Fall of Man OOC Thread. Halo/ROTR crossover.
Surveillance replied to Composite Armour's topic in Member Created Work
1. I couldn't understand anything you wrote 2. Humans have limits. You aren't going to be able to remember 7 languages while doing military things. I don't care what if he is 31 or not. Ledgend, I tried. -

Let us begin. Languages: Nobody knows 7 languages by the time they are 27. That would take a long time and dedication not in the military. Pick 2, three at max and I'll check. If you choose Chinese as a second one, no more because Mandarin, not sure if you noticed, is pretty difficult. Armour: This isn't Star Wars, so looks nobody looks like that. Just because we have the Covenant in this doesn't mean anybody can be a Spartan or a Clone Trooper. And think about it, CLONE TROOPER? Are we doing Halo or Star Wars; Halo. Now big bulky armour that withstands tons of bullets is unrealistic. The closest they have is ballistic vests and Kevlar, which won't withstand a high caliber sniper or rapid machine gun. It may stop assault rifles, but it sure as hell will leave some bruises. Plus, an infiltrator would rely on stealth, and a ballistic vest will slow you down. Branch: I don't want to pretend that I know more about your own country than you do, but come on! Once again, this isn't Star Wars. If you want to be a Special Forces Operative, think about the SAS or UKSF. Backstory: I had trouble reading the back story, maybe it was just the grammar but that isn't the point. I know Ledgend isn't really pissy about backstory, but it seems kind of generic. And also it makes it seem like you are the hero of the ECA: 'they need him more than ever'. I'm sure they need all of their highly skilled special forces operatives more than ever. (Ledgend, feel free to correct me) -
I think I can make it.

I know it isn't my place to critique... but.. seriously ranger? 'Built in translator?' So that means he could go to Rome and understand Latin? Bullcrap Ranger, this isn't Star Wars. To be able to understand every dialect of every language would take thousands of life times. Come on. There is so much other stuff I could talk about but I'll leave Ledgend to it. -
Ranger, pure Titanium is so weak. It may be heat resistant, but it is brittle as hell. It only becomes strong when you alloy iron and aluminum with it.

I need to get this off my chest...

I admit -
The title is usually a metaphor, or in a lot of cases, the name of something in the story. For example: Leviathan, a fictional World War I book where its Metal(Central Powers) against Nature(Allied Powers). There is a massive airship in the story called the HMS Leviathan. As you can see, the title relates to the book. Another example: In The Apothecary, an American girl moves to England in 1949. She meets an English boy who wants to be a spy named Benjamin. Benjamin has a father who owns a drugstore, so he is an Apothecary. He also holds the secrets of the Cold War while it happens. Once again, the title relates to the book. So in your story, Axilus, where does Optimus Prime or someone else write fanfiction. If they don't at all, then change the title.

Wonderful read! Aww, Edward we didn't have 'Cold War' yet.

What makes any genre good? It is the same thing: Uniqueness. If you read a book that had even the slightest indication that the universe used energy sabers, you would think it is a rip off of Halo or Star Wars or many other Sci-Fi stories. If you want to write a good Sci-Fi, you have to think about your inspirations. When I first started writing fiction, I found myself using way to many of the same ideas from other books that I read. They should be inspirations that allow you to create something entirely different, not direct copies. Feel free to disagree, btw.

Very nice post. Congratulations. -
Privet ---- I just wanted to apologize for everything I have said or done to all of you that is disrespectful and hurtful. I do have problems, RedStar is not wrong. But I just wanted to sew some open wounds with all of you fantastic members. You are my friends, and nothing will change that. I had no right to call out RedStar for banning JXZAW from the Shoutbox. It was wrong and I'm sorry. RedStar you are an amazing person and this forum wouldn't be the same with out you. I'm deeply sorry. To all my good friends, including Ledgend, Yang, Ranger, Magical Love, Zaguroth, D-38 Boss, and so many others, I am extremely sorry for the way I have behaved today and in the past. I have gone through various tough times and it was immoral of me to take my anger out on you guys. In fact, you guys have saved my life multiple times, so I thank you for that. I hope we can all stay friends, forever and ever until death. It was you guys who made me the member I am today, so once again, I am so sorry for the way that I treated all of you. This was wrong, immoral, and downright absurd for me to act like this towards you all. I'm sorry. And finally, to Bnus. The person who has tried to help me countless times but I simply responded in anger and difficulty. I thank you for everything you have done, for me and for this forum. You are amazing. And so I conclude with this. If any of you have to vent your inside hatred, I am completely fine with it. You have a right to criticize me. But I hope that we can all just move on and start over. I hope that we can always be best friends, and I say that to every single one you. Thank you all so much, HaloGeek

On the ECA lore, I really like, but I need to ask about something. The Benelux countries are France, Belgiun, and the Netherlands. They all are on the English Channel. I'm not sure if you meant this or you just screwed up your geography, but that would mean that Russia would have already crossed all of Eastern Europe and most of Middle Europe(Germany, Switz, Austria, Italy, Denmark). And I mean Middle on a Vertical Standpoint. So if you did mean the invasion to get this far, forgive me, but I just needed to clarify. -
I'll give you some writing advice. If you want to make a book, you can't have every single line be dialogue, as it was in what you showed us. If you want to write a play, then do that. I am a veteran writer. I have gone through massive storms of put-downs and everything. Books need action outside dialogue, unless you plan to tell the story from the point of view of a bystander who watches the hero do everything and the writes it down, the book being said bystander telling it to another person. Just some advice.

2014 Forum Presidential Election Rigged?
Surveillance replied to Snipe MD's topic in General Discussion
You need to stop, now. I'm tired of it. 343ICF President is an intangible nonexistent unimportant rank that is of no practical use to anyone that has ever existed or ever will. That is how I see it. So you need either shut your mouth and stop disturbing the peace, or voice your complaints in a quieter manner. (I have no intentions of backseat Moderating, simply giving my opinion) -
