You mean Mk. VII? Because I think he is past the Mk. III already...

343 give us something. Your game comes out this year.
The Director replied to InsaneBear's topic in Halo 4
It will be coming out Holiday 2012, and there have been rumors about a preview in a couple months. I think the reason they aren't showing us anything is to build suspense. Expect a HUGE ad campaign closer to it's release though. -
Welcome to the forum.

It was about 1 hour for first one, about 45 minutes for CEA, and another hour for Halo 3.

My previous name "AAN2" was based off my gamertag. Now, it's based off of Red vs. Blue.

These are the achievements for Halo 3. All games have campaign achievements that are easiest to complete by beating the game on Legendary difficulty. Some of them require you to play cooperatively with other people. These are easy to complete, so will not be included in the post, as they are self explanatory. This game has achievements for collecting skulls throughout the campaign. For help with these achievements, please go to youtube and search "Halo 3 Skulls" for a walkthrough. 1. Graduate: Earn 5 exp or complete 5 games in Multiplayer Matchmaking. 2. UNSC Spartan: Reach the rank of Spartan in Multiplayer Matchmaking. 3. Spartan Officer: Reach the rank of an Officer in Multiplayer Matchmaking. (you have to win games to gain exp to rank up) 4. Two for One: Get a double kill with a spartan laser or missle pod in Multiplayer Matchmaking. 5. Triple Kill and Overkill: Get an overkill (kill 4 enemies within 4 seconds of each other) and you will get both of these achievements. 6. Lee R Wilson Memorial: Get 5 grenade sticks in a ranked playlist. 7. We're in for some Chop: Destroy an enemy vehicle with equipment. Campaign or a ranked playlist. Landmines work wonders here. 8. Killing Frenzy: Earn a killing frenzy in a ranked Free For All playlist. 9. Steppin' Razor: Get a triple kill with a sword in a ranked FFA playlist. 10. Mongoose Mowdown: Splatter an enemy with a mongoose in a ranked FFA playlist. 11. Up Close and Personal: Kill 5 enemies with melee attacks in a ranked FFA playlist. 12. Fear the Pink Mist: Kill 5 enemies with a needler in a ranked FFA Playlist or in campaign. 13. Headshot Honcho: Kill 10 enemies with headshots in a ranked FFA playlist or in campaign. 14. Used Car Salesman: Destroy a vehicle that has three enemies in it in a FFA playlist or in campaign. 15. Marathon Man: Locate and access all of the terminals in Campaign. 16. MVP: Earn MVP in any ranked playlist. 17. Guerilla: Earn 15k points in the first mission. 18. Demon: Earn 15k points in the second mission. 19. Cavalier: Earn 15k points in the third mission. 20. Askar: Earn 15k points in the fourth mission. 21. Exterminator: Earn 15k points in the fifth mission. 22. Ranger: Earn 50k points in the sixth mission. 23. Leaving for a bit...not that I'll be missed.
The Director replied to Twinreaper's topic in Introductions
I will miss our long winded arguments that never really go anywhere Twinreaper. -
The way to play some of the title update material is to play Squad Slayer. You won't find it in Team Slayer. Just a heads up.

How To Love - Lil' Wayne

Okay, the ones I still need are: 1. Halo: Contact Harvest 2. Halo: The Cole Protocol 3. Halo: Cryptum 4. The Halo Graphic Novel 5. Halo: Uprising (paperback) 6. Halo Wars: Genesis according to that list. I also need the newest forerunner book, which recently came out. If anyone has them downloadable or in .wps format, please help.

I love assassinations, as do many of my friends on XBL. If there were an option to turn off your ability to do an assassination (so that you wouldn't ever accidentally trigger one, and would instead get a beat down) then why not include it in Halo 4? There is no reason not to. And yes, Master Chief DOES have a combat knife. Here's a selection from the book "Fall of Reach". This is in both the original and the rewrite, mind you. CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO 2010 Hours, July 18, 2552 (Military Calendar) / Sigma Octanus IV, Côte d’Azur "The clatter of alien hooves on marble echoed behind a door to their right. The Spartans melted into the shadows. The Master Chief crouched behind a crate and unsheathed his combat knife." There are a few other instances in the books where Chief uses his knife, so it isn't against canon to have assassinations with a knife in Halo 4. If the option to turn them off were included, then the only reason that someone would not want them in is because that someone gets assassinated a lot. Also, assassinations have nothing to do with Halo being competitive. What an assassination is is like a football player spiking the ball and dancing after a touchdown. That's it.

They did? WHY DIDN'T ANYBODY TELL ME?!?!?!?!

First off, Living Dead is better now because you can't camp out of reach and rack up score. You actually have to play. Secondly, Arena was ALWAYS broken, 343i didn't break it much more than it always has been. Third, the maps are good and have been rated good by people a lot more qualified to make that decision than you. Finally, don't come here to complain about how Reach is "bad". This forum is for constructive criticism and new ideas. We don't want to hear you gripe and moan about how "this game sucks cause I can't get kills on Living Dead anymore cause I'm a camper and you can't do that anymore." We would rather hear things like, "I do not like the Title Update because (insert a good reason here)." Quit wasting everyone's time with your horrible spelling, grammar, and lame posts. Go take an English class, come up with a reason you don't like the new changes other than "they suck, they are broken", and then come back and try again.

Post your gamer tag The Official "Why Am I Banned Thread".
The Director replied to Absolute Dog's topic in Halo Reach
I agree with you. That said, here are some tips to avoid more bans in future situations. 1. Play custom games with your wife and kids, and try to make friends (ones that you trust who are better at the game than you) and play with them in a custom game as well. This will allow your wife and children to learn and get better at the game, without incurring the wrath of the banhammer. 2. Have them play through the campaign (single or cooperatively). This will give them more of a feel for the gameplay. Have them do it once on easy, and move up a difficulty until they can do it on Heroic. If they can beat the campaign on Heroic, then they will definitely be able to get at least one or two kills in matchmaking. 3. Do not underestimate the power of playing firefight. The covenant will teach them to aim for heads, as well as how to drop an enemies shield. Do 2 and 3 in the main menu, rather than in matchmaking to avoid the banhammer if they have a bit of a fail. Also, if you see them do something that is a large, yet funny, fail, be sure to save a clip of it in the theater and upload it to your fileshare and share it with the rest of us -
Poll Ban Fails-Legitimate concerns on banning.
The Director replied to Absolute Dog's topic in Halo Reach
There really should be a legitimate appeals system. Perhaps a group at Microsoft or 343i that's dedicating to the appeals. There should also be a forewarning, rather than an auto-ban. Possibly a three strike system that includes a message as to why and how long the ban (if it comes to that) will be. Then, the computer saves the data, including video, as it's "evidence" of the player cheating, and if the player appeals, then the group members can access this data and determine whether or not said player was or wasn't cheating. If it is determined that the player was cheating, then the ban would be increased (a warning of this will be in the message mentioned earlier) to prevent people constantly appealing their case just to annoy the group members, and if the player wasn't cheating, then a removal of the ban. -
The "Official" What do you want in the Halo 4 Ranking system.
The Director replied to Herodanny's topic in Halo 4
Here is my idea for a ranking system for Halo 4 Multiplayer Matchmaking: Have five playlist categories: 1. Cooperative; Includes cooperative gametypes (firefight, coop campaign) 2. Community; Includes the "fun" gametypes, such as Griffball, Action Sack, Swatguns, Custom Games Playlist (hoping for it), but no MLG (getting to that) 3. Competitive; Includes gametypes such as Team Slayer, FFA, SWAT, and others. 4. Ranked; Includes all gametypes with the exception of those in community and cooperative, and has the MLG playlist. 5. DLC; DLC only playlists, ones that require certain DLC to play, and one that requires all of them to play. Now, the militaristic ranks should be like in Reach, where you earn credits, rank up, and unlock armor (or whatever customizable items there are). The w/l rank ups don't work very well, especially for players who get matched with bad teammates. Now, there should be a 1-50 rank system, or better yet a 1-100, and it should be based off of k/d or BPR (this will require a more strict banhammer, to prevent boosting, but it's doable). You get matched with people who are of a similar numerical rank to you. The higher the rank you are matched with, the more credits you get per kill of that person. For instance, if you were a 50 and your opponents were 50's, you would get less credits than if you were a 100 and your opponents were 100's. If you get 0 kills, you get 0 credits at the end of the match. Deaths also negatively impact your credits as well. Something like .05% of total credits per death, or maybe higher. The only playlist category that numerical ranks will be featured in is Ranked. Other playlists will offer less credits, but will still give you credits so you aren't forced to play the Ranked playlist. That's all I can think of right now, but I think this way is best because: 1. It will make people who like the current rank system happy, but will also give MLG back their precious numbers. 2. It will make afking obsolete. 3. People will still be able to get customizable armor, for those that want it. 4. Halo will become more competitive again, while still having newb friendly fun for those who just want to play (depending on the game settings, of course). If you would like to expand on this idea, feel free to. -
Let's hear some of the funniest hate mail you have gotten. Remember to explain the circumstances and to edit swears, like so: "F***ing ***hole!" and such. I will share some of mine after a couple people share some of theirs.
