  1. It would appear that you have suaded me in the direction of bringing back the sandbox. My map Stank Pitrahedron touches the top of reach's forgeworld, and I surely cannot recreate it or any iteration of it within halo 4's worlds. I cannot believe i forgot about the 'fine tuning' tool vs manually fine tuning an object. Totally agree, sir!
  2. #1 awesome #2 I have had no trouble with the sizes. For large aerial maps use impact and create a fortress in the open area as low as you can go, and you should be able to build very tall structures. #3 Don't use magnets. The magnet system is for those who are not obessive about placement. Coordinate system is your friend #4 awesome #5 ON POINT! my friend #6 awesome. Custom games allow for modification via general player traits and trait zones. Slightly irrelavent to what you said, as I'm sure you were referring to matchmaking. #7 Couldn't agree more!
  3. Good luck. Keep us posted. Question. What gametype are you forging under? I cannot imagine how this would make a difference, but it just might.
  4. No word just yet. Patience is your only friend. I'm sure they are working on implementing community games in the next update. In the meantime, you should look for forgers. I have just started a thread regarding master forgers for a new forger clan. If you have any friends who are forgers send them there. if they do not like what they see, have them look in the comments for a link to an existing team of custom gamers / forgers. add me if you wanna forge, or play custom maps. I have 6 oddball / slayer maps thus far, and I build daily.
  5. A test-forger is a tester who is also a forger. The forger part is important, because forgers can come up with simple solutions to complex ideas as well as implement them. GryffinGuy added Starburstin added Rea1 FN Will.....cannot add? cannot find? try looking for me. I would like to avoid joining an existing clan if possible, only to ensure that master forgers are all a clan consists of. I do appreciate all levels of forge skill, but this go around for Halo 4, I would like to do a little more learning than teaching.
  6. The Halo 4 community is in need of some master forgers. I have been having trouble trying to convince players to join custom games, so I thought to try here. Sooner or later the involvement of community games will be expanded upon, and we would do best to be ready with some awesome maps. If there are any master forgers out there in need of tester-forgers, they need not look any further. The following requirements should be met: 0)Originality and Creativity are quite obvious! 1) Symmetrical use of environment and forge pieces. 2)Asymmetrical forge skill equal to or greater than that of a symmetrical forger. 3)Knowledgeable use of advanced settings up to and including offbeat gametypes/maps like hockey and skeeball 4)Mastery of object placement in regards to player movement under different environmental circumstances. 5)Scaling capablities are a must. Forge offers a variety of size options for the same map concepts. And lastly, I would like to invite forgers who don't always go for the 0,0,0 orienation. Forge's worlds are not always 0,0,0, disallowing the easy building of Symm maps. This often forces us forgers who are more obsessive-compulsive to make Asymm maps. However, from this difficulty, I have produced all of my most favored maps. I will keep forging in the meantime. 6 maps and counting. b0b is here Zero in b0b
  7. Set the state to phased. Make sure you are placing the spawns slightly above the surface you are spawning on. If you can't get it perfect, edit the coordinates until it is where you like. If you have a map that has lost spawns, place a new spawn and select the delete all of these function. You will need to replace your deleted spawns.
  8. FIRST and foremost, you must get used to initially setting up a moveable object in the PHASED state. Set all instances of THAT object at once or it will get EVIL-TRICKY. Next, and only after you have the objects where you want them, you must check that they are NOT touching anything (It should look suspended in the air, EVEN IF ONLY SLIGHTLY) A little foreshadowing. ORDER MATTERS PHASED THEN NORMAL THEN NEW ROUND OR NO-GO Next you set all of the objects to NORMAL. It doesn't matter if they fall while you do this. Any adv settings enter now. - Immediately enter the advanced settings on the last instance of the object and set both min/max to the total number of THAT object that you have. Next you start a new round Immediately save if you know you are done. If not, just continue to edit in this order and save when finished. TAKE A MOMENT TO RELAX........and ENJOY. Expanding on the last post, I left out some advanced details. Advanced settings for spawn sequences and spawn times should be set during the transition from phased to normal state. This should ensure that your objects appear when they should, and for as long as they should.
  9. Assuming you only have one set of initial spawns while occuring this error, I must ask the following questions: Have you placed a single initial spawn, editied said spawn, and copied that spawn into all other instances of inital spawns that you have? Are you trying to spawn out of bounds? Do you have soft kill boundries around the spawn rather than kill zones? 1) Make sure you have not edited the advanced settings beyond your comprehension. Place a blank initial spawn by the first spawn you think you put down. Check both sets of advanced settings and make sure the first few settings' numbers match. 2) Spawn in bounds. 3) Delete all soft kill boundries. These should only cause problems if you have them enabled outside of objective based games.
  10. That was an excellent introduction. I woud like to add the importance of having the magnet settings offf enntirely when manually editing coordinates. If they are left on the object will not move. Additionally, if you are having problems with symmetrical orienation, manually set an object's orienation before turning on ANY magnet settings. When an object is placed exactly where you would like, all other objects' magnets used against that object will be set to its orienation. Check coordinates often when mixing manually set and magnet set objects, as they tend to act up a little. You may find yourself editing magnet set objects more than you care to. I would also like to note the physical location of the magnets on the objects. These amber circles can be tricky to align the way you picture it in your mind. Prepare for compromise and it will speed up your build times.
  11. I used to have this problem in reach. That issue was resolved by making sure all objects desired to be in an immovable state be set to "phased". Additionally, start a new round before saving to allow all mixes of normal, fixed, and phased objects to reach a "reset" state, before the save occurs. A final option would be to use the left shortcut to lock the object.
