I think what he meant was it cannot kill with just one mag while being single fired. Charged up, yes it can one shot if they are close enough.

While I dont mind these things you have mentioned when it comes to the current system, I certainly hope these kinds of changes will be made to the actual ranked playlists they intend to implement early next year.
-
Everything is relative. I myself only ever got to 42 on my current account. Could be that I suck but I smash the majority of players I meet. Could be that I am above average and the majority of people online really are just that bad and you are just that much better than myself...
-
COD and competitive in the same sentence... lol
-
You are correct. I will change my tune and be a more productive member of this site. I believe after every shot the DMR should bloom out to half the size of your screen and take 3 seconds to reset. No joke.

I did play Halo 3. I am aware of how its ranking system worked and agree with you on it being superior to this progression system. Id much rather get a rank based on how well I play rather than how much I play. What I am getting at is, why do you care so much? Since rank in this game means nothing, why are you so hung up on getting all the XP you can and ranking up so high? I am going to go out on a limb and assume you are actually talking about Halo 4s progression system ranking rather than an xp cap, yes? Your last comment sounded like you want a 1-50 put back into play (I do too) but the thread title and your first post make it sound like you are unhappy with an arbitrary cap on xp that you claim in in effect. You bash the progression system for being inferior to the 1-50 yet are mad that you cant run through said prog. system faster.... I dont quite understand what it is you want.

You don't have to be a vet to know what murf said is true. The only person here claiming to be a vet is necro and the things he says strike me as very inexperienced with the Halo games. You mockery was poorly done. It was bad and you should feel bad.

This guy here... Does truth serum run in your veins or what?
-
Yes, Yes it is.
-
Does seem kind of dumb. Afraid of people boosting? Boosting to what, a higher "rank" that they will eventually get anyway? Still, why does this make you not want to play? A high rank does not denote skill, just time played. If you are only playing for "rank", armour, etc, I think you are taking the wrong thing away from the game.

A friend and I were discussing this earlier. It does seem a little ridonkulous how many things give you medals and how easy they are to get. Next there will be death spree medals... Gotta give the bks some kind of pat on the back. lol

Several points here. First off, the way I play Halo is to get as many kills as possible while dying as little as possible and doing anything and everything in my power (save for cheating) to make that happen. In Big Team, that means (at least for me) doing as I said. If you want to run around a huge map being aggressive then you are going to leave yourself open to being picked off. Now I do agree with that sentiment when it comes to smaller maps like what is in regular Team Slayer but that isnt what we are talking about. I will also agree that Halo is/was about map and weapon control. This ordnance and general lack of map weapons shenanigans is fine and well for what would be a social playlist as I do find it fun in its own way but hopefully when they role out the 1-50 like system they talked about, those playlists will be more like older Halos. Ive strayed from my original point tho...The DMR is fine. Just because you cant run out in the open constantly doesnt make it OP. While I havent done much spraying with the AR, I have had it used on me quite a bit. As I said in another thread, several times I have been left scratching my head as I was mowed down with the AR faster than I could land 5 shots with my DMR (my aim isnt perfect but I land all my shots at that range 99% of the time) from distances I used to consider relatively safe in such a situation. So I did a custom just earlier today to test how many bullets it took to kill and from what distance. IIRC, the AR took 16 landed bullets to kill. (I believe this was the same in Reach) However, these 16 bullets landed faster than they would have in Reach due to being more accurate even when being full autoed. So while the DMR is virtually the same as it was, the AR has been made better up close than it was. I am going to test all this again now. If I made a mistake, I will come back and correct myself.

Between the addition of the saw and the AR now being more accurate, blind spray and pray is now more viable than in past Halos. So how can you support nerfing the BR or any precision weapon for that matter?
-
2nd thread that you and I have both cleared up the 4sk, 5sk DMR confusion... Does nobody else test these things asap when a new Halo drops or what?
-
I see. Well the way you worded it comes off as if you have never really played before, as if you didnt expect this to happen. The DMR in Reach and a good BR user in 3 would have done the same to you if you ran out in the open in Big Team, something a "veteran" would know. No, I am not kidding. Stick behind rocks/walls/ obstacles whenever possible and pop as many peeps as you can. Only stay out in the open long enough to make it to different cover after they figure out where you are. You said Big Team, not objective. You have no reason to leave an area and go anywhere in Big Team unless forced out by the enemy. As far as Objective is concerned, Idk what to say as I am partial to just sitting back and picking people off with the DMR til the game ends.
-
DMR takes 5 head shots to kill. Also in Big team, do not go running around out in the open and do not stand in one spot for too long. If this is what you are doing, you deserve to get killed over and over again. Stick to cover, look around before moving, avoid open areas, etc. I assume you are new.
-
Precisely. Valid points? Most of them are nonsensical rubbish. 1,2,8,9, and 12 were silly at best and fail trolling at worst.
-
Agreed. Drop in/out, loadouts, and ordnance would be fine in a social playlist. In fact, I actually would like them in that case. But when they bring back the 1-50, I hope they keep that all far away.
-
Indeed. Ive tilted my head and uttered "huh?" in disbelief several times this week as I got killed by an AR while using the BR/DMR from a distance I used to consider safe. I feel 2 player custom game to test damage, range, accuracy, etc of the automatic weaponry is in order.

Competitive Skill will be Visible on Waypoint
Benchimus replied to Tallgeese's topic in Announcements
Honestly, I like the idea of making it only view-able on waypoint. It should discourage most of the boosting, deranking, and selling of accounts. In 3, If some attention wh.ore bum couldnt earn a 50, he would buy one. Now with it only on waypoint and with no way to show off his faux-pa E-peen, he likely wont. Denying these bums something they want makes me smile. If you really cared about your own rank and how good you can do, you wouldnt care if other people can see it. You would be doing it for yourself. And to those complaining of not being able to see how good the team they are about to play is, why does that matter? Would you play any different with that information available to you? Besides, as soon as the game starts you will figure out how good they are. If they stomp on you, they are better than you. If not, not so much. And before anybody says how I must suck and dont want my rank to be made visible because I suck and all that jazz, Idc really. Best I ever had in H3 was a 44. I was happy with it. Some trash talk about my video game skills from random people online whom I will never meet is among the least of my concerns. -
Were we separated at birth?...
-
While I too will eagerly be awaiting a 1-50 like systems implementation, I like the idea of making it only visible on waypoint. Is it really that much of a chore or do you just want to show it off to people? Do you really need to check it after every game? Would you knowing what it is after every game change how well you would play? Play several games in a row and then go check it. If you really cared about getting your number up as high as possible and not just trying to show off to people, this wouldnt be much of a problem for you.

Big worded sentence here... what weapon are you talking about? Your first line sounds like your talking about the Binary rifle but then in your second line you talk about a gun that you charge up (bolt shot is the only Prom. weapon you can charge and it certainly wont reach across the map that way). The incineration cannon maybe? It fires a powerful blast that kills on one hit but Idk if it will reach across the map or not. Even if it will, its a fairly slow projectile. Still, you dont charge it up.
