Dr. Halsey

I would like to see locusts return. Maybe there could be a vehicle ( Covenant OR UNSC ) which were both flying and ground vehicle. Player could turn it from fast ground vehicle into aerial vehicle and vice versa .

I agree that Cortana shouldn't come back in halo 5. She may still "come back" by making appearance the way you said or there may be mysterious messages, visions etc similar to halo3's Cortana messages but we wouldn't be sure if she were dead or not. These would give Chief hope but also prevent him from letting go.. I'm kinda proud of how 343 had the courage to kill Cortana. It shows how they are able to go forward. Maybe they could also change the protagonist? Haha I can imagine the ****storm it would create.

There are interesting similarities between Chief and Didact and more so between Librarian and Halsey/Cortana. They both have been influenced by geas but I'm not sure if those geas are Didact/ Librarian geas or what. I hope halo 5 brings more light to this subject.

It's sounds very plausible that Librarian could have taken a copy of Cortana but she can't cure her. At least she didn't but maybe she did take copy from Cortana seeing her state and repaired her later.If 343 would want to do this they could do it. As for bs Angel maybe it's hint maybe not. What I am sure about is I wouldn't want to be naked AI in Halo game I don't know about you guys but even If Cortana came back I wouldn't want that the relationship between those two would be in as big role as in halo 4. They already did that theme in Halo 4 and now they could move into something different like Chief's traumas or something.

Warning halo 4 storyline (or possible future games) SPOILERS following. Yup it's again time for new Cortana Thread . Ok this thread isn't about Cortana being dead or not. We don't know for sure what happened to her. This thread is about how she could be part of Halo 5&6 and how she will come back .Please post comments and your own ideas and theories. Here are my thoughts: 1. Cortana is dead and will not return except maybe in chiefs vision or thoughts like in Halo 3. -I hope this isn't the case but if they can bring new interesting charachters I'm ok with it. 2. In the beginning of halo 5 Cortana comes back magically: "I thought I would die but I didn't" kinda like Johnsson did.(I know it has been explained later but it wasn't planned) -This is the worst case scenario but I trust 343 they wouldn't do this eventough fans are raging because death of cortana. 3. Master Chief learns that Cortana is wherever Didact is. - This would open many of possible ways to do the story of Chief trying to find Cortana like: 3.1 Cortana is imprisoned by Didact like Gravemind did in halo 3. 3.2 Didact hasn't Cortana but tricks Chief with fake messages. What happened to Cortana remains mystery 3.3. Didact has corrupted Cortana and uses her as bait for John. Red and evil Cortana trys to kill Chief but Chief can take out the evil from Cortanas heart . 4. Cortana goes back to Requiem like human "souls" did and we have to go there in halo 5 5. Cortana gets human body because of The composer. -Possible but I don't like this theory. It kinda reminds me of EDI's story from Mass Effect Series. 6. We get new Cortana model AI which of course is not Cortana as she herself said. 7. This whole thing was Cortana's scheme to break up with John and date other videogame heroes like Mario or Chell from Portal games. Please tell me your theories.

I understand how it may be confusing for one who hasn't read the books which is understandable for fan whose mother language isn't English. Those who speak english and call itself halo fans surely read the novels?I mean everyone reads at least sometimes books no? Those who have not read books can understand story if they put their minds into it. Surely there is some mysteries but are we so lazy that we need every fact and explanation easily? What fun is that? I don't like I have to watch terminals from Halo Waypoint. Those videos should have been more part of the game. As for storytelling the story was more unified than in previous halo games imo. There wasn't sudden jumps from one place to another though I think the story happened too much in cutscenes and not in the gameplay. Yeah I loved how they did this.

If not needler shotgun I would like to see covenant make more needle technology based weapons. I know there was needle rifle but it was basically Carbine with explosion effect. For example needle weapon which shoots one needle at time and has ability to track but is not impossible to dodge. It would had alternative fire which would shoot every needle from "magazine" in burst but there wouldn't be tracking ability. The weapon would essentially be long range needler but less cheap(needs more skill) and with more ammo making possible to kill several opponents without need to change a weapon

Did anyone else catch any references in halo 4 campaign to older games? There are at least some in Cortanas lines. " Dont make a girl a promise you can't keep"(After landing) That was pretty obvious and I gota huge Deja Vu feeling and Chief got probably too . I think there was a similar reference in Cortanas line before the pelican mission but I can't remember. Also when Cortana said: "Uh I'm sorry. Did I miss orbiting Forerunner planet at some point" "So NOW can we worry about the giant metal planet?" I couldn't help but think lines of Serina from Halo Wars. "So, am I the only one freaked out by the fact we're inside the planet?" Well maybe that's just me but I think they have taken lot of ideas from HW in terms of story and environment. ( I even made a thread of this where I hoped they would take influence from HW yay! ) I haven't found any clear references to Halo Wars though. Have you people found any references or anything that brings up old good halo memories?

I think Locust would fit perfectly for this job. On topic. I would like a fast moving covy enemy but it should be different from Promethean counterparts. As said maybe drones could come back? No no! I hate those little bastardz. Just remembered how annoying they were fight against( at least in previous games)

(Spoilers) Good point. It would't be first time for Gravemind to persuade AI's change sides. Knights were AIs but also humans. Not something Didact could fully trust. The weapons may actually be low tech "toys" which were powerful enough to decimate flood but would suck against forerunner armor.

I agree that flood shouldn't come back as enemy they were before but if 343 makes them differen't enough...Sure. Flood can transform and I would like to see flood less space zombie like and more well... space monsters . I mean less humanoid more unique and scary( i'm not sure if they may make it scarier and keep the age limit same)

If I'm not mistaken OP meant that Librarian used Geas to create (human) charachter who would be (human) version of herself. Maybe Librarion did not mean to make "human Librarian" but someone who would share similar goals and have skills to succeed in them. You could say that Chief is human version of Didact( "Warrior who trys to save the day"). Hmmm... This would explain why John and Cortana became so close . I like this theory even though it wasn't true. Maybe Geas are why Spark said " You are Forerunner "?

I love the Locust so I hope they do this. It would basically be covenant equivalent for Mantis. Mantis is kind of second tank for UNSC and Locust would be same for covenant. They should just balance it well and give it strenghts and weaknesses.

This kinda annoying. Forerunners weapons are far from being superior. But you have to remember these were probably produced in the late forerunner-flood war when there was lack of resources and the weapons were made to fight flood( which propably did not have shields). As them being magazine fed... Maybe it can be explained with flood not able to download weapons(?) and with forerunner tech energy weapons could last long time without needing more energy and energy weapons could be charged remotely by Gravemind. Just guessing. Also as said Gameplay is not always canon.

Curious. Very curious. Funny thing is that when I first read Forerunner trilogy and learned about librarian she reminded me of Halsey. Genius among her people and ready to do anything if she thought it was necessary. Both tried to save humanity and also succeeded. After reading the OP (, the geas, Cortana, Halsey helps to save librarian although doesn't know it) it all comes together. Everything fits. I didn't understand how Librarian could make Chiefs combat skin and Cortana with hidden genes but the connection was Halsey who was there making them. Halsey also helped making Infinity . No one else understands forerunner tech better than Halsey. There must be connection between these two awesome characters.

At first I though this would be stupid idea but then I realised they could balance the weapon in many ways and make it really fun to use. A needle weapon which shoots multiple needles at once. The weapon would be almost as powerful as shotgun at close range but has only one or two shots before reloading. Secondly the needles would not scatter much but they would slow down quick after going outside "shotgun range". Needles would also have ability to track but because the needles would be slow it will be quite easy to dodge. The weapon would be almost as dangerous as shotgun and it would also be powerful at longer ranges if he player was good using it. It only needs name.... Maybe Shatter? Edit I read post above me. Sounds good and it seems I had quite similar idea

Actually yes but it has been some time since i read the books and with my English I don't know the details. Anyway it feels stupid they did not try to save themselves. But ff course that's just "human thinking". Forerunners were not logical from our point of view. Ok maybe it's logical but humans and forerunners should have shared the mantle.

Wouldn't that be a interesting charachter developement? I mean if they can do it believable. After learning more of storm/covenant and possiple flood invasion what alternative he has? Firing halos? Forerunners can't come back unless they have a secret gene bank which did not work after firing halos. Also Jul 'Mdamas theory of Jul 'Mdama sounds plausible .

I don't buy the fact that forerunners did not try save their race because it was to give mantle to humans. There must be more to it. I hope we hear more of it in future.

Just saying that Didact shouldn't stay as main villain trough the trilogy. If the flood comes back maybe he will be an ally at some point. Gravemind and Jul 'Mdama or some other dude will take his place. I don't personally like Didact so much and I would like to see more 'Mdama in campaign.

Well after deevolving humans Forerunners possibly destroyed what was left of human stuff or/and things made by humans weren't as long-lasting as forerunners. It may also be hard to say what old artifacts were forerunner and what human. I think there was references to ancient humans in Halo legends: There was ancient architecture which did not look like forerunners
