i was really hoping the head hunter gametype returned in Halo 4's matchmaking! does anyone have any answers to if it will make a return in a sub playlist or as a game mode in an existing playlist? i was a head hunter junkie in halo reach and i know i wasn't the only one, it was an addictive multiplayer mode.

why are you in this forum and why are you even buying Halo 4?

@killerdude1635 its seems like you just want to argue, video gaming is a hobby bent around spending a decent amount of money for enjoyment. not sure why you would purchase Halo 4 and not want to buy and play the new maps when they're offered. if its because of the extra cost of the map pack, then why waste money even buying Halo 4, map packs have been around since Halo 2, so nothing new. also who cares if the maps aren't all "perfect" the ones at launch usually never are either, there always seems to be a few everyone tends to veto in matchmaking. lastly give me a break, your already paying for xbox live, already bought an xbox360, and are planning to buy Halo 4, what is $30 more? stop being so confrontational just for the sake of argument.

i agree, why would you buy and continue to play Halo 4 with the intention of never buying the map packs. map packs have been around since Halo 2. And i remember Bungie doing that in Halo 2 and Halo 3, hopefully 343i will do the same by limiting those player who wish to not purchase the map packs. it would seem like an awful waste for 343i to go through the trouble of making map packs only to not give the maps priority in matchmaking, especially when you have players paying for these maps. but i do remember in Halo 2 and 3's heyday playing most of the DLC maps in matchmaking once they would be released. btw not really sure why hardcore Halo fans wouldn't purchase the map packs, doesn't make too much sense to buy the game and then not support the online match making months after buy not purchasing the maps...

ill add my two cents. i agree you shouldn't leave those people who can't afford the map packs behind. BUT, if the DLC is meant to further the longevity of online play for Halo 4, then the people who buy the DLC should have priority on the matchmaking playlists. otherwise why even offer the map packs if they aren't going to be utilized? it would be very unfair to have people pay for maps that will rarely see play time. i think non-DLC players should be restricted to free-for-all, team slayer, and objective. DLC players should have access to ALL playlists. i think if you play Halo 4's online matchmaking it should be assumed you intend to take advantage of everything offered in online matchmaking including the map packs. the map packs are meant to complete and extend the experience for those who play online matchmaking as a whole, and so that is how the online playlists should be geared instead of catering to the players who are playing what can be thought as an incomplete version of the online matchmaking.

i would say thanks to load outs betrayals may decrease in terms of players killing players for weapons. although im not sure how often people go for power weapons, because i only go after them if i happen to be near them or if the power weapons randomly spawn close by. but i never really made a point to get the shotgun, rocket launcher, or sword. i haven't played Halo's multiplayer since Halo 3 so im not sure if betrayals have really became an issue recently though, i wasn't fond of Halo Reach so i passed on the multiplayer in that game. But i never encountered too many instances of team mates purposely killing me. i maybe only was killed while playing on special ex playlist, or if i could tell they were attempting to get an achievement and i was in a vehicle or had a certain weapon they wanted, but that was only a few times. aslo it helps if you play matches with your friends, better teamwork, communication and overall experience, i honestly don't think i've chatted in a game lobby since the party feature for multiplayer games was introduced.

Does anyone know if all the armor and skins are available to use from the start of the game on release, or is it the same thing as Halo 3 and Halo Reach where you unlock the customization as you go through the game? I was just curious because it seems between pre-orders and future dlc there is a bunch of armor and skins floating around at the start of the game for different people depending on what version of the game you get, where you pre-order it and what country you live in. On top of all of this i haven't heard anything from 343i stating whether all of the armor and skins are available from the start or if you need to go through the game and unlock that stuff.

Now that we've at least seen the reveal of all ten Halo 4 multiplayer maps; Abandoned, Adrift, Complex, Exile, Haven, Longbow, Meltdown, Ragnarok, Solace, and Vortex, what is your reaction? Granite, most of Halo 4's fans have not been privy to experience these multiplayer maps hands on, but i'm sure everyone still has an opinion based on what has been seen and described. Are you pleased with the end result of all of these maps, or is there an art direction or map layout type that you would have liked to see that was not included? What map interested you the most, what map interested you the least? (this is just meant to be a fun discussion in anticipation for anyone who is excited to play Halo 4's multiplayer)

the mantis looks very Gundam Wing in the concept stages, whereas the finalized design looks very Star Wars Chicken Walker. and meltdown looks great! i think the only map style halo 4 is missing is a High Ground type rush/defend map, would love to see a rush/defend map make its way into future dlc. all in all looks great!
