Do you find the AR to be really effective? Do you aim for the head with it? I struggle mightily with that weapon.

You do have access to them. You just need to be lvl 50. Others won't have access until they are released systematically.

Zanderos, I agree. It comes down to strategy and HOW YOU USE THE WEAPON. It doesn't make the weapon overpowered if you have the SKILL and KNOWLEDGE to know how to use it effectively. Yes, the DMR is powerful. So is the BR, the AR, the Magnum, hell, even that Promethian handgun is beastly in close range. EVERY weapon is strong as **** in this game. However, they are not all suited for the same situations, obviously. They are all equally strong in their own right. This is, of course, my opinion and you clearly disagree with me. So let's just agree to disagree.

Try retesting your Xbox Live connection. That fixed it for me. Hope that helps, bud.

] No you don't. Skill level is the biggest determining factor in who wins a battle. Also, some people excel at using certain weapons as opposed to others. There are a lot of factors involved. Some people excel with the DMR while other people just can not use it skillfully. The same thing applies for the BR. Hell, one of my buddies LOVES the assault rifle and cleans up with it rather nicely. I, on the other hand, can not use the AR to save my life (literally). The effectiveness of a weapon depends entirely on the person using it.

I think my current favorite for slayer would have to be: Battle Rifle (or light rifle) DMR Plasma grenade Jet pack Firepower (allowing 2 primary weapons) Mobility or Awareness (these two are interchangable for me) Obviously, this changes depending on the map and game-type but I find the above loadout to be kind of a swiss army knife. I can handle any situation with it. How about you? What's your favorite loadout?

This. Yes, the DMR has very good range, but as long as you know what you're doing and you work with your team (which I know is not in the vocabulary of many Halo players), you will be fine. The DMR is not as grossly overpowered as some people seem to think.

Another compromise for fans who don't like Halo 4: don't play it. It's simple. If you don't like it then don't play it and stay off of the message boards with all of your whining. I don't come on here to listen to a bunch of kids complain. If you don't like it, leave it out of the Xbox.

Then you are clearly playing a different game than everyone else. Halo 4 is nothing like CoD. Not one bit. At all. Go play some CoD and come back and tell me if it was anything like Halo 4.

Halo 4 is an amazing as is. There do not need to be changes. If you want the style of gameplay you've mentioned, then go play H3 or Reach. The servers are still up and people still play those games. If you don't like H4, then don't play it. It's simple. But don't go telling the developers that you "represent the masses" and feel the game should be changed. That's just stupid and irresponsible.
