Eyes
“They were starring at me. From everywhere. The closet, underneath the bed, and the window.”
Christy woke up disturbed and sweaty.
“Mommy!” Cried Christy. “Mommy! Come quick!”
“What’s wrong Christy?”
“I had the dream again. But this time they were closer. And they looked very mean.”
“It’s ok honey.” Soothed Angela. “It’s just a dream they can’t hurt you.”
“But I’m still scared. Can you sleep with me tonight?”
“I guess I could. But I just need to do a couple things before I come crawl in with you. I will be right back, ok?”
“Ok mommy, but be quick!”
As soon as Christy’s mother left the room, Christy became real nervous.
“Snap!”
“Who’s there?” Christy squeaked. “Please don’t hurt me.”
Then everything went dead silent…
“Ok, I’m back Christy… Christy? Christy where are you? You better not be playing games with me miss.”
“Oh? There you are!” Angela said as she turned around.
“Oh!!” Angela screamed.
Standing behind Angela was Christy holding a knife I one hand. But where her face was, was nothing. Her head had nothing on it.
“It’s time to become one us mommy…”
Angela screamed. Christy woke up disturbed and sweaty.
“Mommy? Mommy? Are you there?”
“What do you need Christy?”
“I had the dream again.”
“What dream?”
“The one where people have no faces.”
Angela stepped closer into the light and leaned toward Christy and whispered.
“That was no dream!!”
