I couldn't get past the first episode, but I'll take your word for it and try it out again.

I agree, these days players throw grenades before they even pop off any shots. And with Reach's jump height and slowed movement speed (not counting AAs), grenades are harder to avoid than ever. It took me a while to break out of the habit of jump crouching when someone tossed a grenade at me that I picked up in Halo 3. And it's annoying when your team tosses grenades instead of shooting, and ends up getting a bunch of betrayals. It's even more annoying when the entire opposing team doesn't even press right trigger. Most of the Slayer playlists are bothersome just for this reason alone. And btw, it's 50 times worse when there are grenade challenges.

Probably in Cryptum or Primordium. There are also 2 Arks! A greater and lesser.

Where ELSE would it go? lol Did you know that the Covenant Hierarchs prior to the covenant war with humanity were the prophets of Tolerance, Restraint, and the prophetess of Obligation?

I think they should go back to the ol' ranked and social categories, with slightly differing rules for each of them, so the MLG players have something to play, and the casual/fun gamers have something else to play. That way, if there are complaints about one category, they can change it without touching the other. I'd also like to point out that after they released the info on the TU everybody supported it, then they started incorporating it and that's when everyone started complaining about it. It seems to be one of those "looks better on paper" things.

A few weeks after Halo CE came out, one of my friends downloaded the PC version onto a flashdrive and installed it to his account at our highschool. In our computer tech class, on slow days, we would play multiplayer against each other. Even though the other guys were complete PC gamer nerds, I still won so much that one of my friends walked over and turned off my computer. Since then I was addicted. xD

The reason I don't like the grenade and jetpacking challenges is because I don't even have to check the challenges to know that those are in effect. When there are games where the entire lobby isn't even pulling right trigger, or has a jetpack, or both, then I know. Grenade spam is ALWAYS annoying, and jetpack abuse is too. Especially when I get stuck with teammates who just so happen to not know how to use either and end up losing the game because they were constantly suiciding or betraying. :/

You know what would also be cool? If your XBL Gold account came with an actual internet connection. That would run the cable companies out of business REALLY quickly. Most people have cable because they can get internet with it (myself included), and it wouldn't even have to be that much of a price hike if they worked with a company like clearwire or something similar. Maybe a charge for installation, and then just the monthly price of maintenance. It would be a bit of a price hike for a yearly XBLG account, but it wouldn't be unaffordable. And if they had a built in wireless modem INSIDE the X-Box and outgoing ports on the back, that might help with lag too! At first it would probably be a "Only available in so and so country", but after a while it could be worldwide!

Assassination Animations Dependent on Equipped Weapon
The Director replied to highplainsdrifter's topic in Halo 4
You obviously don't know what sci-fi means bro. Sci-fi is by very definition supposed to be realistic. It's supposed to be a fictional story based off of actual fact. I think the genre YOU are thinking of is "Fantasy" which has all sorts of nice and magical non-realistic things for you like unicorns, fairies, and talking rabbits. Sci-fi, on the other hand, is supposed to by a genre based on science and fact, which Halo has actually been pretty decent at so far. Everything that is in Halo (except Easter Eggs) is explainable, if you know most of the story line. If you don't want realism, don't play sci-fi.- 14 replies

can anyone explain how somethings work?
The Director replied to MajorPyscoPrime's topic in General Discussion
For the SWAT part of it, it's probably because the other player has a little lag, and is a bit to the left of where you actually see him, or it may be because sometimes the shot will hit the very top of the head and trigger the blood gush animation but not actually hit the head hit-box. Also, if you are aiming at him from behind, try aiming higher, because the shoulders can cover the head from the rear. The teams part, I feel you there. If it does that, it is usually because those players were in the same lobby in the previous game when you were joined with them, or vice versa. It tries to keep teams as teams as much as it can. I am a legend, and I once played 12 games in a row with three NCOs on my team the entire time, even with a non-partied team of nobles and higher on the other team. When selecting host, it usually picks the person with the best connection to the server and tries to go from there, if I recall correctly. I think Twinreaper can probably explain it a bit better. The betrayal system is a bit broken, and I'm not sure why. I've had people betray me 3 times in a row with no option to boot, and I've had a person betray me once with an option to boot. It's frustrating sometimes, but it doesn't happen often enough to be a problem for me (except in certain gametypes). -
Power for the suit to maintain basic functions. Did you know that the first contact a Huragok (engineer) had with a human the Huragok killed the human?

Ah, you are right. I mixed up a story in Legends with one in Evolutions, my mistake. OP is edited.

A Detailed Analysis of Halo: Reach (TL;DR and Cookies Inside!)
The Director replied to Wumpa Warrior's topic in Halo Reach
I myself have never been a big vehicle driver, but I've seen tanks taken down with SAF on Halo Reach. Try to do that in real life. No, really, I dare you. It doesn't matter how many 7.62 bullets you fire into a tank, the thing is just going to laugh at you while it slowly rotates it's canon in your direction. I realize that "It's a game, it's not REAL" and blah blah, but most people who argue that forget that this is a SCIENCE FICTION game. That means that it is supposed to have roots in real life. In Halo 3, when the mood struck me, I would get in the tank and automatically get a killing spree. Whenever an opponent got into a tank, I would pick up a power weapon and drop them. Maybe I'm just good at taking out vehicles, maybe I'm just normal, but I've never had a problem with the enemy team grabbing vics in Halo 3. This doesn't even begin to mention the fact that the covenant vehicles are now (for some reason or other) superior to the human vehicles. For instance, I've seen a banshee take two direct hits from a scorpion before it blew up (I even jacked the kill with my sniper), the wraith can take up to three shots from the scorpion, while the scorpion can take two from the wraith, the banshee's unlimited dodge makes it to where a skilled flier can use it throughout the entire match while the falcon can literally be shot down with SAF. The hypothesis that covenant vehicles are superior in multiplayer is supported by the fact that in most maps the only human vehicles available are the warthog and mongoose. As far as the OP goes, well thought out and well worded. The DMR is not hit-scan, but does have a ridiculous range when compared to the "future" models. Still, props are given, and thanks for the cookie! -
Warning, the following thread may contain spoilers. Proceed at your own risk. This thread is for interesting little tid-bits about the Halo Universe. Sometimes trivia can be a lot of fun, so I figured a thread discussing and revealing trivia would be even more fun. Here is an example of a did you know: Did you know that Staff Sergeant Avery Johnson was the first human being to fire on the covenant? If you have a few of these, go ahead and post multiple. If you see one that you dispute, go ahead and quote it and state the reason you don't believe it's true, as well as some evidence supporting your argument. Trivia should be gleamed from the books or the games. Also, please note that parts of Halo Legends are considered fan-fic, not canon. And remember, keep it clean, not mean.

There are THOUSANDS of ways that the storyline can continue and still be pretty interesting. If they do decide to pick one (as long as it's an interesting one) then I will support them full steam ahead. lmao or maybe be playing WITH them xD

Assassination Animations Dependent on Equipped Weapon
The Director replied to highplainsdrifter's topic in Halo 4
For the most part they should be done with a knife (imo) because it will keep the times even. However, I would like to see an animation for the flag, gravhammer, and the oddball/bomb as well because they are also melee weapons. Just as long as all the times are the same, I see no problem with it. It shouldn't include projectile weapons unless it's melee only though.- 14 replies

Heeeeeyyyyy! I remember this map! Sniping is really fun on this map lol That Falcon plan we had didn't work out too well either, did it? xD
-
It's not an issue for assassinations because during the entire assassination mini-cinematic you are vulnerable to attack, and cannot attack back. However, for armor lock, you are invulnerable. So it should be changed a bit for AL, but changing it for assassination will just hinder the person getting the assassination even more. And if you are one of those who go for beat-downs and want it changed because you hate assassinations, just imagine what will happen if you accidentally get into an assassination. Now you will be completely vulnerable to being killed upon exiting it instead of being able to aim at an opponent immediately after exiting it.
