  1. I agree with that animation of making your hand shake. I think also, since it can one-hit kill they should put a time limit on how long you can keep it charged for. Like, make it to where if you hold it for too long it'll over-heat and discharge prematurely. This would make it to where someone couldn't just sit there camping and would have to time it a lot better. Not to mention its ammunition should rapdily deplete while charged, you should get like only 2 charges out of one bolt shot, so you better make them count.
  2. But I haven't had any issues with lag, or at least nothing like you describe, there is the occasional... WTF with people blinking around but that's all connection. So, I'd say you're right.
  3. I'm still using a 1st generation (year 2006) XBOX 360. It doesn't even have an HDMI output. I didn't have enough room on my 20gig hard drive to install disc 1 anyway, and barely enough to install disc 2, lol. I've fixed the RRoD on this thing 2x, it has a new cooling fan and a new DVD-ROM drive. It's still chugging along, no sense in buying a new one now considering pre Christmas 2013 a new generation console could be out, if not then, then definitely pre-christmas 2014. 3D gaming is the future.
  4. I've been using bumper jumper since the days of Halo 3
  5. I don't know. I personally haven't encountered issues with the boltshot and I usually use 'firepower' and stack DMR/AR, but that's me. I do know you have to be REALLY close in order for it to one-hit kill you if you have a full shield. What are your suggestions to making the bolt shot better? Should it not be a one-hit kill? If not, what would it be and how would that make it any different from the the plasma pistol? Using promethean vision would defeat the purpose of camping as it gives away your location on the radar everytime you use it.
  6. The only weapon that is really noticeably different is the AR, which has beefed up damage. Other than that, the damage of the rest of the weapons is the same as it was in reach for the most part. I can still sprint away and avoid death like I did in Reach, I do it all the time. You've just gotta know when to cut'n'run. But yeah, overall you do die a bit quicker I guess, though thats not necessarily a bad thing. It's still far from CoD, one little spray of bullets and you die.
  7. The bolt shot isn't overpowered, period. Don't be a newbie and rush around and you won't get jumped. I've played 135 games an am an SR35 and I have yet to encounter a camper killing me with the boltshot. Does a different playing style attribute to this, I'd say so given I don't rush, hardly ever. Camping will never end in any FPS shooter. God I remember the days of Halo 3 on the map 'The Pit' and everyone camped back in those corner hallways, NE and NW side of the map with the shotty. If memory serves right the shotty popped in there on each side. I honestly don't think camping is as bad in Halo 4 as its been in previous Halos.
  8. Okay, I didn't read this past two words because it hurt my eyes. But all I'm gonna say is... Halo 4 is fine, leave it the way it is. It's the best Halo yet.
  9. First off, there is promethean vision which will allow you to see those "campers" lurking around corners. Second, I rarely rush around a corner unless I am certain it's clear anyway. I get into DMR battles ALL THE TIME. In fact, I have at least double the amount of kills with a DMR than I do my AR. Who sits in the corner throwing tons of grenades? The grenade damage in Halo 4 sucks compared to Reach. I've had no shield and had them go off literally a few feet away and not die. The game might have some features similar to CoD- it is a bit more fast-paced now with the upped damage of the AR and sprint, but it's definitely Halo, and precision still counts, big time. In your team DMR/BR, which is an idea I don't mind, include the light rifle in this as well as it's just as competent (maybe even more-so in the right hands) as the DMR/BR. I do agree that the DMR is superior to the BR. The BR has a slight edge in close range, about even with the DMR in mid, and in long range it's no question that the DMR is far superior. I'm not sure what could be done here to even the playing field though. I do think that since the BR does a 3round burst maybe it should have slightly higher damage? Too much though and it's OP. I don't know, it's a fine line here. As far as the other guns in the game? Well, all they've added is a new class of weapons, forerunner, and they're pretty even with UNSC and Covenant. No standard load-out weapons are overpowered, that's right, not even the bolt shot. The beauty of Halo 4 is individuality. Each weapon, AA, etc. has its pro's and con's. It allows you to tweak your play-style to suit how you like to play the game. It allows you to THINK and incorporate STRATEGY into your gameplay. Where as before, everyone ran at the same speed and shot the same gun and all it boiled down to was who got the jump, and had better hand-eye cooridination strafing while shooting. Now, while those are still valuable, you can setup a gameplan for different scenarios and game types and it's actually pretty cool. All the weapons and loadouts need to stay because this diversity is a good thing and there is a nice balance among all the standard weapons.
  10. That's not that bad. Your K/D is nearly even and you haven't even played that much. There is plenty of time for you to improve. When I first started my K/D wasn't stellar, it was about 50/50-ish, but as I got better it rapidly increased. Though I think the "true-skill" system has kicked in on me as my games continually get more challenging; maybe it's my gameplay but I've went from getting pretty consistent +10 k/d spreads to like +3-7 now. https://app.halowaypoint.com/en-us/Halo4/TransientHalo/wargames/
  11. If you're a headhunter the Carbine is really nice. It shoots so rapidly which makes it nice to use in team slayer as your teamate collapes the opponents shield with the AR and you get the kill with a quick headshot. The lightrifle is also pretty powerful, zoomed in it can kill an opponent in 4 hits (6 hits not zoomed in), DMR/BR do it in 5, Carbine in 7. The suppressor is the best close-range but the edge goes to the AR for better balance close to medium range. The DMR is sick as its reticle bloom is very shallow compared to Reach. Sniping does take skill, especially now since everyone has sprint. You have to lead your opponets when they're sprinting. There is a pretty even balance to all the weapons. They all have their pros and cons. At the end of the day it just boils down to preference and play-style. This is why I love the load-outs and variety of weapons. It allows each individual to customize how they want to play, to fit their playing style. It's really pretty awesome when you think about the variety and balance that gets all-encompassed into one. Halo 4 is the best Halo yet.
  12. Wow, calm down. I thought I was quite conservative there. I did make suggestions to try and help you in that i suggested playing an objective game like 'King of the Hill'. Seeing as there is no "practice" mode with AI Spartan bots, I figured you'd realize a fair compromise, but I guess you're obviously too stupid. In reality, this post should be flamed, trolled, and laughed at until you either delete it or throw your notebook across the room. The COD reference was in reply to some of the other replies in this thread. Seeing as you didn't mention COD, I figured you would have been smart enough to realize that I wasn't referencing you, but apparently you're the type in which the whole universe must revolve around you. This is a stupid question. They aren't going to f***ing change the game just because ONE person would like to have "spartan" AI bots to play against, which would be NOTHING like playing against a real human anyway, it would just be campaign mode with spartans. No Halo should ever have this anyway. You get in there determined to win, learn from your mistakes, improve and move on- that's how it goes. I don't see how AI spartans would help you? How is that any different from AI anything else? If anything, the campaign bots are harder for the most part, but they lack human intelligence and strategy. If you can't handle it, get out. If you aren't willing to compromise then this is the dumbest thread I've seen as it's completely pointless unless your goal is to be whiney and annoying.
  13. Listen kid, I don't want to be a troll but did you seriously just make a thread which basically says... "I suck, change the game so I can get better?" There is campaign, which will give you the basics of movement, targeting, etc. If you want Multiplayer practice then play some objective games, like King of the Hill. King of the hill everybody is going to ONE place, the hill, so it's easy to practice targeting, sniping, etc. I don't see how 343 could make a "practice multiplayer" because everybody plays differently. You can't expect them to account for the millions of different play styles which exist, lol- that's what campaign is for. Otherwise, be creative and develop your own style. I am a patient player so I like to stalk around using active camo. If there is anything to be said about Halo it's that "patience is a virtue" - don't rush, it's about the dumbest thing you can do. As far as load-outs go, well, the load-outs in Halo are for the most part pretty even. It's not like COD, because in COD you can spawn with a sniper and other weapons that would be considered a "power-weapon" in Halo. Imagine if you could pop with a sniper in Halo, GOD, that would ruin the game. I like being able to customize my AA, and weapon loadout. I mean, there are three different types of weapons that are all similar: UNSC, Covenant, Forerunner. Some may prefer one over another but they're all similar, regardless, making the playing field pretty even all the time. It's not COD, it's Halo, PERIOD.
  14. I like the idea of 1v1, my only fear would be if you start winning, especially dominating, the chances of your opponent backing out will be really high. Most people, I highly doubt, would have the integrity to stick-it-out with a more skilled opponent. Because of this alone I think it would probably fail, unfortunately.
  15. DMR Assault Rifle Sticky nades Active Camo FirePower Ammo This all depends on play style but I was using this setup last night in slayer and was getting consistent +10 k/d spreads for the 3 games I used it before going to bed. I'm a patient player though and don't mind sneaking around using active camo biding my time waiting for the perfect time to strike. It's also hilarious to assassinate or stick people as they run by you with active camo on.
  16. I still say Needler beats Saw at medium range and everybody has sprint now so if you're already at medium range vs. the saw just take off and duck for cover. I just tested the bolt shot and yeah it can kill from full health but like the previous person stated, you have to be REALLY close. If these weapons weren't like this, then what would they be then? The Binary rifle would't be different from the the UNSC sniper or the Covenant sniper. The bolt shot wouldn't be any different from the plasma pistol either. Forerunner weapons do have a slight edge if you use them properly. Just like the forerunner's 'light rifle' kills an opponent in 4 hits zoomed in versus 5 hits with the DMR/BR and 7 hits with the Carbine. And the forerunner suppressor can usually win out in close-combat versus the UNSC assault rifle, though I'd take the assult rifle for slightly better medium range effectiveness. I guess I can kind of see your point but these weapons aren't unfairly balanced, and like I said, they have to do something to differentiate them.
  17. Binary rifle has a small clip and when you zoom in it sends a red beam across the map so as everybody knows where you're at. The bolt shot is the forerunner equivalant to the plasma pistol and it won't kill you in one hit unless you're already weakened, but it will drop your shield. It's the new newbie combo of Halo 4. Saw is pretty cool but plenty of weapons beat it. Spartan shotty and scatter shot beat it in close quarters and the needler beats it in close to medium, especially medium. I actually hit a guy with the saw in close quarters and he threw up the new shield and then his teammate beat me down before I realized what was going on. Sounds like you just got pwnt and wanted to come on here and rant. None of the weapons are overpowered, chill.
  18. I will agree, some features to this game are similar to COD, BUT this is DEFINITELY HALO! Yes there are killcams, loadouts, etc., which I think add to the game. Every Halo that has come out has been an improvement over the last and this is no exception. Despite some COD'ish features, the essence of the game is HALO, period. I must admit, when I first started playing it and I wasn't used to the game mechanics I was thinking to myself... OMG this is f***ing MW3 -- but I kept playing it and as I played it more, I learned the beauty of the system. I started to realize just how wrong I was, and how this game felt like any other HALO I had every played. At first the game seemed much more fast-paced with the new-found power of the assault rifle and everybody having sprint. I started thinking that it's just like COD, you sprint around, spray some bullets, your opponet dies and you move on. But then I started figuring out how to manipulate the new game mechanics into strategy, and before I knew it, I was playing a new and improved Halo. This is a great game! The best Halo yet and I'm having a ton of fun with it. I'm a die-hard Halo fan, I played MW3 on my PS3 and didn't like it. Halo is the best FPS, period. Am I the only one here who actually liked Reach and thought it was a great game? The only bad thing about reach was armor lock because it was such a newbie skill, other than that, the rest of the game was pretty awesome. Reach was all about precision, head hunting, period. With good strategy owning in reach was pretty simple. And I loved Reach SWAT with the precision of the DMR, man that was fun. Magnum SWAT was pretty entertaining as well. I thought the armor abilities were a huge improvent over Halo 3, though the only one I mainly used was Sprint and occasionally active camo. Reach was great, magnum was over-powered but fun to snap off a clip of the magnum on someone sprinting at you with the sword and watch them collapse at your feet. I do think I like Halo 4 better than Reach though, and I REALLY liked Reach. I played Reach right up until Halo 4 came out. I can't wait until they have more playlists and maps on Halo 4. With Halo, perfection takes time, which is why a new Halo only comes out every few years, other than a new COD every 6 months.
  19. I just now did. Nice! I just joined this forum today, but hell yeah to SWAT. I gotta go check this out.
  20. I agree with you on this. Connection options would be great. I typically don't plug in a mic or play with others but I wouldn't be opposed to partying up with some competent people, switching on my mic, and actually working as a team. Speaking of this, if anyone wants to party up sometime send me a message.
  21. I really liked this paylist in Reach. I enjoyed its slower pace and it usually incorporated more strategy and heavy teamwork. It was pretty cool and a nice change of pace. I hope this gets added to Halo 4, as well as SWAT.
  22. I hate joining in-progress games. 9x out of 10 you get thrown onto a team that's getting their ass kicked. They should make this feature optional, to where you can toggle it on/off.
  23. I just now noticed this. I agree- I HATE THIS. 9x out of 10 you get put on a losing team. I wish they would add something to where you could choose or not choose to be put into the middle of a game. There may be some people who just want to join as quickly as possible and don't mind this. This should be optional or disabled.
  24. Hey, I just wanted to express my dissatisfaction with getting thrown into games that are already taking place. In my experience with this, 9x out of 10 I get put onto a losing team. I typically back out of playlists to escape sucky teamates who are getting like -20 k/d spread a game, only to be thrown back in with another losing team just as bad or worse. I would really like to start each game fresh and new. I do not like getting put into the middle of a game. I've been thrown into games to where there was less than 2 min. of game time left... I was like WTF?, then it says 'game over' and thats another 'lost game' on my record. I understand they're trying to make matchmaking faster and help out teams who lose players, but I just really dislike getting thrown into the middle of on-going games, that's just me. Vent here if you agree with me. If you disagree post why, thanks.
