  1. 343 really just screwed up Halo Reach in general with their updates. Vanilla reach was so much better. As for the people who complain about the pistol, maybe you should learn how to use it. Everyone starts with it, so you can't whine that somebody else has the advantage. Personally, I love it because I've always been good with the pistol. It doubles, if not triples my lethality now. BANG BANG BANG -BOP-. Three shots and a melee and they're toast. Wyzilla likes.
  2. Nah. It's become a key feature of halo that you never get to fly a pelican, except in that special glitch in Halo Reach. Otherwise, this shtick must be continued. It was hilarious how even in Halo Wars you couldn't control them.
  3. Hello one and all, I, Wyzilla, have landed amongst your mortal midst. The most pompous, stuck up, egotistical, nihilistic, sociopath this forum will ever know. My mind is geared towards science and history, and I would say it is safe to guess that I am the only paleontology nerd in this forum. I would also guess that I'm probably the only person not sold on this 'Halo 4' yet, although the 'Flood' mode seems tempting. It's almost as if 343i is attempting to court us Floodians on B.net. There is a great deal more, but I'm tired. So I'll stop typing. I think I got the message that I'm nutty across.
  4. Didn't Quake or Unreal Arena actually have a medal system? Halo after all heavily based their multiplayer after Bungie's previous Marathon Series and Quake Arena.
  5. No, stuff like that has been in games for a long time. Especially the Tom Clancy Games, I know that Splinter Cell has had similar stuff, as well as Ghost Recon.
  6. Any and every day in ODST Firefight, which was way better than Reach's. It was hard, health was scarce, and desperate stands were common. You felt endangered, and not the immortal god in Reach's firefight. You scavenged the corpses for new guns and ammo, and were delighted when the most basic UNSC weapons respawned. And of course, every moment ever spent in H3 MP, especially custom games.
  7. Jorge, the only character I liked. Well, Jun was OK. Everything else sucked. Kat was annoying as hell in gameplay, and a terrible character as well. Same for Emile, which was the badass black dude with a shotgun trope. Carter was a bit of an idiot, seeing that he could have simply dived down on the Scarab, allowing him to simply let go of the controls and fly out of harm's way. Sure he may have been severely injured, but it beats the stupid 'I WILL SACRIFICE MYSELF TO SAVE YOU!' shtick. Really, the characters in Reach just sucked. ODST was far better.
  8. So I ask everyone this, should Battlefield be put down? At least for me, Battlefield 3 has been a bit of a disappointment. It started off good, but the game has become crap due to a bad community, poorly executed patches, poorly executed gameplay, and the awful milking done by EA via premium. The main problem I had with the start was the rather bad community, I don't know what happened, but every other Battlefield game I've played on the XBOX had decent teammates. Maybe it was an influx of COD kids, I don't know, but what I do know is I only could ever play with a friend, otherwise some idiot would spawn on me while I was running a covert operation. They'd ignore the fact I was being sneaky, stand up, open fire with their LMG, and get everyone killed. Sooooooo often. But that's not the game's fault. That's just bad luck. Which sucks, but it does subtract from the game. Then there was the lack of patching. If I remember correctly, the game went two months without a patch. Meanwhile, previous games like BFBC2 were usually patched within a week, if not days. However, in BF3 we had to deal with that awful shotgun attachment glitch that would decimate an entire squad in a single shot (the glitch was that each pellet did the same damage as a normal AR bullet, 22 points. There was about ten pellets, if not more. One shot and five people are dead.) and murder everything. Then thanks to Premium, we also had those SOBs with extra cash running around with unpatched weapons for two weeks. When CQ came out, I stopped playing for a week, because I got tired of getting killed with unpatched guns. And M60 shouldn't be getting overpowered by an MP5K at mid range. The most obvious reason behind this Premium service though, is EA. The monster EA. The same jerks who've murdered a dozen good developers and countless good series. Now it appears that they are attempting to copy COD's yearly money spree, by releasing new MOH games and Battlefield games every other year. No. Sorry, just no. Milking a series is a terrible thing to do, especially one that needs careful balancing because of the massive amount of variables. I used to be wishing that they would be making Bad Co 3 instead of Battlefield 4 at the moment, but I've now realized that Battlefield needs to die. Not because I hate it, but because I love the series. Either it needs to be mercy-killed at the moment, to ensure the good memories aren't spoiled by a series of crap games that progressively get worse, like COD- or EA dies. Somebody else picks up DICE and the Battlefield series. The problem is just EA. They've become worse each year, and this pattern will likely continue until the company files for bankruptcy.
  9. It's a tie for me, either game could go south. 343i could utterly fail in the 'mysterious' department of Halo 4, meaning that there's no mystery of the forerunners, no questions are asked that are meaningful, no new elements of storytelling are introduced, and the game is made up of shooting filler like in Halo Reach. However, being a COD game, BO2 could easily go downhill. With Halo it's hard to miss. Although I really would like it if the enemies got a basic beef in stats. Grunts are easily disposed of, Elites pose little threat, etc. Hopefully the Prometheans prove to be a greater fight than the flood or the covenant.
  10. Hopefully this turns out to be a battlefront-styled game. Maybe it'll be something like Battlefield 1943 for the arcade? Also, anyone here heard of Section 8 Prejudice? It's an arcade game with high-end graphics and maps bigger than Battlefield, so we know that an arcade game can be big. Here's to hope that Lucasarts doesn't screw it up like the Fail Unleashed or Kinect Star Wars. Urgh. But yeah. I'd even take a small game. So long as it's styled like battlefront, even just a bit. Also, rumor has it that Lucasarts was hiring people who have made FPS's for this game, so it looks like it'll be first person. So no surprise disappointment of it being a crappy tower defense game.
