Seriously guys. No attacking each other.
The Director replied to Elite's topic in General Discussion
This particular fight was actually a couple of people, who again will remain nameless, feeding a troll. As dedicated members they should have been here long enough to realize that it WAS in fact a troll, and that anything they said in reply would only feed the flames. However, for some reason or another they DIDN'T and it caused a good 20 minute ruckus in the shoutbox. And the members in question were STILL trying to flame the troll even after s/he left. It took a good berating by myself and a few other members to calm both of the "dedicated" members down, and one of them REALLY shouldn't have had to even be told. -
But why would you WANT a turret-less 'hog though? Aren't they generally more fun when they have a rear mounted death inspiring device?

Bring back "Pinnacle" and "Uncaged" in Team Swat!!!!
The Director replied to mikeyr's topic in Halo Reach
I've made it to Mythic off of Team SWAT, and Uncaged and Pinacle have always been my least favorite maps for SWAT. The reason being that both games are not only camp heavy, but the camping spots overlook spawn areas. SWAT is a one shot one kill variant, so it makes no sense to have spots that you don't really have any particular reason to move from overlooking spawn areas. Let me break this down for you. Uncaged: There are three main camping spots in this map. One at sniper spawn (AKA mancannon), one at healthpack elbow (the one overlooking the cage), and the cage. Sniper spawn overlooks tower spawn, healthpack elbow overlooks sniper spawn, tower spawn, mancannon landing spawn, and rocket spawn, and the cage overlooks tower spawn, the elbow, and mancannon spawn. The tower I am not counting as a camping spot because it's very easy to remove someone in that area from all three of the other areas and it only fits one person out of four. Blue team spawns in the immediate vicinity of two of these camping spots, and has no problem picking off red team as it tries to rush for the third. That means that blue team has the starting advantage right off the get-go. That means... yep you guessed it, unbalanced gameplay. Pinnacle: There are three main camping grounds on this map as well, which also overlook spawn points. There is sniper tower, two story tower, and banshee spawn. Sniper tower overlooks every spawn point on the map, two story tower overlooks banshee, sniper, and teleport receiver spawn points, and banshee spawn overlooks two story tower, teleport sender, and sniper tower spawns. On this map, red team spawns INSIDE a campground, and can pick off blue team as it tries to rush for the other camp grounds. Red team can literally just sit down and it has at least 3 spawn zones covered at the start of the game. Guess what? MORE unbalanced gameplay. If you get matched against people who have decent aim and are playing as a team, you will be lucky not to get steaked. VERY lucky. As in you have a guy who is probably using an aimbot on your team, and even he is going to get spawn-killed a few times. Don't get me wrong, my first perfection was on Pinnacle for the very same reasons I've listed for you. However it was in a match that I actually felt bad for my opponent because we were not letting them even take two steps out of their spawn. We don't need Uncaged and Pinnacle back, what we DO need is some new maps to play on.- 147 replies

Technical difficulties with saving maps and such...
The Director replied to Misterfish's topic in Game Help
With the exception of your "Recent Games" I don't think there is. My suggestion is to try to have fun doing it again. -
STOP trying to be something you're not, HALO 4
The Director replied to OITSTCIMurder's topic in Halo 4
I have to wholeheartedly disagree with you on this one. When they came out with the TU (Which made Reach more like Halo 3... actually almost exactly like Halo 3 but with AA's) people ranted and raged across bnet AND the Waypoint forum begging 343i to change it back. And I'm not talking onesies or twosies, I'm talking about mods having to lock threads every ten minutes because a new one was popping up saying "343i TU sux change it bakz pl0x". And when 343i tried to compromise by making it half Halo 3 half Halo Reach, EVEN MORE people complained about it, and it hadn't even been released yet! And look now, people are complaining about Halo 4 and it's still over half a year until it releases. They haven't even printed the publication yet, and people are already complaining. People complain just for the sake of complaining. You haven't even touched the game yet, and you are complaining. That means you are no different than they are. If Halo becomes COD, it will still be the best damned COD game you've ever even dreamed of playing. You are not psychic, you haven't traveled back in time, you DO NOT KNOW how Halo 4 is going to play, or whether or not it is going to be a good game. So, with all due respect, shut it. -
Welcome to the forum, don't worry, you will make LOT'S of friends here Especially if you stick around for the play dates ;D

Award you are looking forward to?
The Director replied to a live dinosaur's topic in General Discussion
Let's see, I want the Halo Award (given at random by Vitamin PWN, if I recall), the Youtube Award, the Twitter Award, The GSD Award (not sure how to get THAT one), 1k posts award, MoM Award, Forge Contest Award (Once I get back into the contests), Birthday Award, and I think that's about it. -
I WILL NEVER STOP HATING! >:| I am a very hateful man! lol All kidding aside though, I love what 343i has done so far, and will probably continue to love what they are going to do. People who spout off hate are usually just sheep trying to get more sheep to flock with them. More than once I've seen someone talking about "facts" about Reach that were completely inaccurate, stating that that was why they hated Reach. A for instance is "I hate it when it kicks you from the lobby when you don't have the DLC and everyone votes on the DLC", which in Reach is an impossible situation because of the way they rig it to where people without the DLC don't even get to see it in voting. There are always going to be idiots out there. My suggestion is to ignore them, because if you don't then very soon this site will become the new bnet forum... *shivers*

Well, Twam and Jester were talking about what to do with the Home button a while back, because so far there are three buttons that take you to the community index. However, since the community index pretty much IS the reason this site exists (i.e. home), ideas for the home button have been few and far between.

Your best bet would be to look for them online, just google search for "Halo Books" and a couple should pop up. Other than that... idk o.O

Yay! I got a shoutout! Congrats on 2k, hope to catch up to you eventually lol

The awkward moment when someone who has triple posted posts about a double post lol and I believe you'll find it's called a "bump" and I only did it once you negative nancy.

Props to for his thread on repairing and general knowledge of the problem known as Red Ring of Death, or Red Dot of Death. I haven't seen a thread on it, so let's talk avoidance. Here are some tips & tricks to avoid an X-Box 360 systems crash. Keep your X-Box horizontal: This may sound odd, but a lot of X-Box 360's have issues with "disc slip". This is when something jars the console and the game disc inside the console slides out of the tray inside the X-Box. This is most likely to happen with consoles that are vertical (up and down, like this | ) There is very little reason why one wouldn't have their console horizontal (like this _ ), but if for some reason or another you need your console to be vertical, take the disc out when the console is not in use. Ventilation: Keep your X-Box in an area where the vents can grab air. Putting your console on wood is your best bet here. Putting it on carpet or other fabrics is a bad idea, because fabric grabs dust which your console will then pull into itself, clogging it's vents. Putting your console on metal is also a bad idea because metal heats up rather quickly. If you are having problems with ventilation, try putting your X-Box on a laptop cooling fan (which you can usually get at Wal-Mart for around 5 USD). Also, make sure the power cord ventilation box is in an area that it won't overheat as well. Proper Cord Connection: If you have your cords connected loosely, then this can cause extreme wear and tear on your connectors and ports. Always double check that they are connected properly. Remember, "Tight is Right". This goes for both the power and the audio/video cords. Make sure that your power cord is properly connected to your X-Box AND to it's ventilation box. Take the Disc Out: Always remember to take your game disc out of the X-Box 360 console before moving the console. Leaving the disc in while moving your console is bad for both the disc and your console. If you move your X-Box with the disc inside of it, the disc could slip loose of the tray and mess up some innards. Proper Cleaning: The only thing you should use to clean your console is air and a dry rag/q-tip. Do NOT for ANY reason get your console wet. Except for the ports, you can clean those using a SMALL amount of white vinegar (thanks again to Private Church for pointing that out). To clean your console, remove any disc in the tray, unplug ALL cords, and use a can of air or blow into your vents, and use a rag or q-tip to dust the outside. Do not take your console apart unless you know how. Taking your console apart will void any warranty that you have, and could ruin your X-Box. Keep it Cool: Don't put your console in an area that it will have difficulty staying cool in (a sunny area, on top of other electronics, under a blanket, so on and so forth). Also be sure to take a break after a long period of gameplay to give your console time to cool down. Try not to leave your console on all day, or even when you are going to the store. Every time you do this, you are playing Russian Roulette with a RRoD or a RDoD as a bullet. Don't Hit the 360: Light taps are fine, but beating your X-Box is like beating your child. Sure, it may still be okay after a few beatings, but you run the risk of killing it. If you are having trouble with your disc tray, either clean it or bring your console to a professional to have them fix it. Well, that does it for this time. Remember, RRoD's and RDoD's can be a bit random. You can follow all of these instructions and still get one. If you DO get one, see the other thread in this forum, which is dedicated to repairing them. If you have further tips, post them here and I will edit them into this post.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NufHsmITjM The video is an elaborately made April fools day prank, but would you buy an Assassin's Creed motion sensitive game for Kinect or Wii? Yes, no, or maybe. Also, please include your why's and why not's below.
