I had no idea what Halo was about, I just bought the book 'cause it looked interesting). My favourite quote from Keyes is still: "If it's artificial, then who the hell built it...and what in God's name is it?" After that I've had more moments like that, like in Halo 3 when the portal opens and in Halo CE when the Flood infection forms rush in and of course looking up at the sky and the ring for the first time. In Halo 4 the firing of the composer was great.

Halo 5:Playable Elites(please watch it,343)
Tietokone replied to Thel Vadam's topic in Halo 5: Guardians
Friendly elites and Arbiter in campaign would be awesome, I think it's something 343 might actually do. I think that's the reason there are no elites multiplayer, cause there's no friendly elites on Infinity and multiplayer is a part of the story in a way. So friendly elites in campaign likely means elites in multiplayer as well. -
Halo 4's armor is really bad. The torsos look all the same, and some helmets are so stupid I can but wonder what the designer was thinking. I'm fine with visorless helmets, but in Halo helmets have always had visors, so they just feel out of place and weird. And the armor doesn't have any functionality to it. In Reach there were ammo belts, tac-pads, breathing masks and a robot arm! Halo 5 should have those things, as well more armor for elites if they'll become playable again.

-Flood returns -Arbiter returns -Cortana stays dead (at least for H5) -more variety in missions (stealth, huge open battlefields, space, indoors, etc) -better AI for enemies and allies -ammo needs to be picked up, doesn't come with the weapon -ammo visible in cutscenes and gameplay -Didact returns ( I'm pretty sure he does, but I'll put it here anyway) -SPARTAN IIs return -music more like the previous games That's pretty long, but the ammo stuff I don't expect to actually be in the game, but something I'd like to see (but probably never will).

I think the walkway Chief was on was a little elevated. Or they just messed up.

So I replayed halo CE and Halo 2's campaign yesterday.
Tietokone replied to Chris Hansen's topic in Halo 4
117, Arrival and Revival were pretty much the only ones that were as good as the old music. Even so, in terms of music the most epic moment was the credits with remake of... Never Forget? Can't remember the name, but it was awesome. The final mission was also really great, but in earlier Halos I felt the same way for almost the entire campaign. I hope they make the music more like the old music in Halo 5. -
I think Halo 4's story was great, but I can see why some people thought the Didact wasn't a good villain: you have to read the books or at least watch the terminals, if you don't, things won't make sense. And even if you read them some stuff still doesn't make sense: why did the Didact go straight to Earth after he got the Composer? "Don't worry, Silentium's gonna explain that!" I myself read the books or the wiki, but some people won't, so it's still going to seem stupid to them after Silentium comes out. You could of course make the argument that if they don't care about the story enough even to read a page on Halopedia, does it really make sense for them to complain about not understanding it? When it comes to gameplay, I'd say it was good at what was, but that's all there was. Almost the whole campaign was small to medium-sized engagements. There were no huge, epic battles like in Halo 3 (assault to the tower to help Johnson, tanks/warthogs vs scarabs at the citadel). So more variety in missions, just like Spartan Ops. It's like eating only popcorn when you could be having popcorn AND a coke, if that makes sense. So that's my opinion, after all that's what this forum's for.

I think it depends on how you think of it; Chief and Cortana could be very close friends, or they could be lovers. Right now you can't really tell. Maybe if in Halo 5 Chief reveals some of his feelings, and we'll know which it is.

I don't know if Microsoft (343's a part of MS, but you know what I mean) had something to do with making SO gold-only, but it is really idiotic. I'm happy I have internet on my xbox, I love the story of Halo and it'd suck to be forced to watch it in youtube or something. They should allow SO in offline. So I guess I'm agreeing with you is what I'm trying to say. It doesn't ruin the game, but really annoying, still.

I do like Spartan Ops, but I agree that the infinite lives and respawning is kinda dumb. Also, it'll probably never be implemented, but I wish you had NPC members of Crimson with you when you're playing solo. It kills my immersion in the story when I'm alone when there's supposed to be a team. A Republic Commando style squad control system would also be awesome, if there'll ever be NPC teammates. Same maps were a problem until Ep 6, so they don't trouble me that much. The missions could use some variety, all we have now is big, chaotic firefights. Sniping, stealth and small engagements were scarce, at least in my opinion.

I'd actually like some more, if they're more "punch elite" than "press button". I think Halo 4s quick-time events were pretty good.

If there was anything I'd need to complain about in Halo 4s campaign, I'd say music. It's great, but not as great as the music of the earler games. Gameplay was awesome, and the story even more so. Multiplayer was pretty cool too, but I won't get too much into that here. 343 did great in my opinion.

I think Halsey wants to have some kind of revenge, but maybe not the kind that Jul expects (her helping him fight the UNSC). I'm really looking forward to season 2/ Halo 5, who knows which one comes first.
-
I think the story was awesome. The characters were a little one-sided, but they haven't been around for too long. Gameplay was great at first, but got boring around episodes 4-5. The rest was really amazing. I have to agree with Dawn Wolf about losing though, it's not very tactical at all, most of the the time there's just a chaos with plasma and bullets flying all over. It's an enjoyable chaos, but I would've liked to see something else, too. There were some sneaky parts, but they were scarce. I'd give Season One a 8.5/10.

I used to think she might have survived and be on Requiem, but now since the planet crashed into a star I don't know... I think the Didact is definitely alive (at least the other of the two) because wouldn't make any sense to introduce a character to kill him off immediately. If the verson of the Didact who uses the Composer at the end of the campaign survived and went to Requiem and escaped with Jul, he might have Cortana with him. If that's not the case, I don't think she's coming back. I'm fine with both scenarios, she indeed is a great character and I'd like to hear from her again, but she did get a "worthy" death scene.

Looks great, can't wait to play! Why did you think that?
-
I agree with you both! I don't think him joking around is bad: in fact, I like it. Hopefully he'll have a part in Halo 5, maybe even as a replacement for Cortana in way (by guiding you through your missions, NOT being with the Chief "in person"). It's nice to have a laugh sometimes playing Spartan Ops just listening to dialogue between him and Miller/Palmer/etc.
-
I think she's a good character. People complain about her calling scientists "eggheads" etc, even though she's clearly not meaning what she's saying. As for her military skills, I think she's a good leader and a spartan. Palmer hasn't been seen in combat a lot, so she could surprise us.

[ Spoiler ] I think I have evidence of cortana alive...
Tietokone replied to doriftoboy's topic in Halo 4
I'm not sure if Cortana will come back or not, but that AI is a composed human. Neither Cortana or Chief were on New Phoenix when Didact fired the composer, so she couldn't have memories of the city. She might return some other way though, but I think it'd be stupid if they killed Cotrtana off just to bring her back immediately. So Halo 5 or 6, I guess. -
Great job, I'm impressed. It'd be really cool if this became a part of the lore.
-
It says "presumably" and "apparent defeat". And Halo Wiki is not official, even if it's right most of the time.
-
You're mostly right, but Chief's armor is not made of nanobots. The armor "looks" the same as it did in Halo 2 and 3. It's just that the Halo 4s graphics are better, and 343 also changed the art style. It is confusing and I wish the armor wouldn't have changed so much. It looks cool though.

I like to think it's something to do with his suit. So far he hasn't used telekinesis without it, so it would make sense.
