  1. I just think for John to finally have a happy ending, he needs to be reunited with Cortana. Unless 343 are planning a sad ending.......
  2. I really do hope Cortana comes back. I think it'd be good if she wasn't in 5 and not back until the end of 6. You can then start to feel that gap that MC would be feeling, that emptiness of knowing she isn't there to guide you or anything. And then, after he has saved the galaxy from total destruction, the Precursors return, who have been watching over him all this time, and for his "reward" Cortana returns as a human, and they live happily ever after
  3. Actually, before the Human-Forerunner war began, the Forerunners saw humanity as their greatest threat. The Didact was the Supreme Commander of the Forerunner military at this point, so it is possible that it is a quote from around this time.
  4. The game does state in the description for the Epilogue that Cortana is dead.....

    Cortana

I still believe she should return at some point in the game. I want Halo 6 to have either of 2 endings. 1. Master Chief finally dies after saving humanity AGAIN, but this time peace remains and everyone worships him as some kind of man-God for what he's done blah blah. 2. Master Chief reunites with Cortana (preferably as a human, but either or will do) and they live happily ever after.
  6. If you go on the epilogue on the mission select it says "....and with the death of Cortana". Although, 343 aren't going to have it say "....and with Cortana probably dead" are they? I, personally, think she will return.
  7. If Halo 5 is going to be the darkest, I hope Halo 6 will be a lot lighter, and have a happy ending
  8. Well I hope they bring Cortana back, it just wouldn't really be Halo without her tbh :/
  9. He was reminiscing about what Cortana said earlier to him, about which one of them was the machine. Obviously he was saying that as she had just "died".......
  10. Unlucky buddy :/ try contacting them a different way instead of through the forums; chances are, they won't see it.
  11. When I faced the Hunters, firstly on Requiem, I just allowed the sentinels to distract them and shot them where they were exposed from range. The second time on the Ivanoff Research Station orbiting Installation 03, I allowed the scientists to create a distraction, so whilst the Hunters were pummeling them to death, I again killed them from range. Best thing to do But I agree with the grunts (design for the jacals didn't really bother me too much). They seem to look a bit TOO different for me, plus why don't they make those cute little noises anymore?
  12. They're a splinter group of the Covenant known as the Storm Covenant. Basically, an independent group that somewhere down the line split off from the Prophets/Arbiter main group of the Covenant.
  13. But wasn't MC & the UNSC stopping the Covenant the other half of the plot to the original trilogy? Yet they still have made an appearance in this trilogy.......
  14. Halo wiki is not a reliable source imo. Although if it is.....then it says Cortana died in quotation marks e.g. her "death". Making me think she is still alive
  15. The only reason I think she'll return is because the game kinda drops a few hints that she will.....
  16. I would be VERY surprised if she doesn't return in one of the next 2 games. The game dropped massive hints (the don't make a girl a promise you can't keep.....the stuff the librarian said, the stuff about the composer etc.) that she will make a return in some way shape or form. I can see 5 being a more personal and dark affair for MC, maybe Didact returning and him seeking vengence or something? Then maybe Cortana appearing at the end of 5, or maybe possibly at the end of 6, as a human, as maybe a sort of "reward" by the librarian/forerunners for saving the galaxy? Idk, but she will be back.
  17. I really don't know where I stand with this. On one side, I think the death of Cortana is a good thing. Master Chief has always seemed to be a pretty emotionless and machine-like person, but with the death of Cortana, maybe it will help him to realise that he is more than that, maybe this new trilogy of games will focus on loss and discovering who you really are. But then again, I don't see how they can kill her off either. She's an important character to the series, and was instrumental to saving the galaxy along with MC. How would he have deactivated the Halo rings without her? And what if a similar situation arises in future games? From everything that I've read so far, I reckon she will come back either at the end of Halo 5 or the beginning of Halo 6, but not the way we all remembered her as.....
