*gasp* you're right. I haven't forged any flood maps so I have no idea how it worked. I thought it would be just like infection. Oh well... These can still be used for other games too, and work just as well
-
These are weapon vending machines. The way they are used is simple. Throw a grenade into the chute and the mine will explode, vending a weapon. They are mainly used for infection but will work in any gametype.
-
Here are two ways you can use the trees differently.... Firstly, make a colleseum light(s) Or adowned telephone pole. With the trait zone, I made it so that they cause damage when stepping over the wires. There's an electrical sound when you walk near them. I used shield walls to create that sound. (The pics are backwards) If THFE makes this apart of any video, please credit me and my youtube channel MalfunktionStudios Thanks!

The adaptability of alot of today's top forgers shadows everyone else's needs for a universally "good" forge map. I haven't had an extreme issue with the canvas's we were given, however, I think 343 gave us too much. In Reach, we could make maps that transformed the landscape enough so as a player playing a map for the first time, you didn't even recognize what part of Forge World it had been in. However, in H4, every map we forge on has distinct elements (such as the metal sidewalls in Ravine) that dampen alot of creativity because we are forced to work around the map, instead of the map working for us. Again, it is a challenge, and alot of people can adapt, but that's not really what forge is about. Forge was created for us to create maps how WE see them. The map is only supposed to be a guideline, not what your map should be based on due to the enviroment around it. Granted, some maps use the enviroment, but it shouldn't be the thing that has to change US.

Does the EXT_TARGET label work for Spawn Points to? I'm trying to create a phased (like stage, not physics) spawn system to make up for the fact that invasion does not exist in Halo 4. If there is another way, can someone please show me?

What's up guys! We are a newer machinima group and are always looking to expand! We need Actors(Body/Voice) and Directors! Check us out YouTube! We don't have much (result of being new) youtube.com/MalfunktionStudios

I apologize for not having accepted that ge request. I completely forgot about this post. I'll send you message so you can invite me whenever

I would hope that THFE stays just that. The HALO FORGE Epidemic. That's what you all re about. These videos are just a side thing, and there's nothing wrong with that. It's not like you'd be Machinima.com posting up silly videos that sometimes don't have anything to do machinima.

If silver accounts could be made by region, this would help a lot more. But, what Oakley said, one email can only have so many accounts

I'm not saying make an entire series dedicated to all this stuff. A few videos isn't going to ruin anything. It's not any different from what other channels do. One or two videos on some of the outside view ont the production of your videos isn't going to hurt. As an avid viewer of the channel, seeing the stuff you guys do makes me want to learn the basics of how it's done. Having to search for that **** gets to be very time consuming. A lot of channels stick up small tutorials, that don't dilute their focus. For example: Arbiter617, who happens to be a pretty big guy in terms of machinima, does a few tutorials here and there. However, his purpose isn't to educate. He does because he's requested to. All I'm doing is requesting. Hear me out. If Oakley did maybe a video once in while giving a tutorial (honestly he's the only commentator that doesn't put me to sleep), no one is going to mind. The whole "Forge Focus" Nazi only bothers you and the other forge channels it seems like. Taking a step out of your focus to give a little additional education and information isn't going to hurt. But I digress. Nonetheless, I enjoy THFE's videos.

Hello Avix! I believe you sent me a game request a few days ago. I'll clear some space on my friends list to add you and we can talk. I forge a lot, mainly Slayer, BTB, and the objective game types, however I have made and help make a few linear infection maps.

You're right, sorry about that, I clicked into the wrong tab when I stared typing. I had the other forum open

Hey Fellow Forgers, To expand our machinima group's reputation, we I'll begin posting articles (long posts) for forge (an other stuff). Look out for them. They will be containing some educational value and Forge "Theory". This is for the community. Thanks, DjPro95

Understandable. Though it's not like you guys would ever let that dilute your goal. Expanding your videos however, expands your demographic, therefore your views and subscribers. Just food for thought.

Spawn Cameras that can move instead of sit still. -
We need more people that can record and edit video. If you're interested, email me at [email protected]

I know this may have been a topic one of THFE's recent videos, but I'm not sure. Could you guys possibly do tutorials involving photoshop, making backgrounds/emblems in particular? Or will you leave that to the rest of YouTube? I notice a lot of machinima guys like watching THFE, yet no one really explains how the friggin' amazing quality comes about.
-
Actually, I wouldn't mind watching. I'm inclined to learn more to improve. I guess you're right. It'd be hard to collab on a map. I'd certainly like to see it done more often however. The more input into the map, in terms of gameplay, the better off you are. Though, pyro I'd still take you up on that offer. I like the educational part of THFE. It helps us all out who watch, and helps make less crappy maps.
-
Well, I don't know how well you know THFE, but notice most of the forgers who make it along side them forge similarly. Ergo, it's like having 8 of the same people. Look at the numbered section again. Imagine these 8 pop-forgers in one lobby, given their open mindensss: Oakley Hidef Mr Pokephile Insamniac Psychoduck Xinshu And some less known names... Narb Guy The Omnicron And Im sure we could find a ton more who, because they watch the THfE , forge simarily. It could work. It could fail. You don't know till you try. I've done a 6 person collab map with a few friends and it turned out nicely.

I know I've spammed just about every well-known forger about this, but I still think this would be a good idea, given it's executed properly. The show would consist of 8 forgers, forging 1 map. I KNOW THE PROBLEMS THAT COME ALONG WITH THIS, OTHER THEN THE LAG RECIEVED TRYING TO PLACE OBJECTS. The basis of this is so that 8 forgers are collaborating one map, giving their own stylistic inflections into it. Considering that most of the good forgers now-a-days pretty much have similar ideas, this should still work out nicely. TO PREVENT CHAOS: 1. A lead forger would be chosen for a particluar episode to give the map a basis, and a solid foundation. 2. A very limited template should be made before hand. 3. A short meeting should take place before the episode to discuss the plan. 4. Forgers (if chosen outside of THFE/its collegues) should be audition through a short portfolio of maps they have built. 5. The FINAL result will be touched up by the lead forger in a private lobby. During the video, each forger would give a two minute commentary on what they built. Then, cliche gameplay at the end. Thanks for reading DjPro95

DjPro95 Map: Ancestory Gametype: Team Slayer Hey what's up guys, DjPro95 from MalfunktionStudios bringing you my first entry to the THFE forum. Today's map is called Ancestory, a 4v4 map built for the RFN competition. I thought I might as well post it here to see if you guys liked it. I'll be adding more of my maps to this forum in the future. Anyway, this map is forerunner themed. It has some familiar structures from Wraparound, and some inspiration based off Halo 4 footage.
