  1. The spaces are actually pretty big if you want to build over the lake in erosion, the space on impact or outside the ravine. The problem is, you are stuck using all forge objects. There isn't enough variety of textures/colors/lighting to make 100% forge object maps look that nice. I like to build maps around existing terrain and there really isn't anything good to work with in the existing maps. I would like to see some more flat, grassy areas with clear skies so the maps aren't so dark. I would also like to be able to pick from any of the skin pallets on one map. I would love a rusty looking base on one side, then a cleaner looking base on the other. I would like to use the pipes, bases, etc... on more than one map. This would go a long way in making Forge worth the hours we put into to some of our maps. Also, I was so disappointed that the custom game types have been stripped down. Lots of my favorite games, I have no way or re-creating in Halo 4. I realize they are trying to take Halo 4 in their own direction but I hope 343i doesn't forget what made Halo great to begin with. If I wanted to play COD, I would play COD.
  2. I would love to see grouping! Please, Please, Please! Or a select all so I can move the entire map up, down, side, etc... I frequently need to tweak the location of all the object, especially since we don't have a big area on an outside map, I am having to use the side space on Ravine and fit things in. Just spend hours building a map and it's a touch too close to the existing cliff. Also, would love to be able to pick a theme for the object and have access to all forge objects on all maps. I might want the Erosion object on Ravine and it's color scheme. This would be huge! Please 343i upgrade forge!
  3. Make sure you choose CTF as the gametype before you go into Forge.
  4. FM Lemon, have you gone to the flag stand properties, go to advanced and set one of the labels to "ctf_flag_return"? That should fix it for you.
  5. I set one up for testing purposes and all I have on the map is a defender spawn, attacker spawn, neutral spawn and a flag return for both attacker and defender. It loaded up so I am not sure what Destar is talking about when he says a Flag Capture Zone. I can't find a Flag Capture Zone anywhere.
  6. And this was really my main point. I think a focus group of people that are halo players would be invaluable to 343i and the Halo franchise. I am not saying they did a terrible job at all and the campaign is incredibly good. Forge and customs just fell a little short and from reading a lot of the forum post, I am not the only one who feels this way. I hope they are reading these post and take our suggestions as constructive and not as just complaining. The game is great, now it's time to make it awesome!

  9. Dead serious, as a huge fan of the Halo series, a former architect turned web developer, creative, driven, smart adult, I would love to work for 343i and help make forge what it potentially could be!
  10. I would like to echo the suggestions about the forge environment but also want to beg for our old game types back. Speedflag, Assault, CTF one flag, etc.... This was a huge disappointment when I realized a lot of the old options are missing.
  11. That's right, I would love to come work for you as a consultant or employee to help you work out all the issues you fell short on with Forge and custom games. I have been with Halo since the beginning and have been building custom games and maps for as long as it was an option. I understand what gammers are looking for in custom games and could be a huge assest to your company and getting this Forge back on track. Seriously, hire me and together we could rule the world. Well, at least the gaming world!
  12. I don't agree. I think forge in H4 should be at least just as useful as it was in Reach. I feel 343 took a huge step back taking out so many custom game options. I was really looking forward to re-creating some of my more popular games/maps but I can't, and NO, getting creative DOES NOT FIX the problem. Some things you can't make happen at all with the new Custom Game settings. I do like the new objects, I do like magnets and I do like the copy function. Wish they would allow grouping so you could copy a group but one things at a time. Please 343, just give us our gametypes back and we can deal with the crappy map options.
  13. Revine is the only one with good lighting and there isn't enough space for a big custom map without having to work around the structures. Impact has a huge open space but is dark and monocrome. We need more options. That is what keeps the game going so long, otherwise people will ditch it and move on, maybe to never return to the franchise.

  15. I totally agree. The most important thing at the moment seems to be the lack of gametype options. 70% of my play time and lots of my friend's as well was custom games. Here are some of the games we are missing like crazy. 1.Speedflag (currently we can't drive over and pick up the flag like we could in Reach) 2. Assault, one bomb, two bomb. (I know I can use Griffball for neutral bomb but common! We need assault back) 3. One flag CTF (this should have been obvious) 4. Ability to set different pick up, return spots for CTF. I don't always want to pick up the flag in the base. We had some great CTF games in H3 that where setup where you pick up the flag somewhere other than the opponents base. 5. Neutral flag (again, obvious) I also want to echo having more lighting options would be great as well as another open area for forging in. Impact has a great open space but that map is too gray and dark. Would love another Forge World environment. Would it be that hard to port that map over to H4?
