  1. COD is a run and gun shooter when it is lower skill and high skill vs lower skill. High skill vs High skill it is a very slow passed tactical shooter. Based on what I know from talking to an MLG COD champion. Remember HCE.. Or H2 or even H3 Even Halo Reach(worst game/underseller of series). All had a super weapon. HCE Pistol H2 BR H3 BR(nerfed+bad coding led to dispointment in series) Then Halo reach. For me it ended at the Beta. 2 days was all it took for me to be bored with a "Halo" game when I had played and enjoyed them for countless hours for 8 years. Not trying to convice you as much as 343. The primary design of the primary weapon directly affected sales. HCE amazing. H2 blew up. H2 Great. H3 blew up. H3 disapointing but workable. Halo reach beta. Unplayable. Halo reach. Big sales for a game but fell short by several million just to match halo 3 when it should have beaten it.
  2. Sigh. Le stupid people wanting stuff for free again.... Dedicated servers are EXPENSIVE. Not just the hardware to run 10-20k+ simulaniout games. But the Bandwidth and Data COST OMG. There is a reason Games with dedicated servers have Fees of no less than 10$s a month. Reach if it had anything it had great Netcode. This game so far seems to have great netcode too. STFU you lazy freebie kids. Now what might happen in Reality. Now if 343 has the Coding done already and they want to start a paid service for dedicated servers after we get past the first patch or 2 and the games issues few as they are are fleshed out. It would be great for Tournaments online and Gamebattles. Also if possible the ability to have a person set up a BOX as a Server. Basically just in observer, basic(stats) or blind(can't have cheating) mode during the game.
  3. this would make the game better. I So want to use it. I thought I was going to get Zombie level thrusters. The description is great. The result is FAIL. UTTER FAIL. 1st person is a must. Longer is a must. I want it to be a alternative to Jetpacks. No Vertical movement but great for jumping distances and suprising campers.
  4. l got bored with reach in the Beta in the first 2 days. Halo 4 so far the fundementals of a great game are all there. Some minor Fine tuning but a roaring success compared to every halo game since halo CE. Halo 2 had to have the BR patch to be playable(Was a noob at the time so didn't notice. Am not a noob now so I know why noobs didn't notice the problems with the last 2 games). I am rusty but not a noob so I think I can say you are all wrong. Do you know why more people complain. Because they aren't busy playing the game enjoying it. A few hundred people are complaining a few 100 thousand are playing enjoying it so far. the MLG forums mostly have minor settings complaints. So maybe the sea of new players are mad about getting killed by the DMR but otherwise. I don't see this huge technical problem with the game.
  5. the DMR doesn't have an issue. People have skill issues. People do not want to learn to play the game. They want to run around like idiots and not be punished for it. I perfer the Smaller maps. So not this happy go sniper BS I keep hearing. Were the heck did that come from I been gone for a few years. Arena Shooter. = games like Quake and Doom. Not that I ever played them much. **** were they fun once I got over the initial learning curve back in the day. I only jump on and play. So I have yet to confirm if the Bloom is there to make aiming at range more difficult or if it actually adds spread to the weapon. So if it actually adds spread you are correct. It is not a perfect weapon. It should be pin point every time no matter what. I would have little issue with the BR and LR having the same. Now reread sentance 3-4. Most maps are not Arena style but most games in 6 months will be played on the maps closest to Arena maps. The single most popular halo map of all time was an Arena map. See if you can name it.
  6. This game is a Run and Gun Arena Shooter. That means super fast paced gameplay. In halo 3 then worse in reach it moved away from Arena play into COD play with shields and you lost millions of copies in SALES so 80-120+million dollars not counting the lost subscriptions and MS points. I didn't have XBL for 2 years after reach and only a few months after the bloom patch. I really don't care what you think. The Sales speak for themselves. We moved back to this game because we were promised a competitive run and gun arena shooter again like Halo CE-2. Any kind of nerf to the DMR would be stepping back. It would be the opposite of halo 2 when they removed the spread from the BR. Which was the decision that made halo 2 a legendary game instead of the last halo game.
  7. Posted somewhere else. Why I think Halo 4 is a win as a title. Coming from a player with 300K+ MP kills and 6 50s in halo 3. Also I skipped Reach till a year ago cause of the badness of bloom. Halo 4 is what every game after halo 2 should have been. A prefect blend between halo 1-2 gameplay. Halo 3 was a failure on every level for gamplay and coding. It was a win on new doodads like Forge and theater. Halo reach was a failure on ever level in gameplay till bloom could be turned off. But was a techincal masterpiece(netcode was really good) Halo 4 got the Amazing Coding of Reach pumped up to another level in graphics. It Got the great core gameplay that made made Halo CE and H2 the legends they are. It got Halo Reaches Armor ablities except they aren't stupid and or OP so they might work competitively. I wanted spint as a default since H2, I hate following stupid people that I can't catch. It got a progression system that attracts new players and COD players to build the base but it so far only seems subtle and in a year everyone will have all the same options so no one will complain that something is OP cause everyone will have it.(maybe new players should gets 50 games of double exp for every 6 months this game is out.) We got the weapon variaty this game needed for competitve and casual players. Several weapons fit into the same nich but they all work a little differently and give casuals variaty and competitive players options down the line as the game evolves. FYI SAW IS OP and I love it. I love that I can actually get multi kills again because the weapons aren't weak with not enough ammo. Perfections seem gone. Makes me sad but ow well. Story seems meh. Gotta replay end by myself. Loud obnocious people might have ruined it or made me miss something. Several maps look like strong MLG maps without major changes. Unlike halo 3 or reach. I am waiting on someone to tell me if forge is good cause I don't want to lose myself into that black hole of life. On launch this game has a more competitive feel by far than anything. I sucked to much when halo 2 game out to remember the badness of the default BR. Serious complaints...I don't have enough time to play......Need to make a Xbox laptop. Seriously. Even without a battery just make 1 with a quality screen that I can plug into a wall anywhere with wifi and play. Real complaints. Thusters suck. I watched a pre release playing of Zombies and that is what I expected seeing as it should be like a jetpack but with a boost across distances. As it is now thrustser just **** with my first person perspective and don't make me go faster. They might help get across small gaps but it isn't worth non just using a jetpack.

  9. I see all the new players crying about the DMR and stuff. These are the same COD players that caused BLOOM to dominate Reach(not a halo game). I quit HALO. As a hardcore fan since I first started playing Halo CE in 2002 when I was 12 with my friend. That was a PAINFUL reality I had to except after the Halo 3 failure and the Halo Reach Beta got boring in 2 days. 2 days. Tetris is more fun than Reach was. Reach Underperformed vastly as a Halo Title. As 1 of the several million people that turned off for Reach I am telling you. DO NOT LISTEN to the nerf squad. They are all new players who are being punished by the lack of a rank system+ all the people who like me decided to come back because of the steps you took in Reach to make it competitive again. If you did anything. to the DMR. Make it a 6 shot. Increase ROF to =same performance and reduce Bloom and increase clip to 18. Making players land more shots increases the skill gap add a little more killing power per clip/ammo without changing the techincal performance verse other weapons. I have not played enough with the LR or the BR or Carbine in MP to give a final judgement on the comparison. But I can say. If you **** this up and copitutulate to the kids that will not play this game in 6 months anyway you will kill this game forever. I have upwards of 300K+ kills in Halo games. I turned off for Reach and I am telling you not to listen to anyone complaining about the weapons with the highest skill cap. Could the weapons need modifications of less that 5% in some areas. yes. Should you do it to have a net loss in the skill gap available for the Compettive groups that made this series the epic franchise it is. HELLS NO. TLDR. NOOB want to nerf things that punish them for playing like noobs ignore them. End Rant. Thank you.
