Well hello to you too!

Welcome to the 343i forum

Welcome! And just remember, leave the trolling on bungie's forums. :3

I think it's cute how people think that a company as large as Microsoft actually even READ filed reports. xD Basically here is what happens. A report is filed. The automated system that Microsoft has in place notes this report. If there are enough similar reports, the system takes action with either a ban, warning, or making someone change their gamertag. No one actually READS the reports, because there are simply too many made on a daily basis. So Vincent, all you have to do is ask your friends to report your g-tag, or if you don't have friends, make some, and then get THEM to report your gtag.

I just want achievements for Halo 2... :3

I check it every time I get on lol Only because I want to see what people capture me doing xD

It makes me feel old to say this, but I miss the days of picking up a Plasma Pistol and an SMG and just ruining peoples days. Since I'm more of a SWAT player anyways, I also liked the PP/Pistol combo, since then shields would not save people from my deadly ability to put a hunk of lead into someone's skull. Dual wielding Needlers was also awesome, and it wasn't like you automatically became a God with two weapons. You still got killed by players that were better than you, or were lucky. And it's not like there weren't drawbacks. You lost the ability to melee in a moments notice, and to throw grenades as well. As far as adding MORE drawbacks to it, all I have to say is that a Spartan is almost more machine than man, it is implausible that a Spartan would have ANY of the same weaknesses as a normal human being. Mjolnir armor adds to their "regular" abilities (which are far superior to ANY normal soldier) as well. The Spartan II's and III's are the closest that any human being has ever been to a walking tank. It makes no sense at all for them to feel ANY recoil from anything short of a .50 cal. Unless John's armor were extremely degraded, the effect of him holding a rifle or pistol should be the same effect as putting the same rifle or pistol into a vice. To move away from Canon and whatnot, why the HELL would you want ANY weapon to be less accurate? If you make a weapon less accurate, that detracts from the skill it takes to actually AIM the damned thing. Halo has never been a game of pure skill, but it definitely used to be harder to get a killing spree when the bullets actually went where you pointed them rather then the new "it might go here" system they have in Reach. It used to be that COD and similar titles took things from Halo to make THEIR games better. Adding bloom and decreasing accuracy just makes Halo more like COD and similar titles. What's next? Shaky sniper scopes and holding your breath to take a shot? If you don't like Halo the way it's meant to be, then go play a different game, rather than trying to make Halo into that game. Halo makes so much money anyways that it sure won't miss you at all. /rant

Halo Reach Matchmaking Multiplayer Strategies
The Director replied to The Director's topic in Halo Reach
Well the reason I posted it was because I use it to pretty good effect lol I can't tell you how many times I've gotten a double or triple after an assassination, but I can tell you that I've gotten quite a few. And if I didn't say it in the actual post, I meant that strategy is to be used in SWAT, where it's basically one shot per kill. Although I've done it in Slayer too, it's easier in SWAT. -
I would like to see Halo 2 with bigger and better graphics, as well as achievements. Halo 2 was my favorite campaign out of the Halo games, because it had some darn good one liners. Halo 3 already has pretty decent graphics, and achievements, so why does it need a remake? o.o
-
Alright, this is the official topic to discuss various Matchmaking strategies that work for you. 1. My favorite is the "go a different way" strategy. This works excellent in SWAT, most of the time. It's also rather simple. Just go a way your teammates are not. This will do one of two things. It will either lead you to a pretty decent kill or two because it will surprise the enemy, or it will keep the enemy from getting an overkill extermination if he is waiting for your team. For Slayer though never go out alone. Always come in a battle with a Partner or 2 or 3 or 4. 2. Get out of the spawns. It doesn't matter if you think you can get the guy camping your spawn, you are screwing your team by hanging around a spotted spawn point. You need to get to another area, and fast, to prevent your team from becoming a pile of bodies. This is where sprint works wonders. 3. Get to the enemies side of the map. This may sound brain dead, but that is the goal of war you know. You have to take the enemies area. If you are against spawn killing, then don't spawn kill. But if you are on their side of the map, they have to chase you around their side rather than just pushing into your spawn. And I guarantee that your enemies don't have such reservations against spawn killing. 4. Have fun with your kills. Do whatever it takes to make the killing more fun for you, so you do not get bored. 5. When you run out of ammo for you AR, switch to the pistol and unload it into your enemy. Going for the pummel usually leads to death for both of you. 6. If you are not good with a power weapon such as the sniper rifle, that doesn't mean you shouldn't grab it to keep the other team from having it. 7. It's always a good idea to take a look behind you every once in a while. 8. If you are dying a lot, and not getting many kills, then you should camp and let your teammates boost the score up. We all have off games, but that doesn't mean we have to be bricks in a backpack 9. With the AR, Spraying and Praying is usually only effective when you are either just out of melee range, or your opponents shields are popped. It doesn't actually take all that many bullets from an AR to kill something. Remember, burst breathe burst. This keeps your bloom down and allows you to pop shields faster and with less ammo. Once that shield is gone though, unleash hell in the form of a wall of lead 10. If you are a social gamer, and have a mike plugged in, give callouts. These can be as simple as "On my X" which means "on my dead body which you can see where it is because of the giant red X above it where my Tag used to be", or complex like "Three in blue shotgun". It makes quite the difference when you know where an enemy is, rather than just running in blindly. 11. Pay attention to your teammates waypoints. Red is dead, yellow is firing, orange is taking damage. If they aren't in a completely open area, and are orange, then you should get to them because that means at least one enemy is there. 12. Don't throw random grenades near your teammates. The grenades in Reach usually go off rather quickly, so it's hard to warn your teammate that you just threw one near him in time for him to move away from it. And getting booted because of a few accidents is never fun. 13. Try not to teabag. I know, it's hard for some of you, but there are people who play for fun who suddenly turn MLG once they are teabagged. If you want to win a game, or even maintain a positive k/d ratio without being embarrassed, keep your sac to yourself. 14. If you are better at being a lone wolf, then by all means be one. That shouldn't stop you from giving call-outs on enemies that you can see but can't currently kill, to help your teammates out a bit. 15. Don't quit out of games just because you aren't doing well. That will get you a quit ban. 16. The name of the area you are in on the map appears at the lower left of your screen, underneath and to the right of your motion tracker. It doesn't hurt to memorize the names of key locations. And now here is a map by map strategy guide (note, more maps will be included later) Maps on Disc: 1. Countdown: Depending on your playlist, your first priority should be the sword and the shotgun. Have one teammate sprint from spawn up the grav lift to the sword, and one down the triple lift to the shotgun. Once they have those, have them maintain position on the top floor. Your other teammates should grab DMRs and try to maintain the middle level. Don't forget about the concussion rifle though. After you grab your DMR you should trade out your AR for the concussion rifle and proceed to dominate. 2. Sword Base: Arguably the two most important areas to control on this map is the break room and the top of red lift leading to high bridge. Have one of your teammates immediately go for the shotgun (underneath the stairs leading to high bridge) and another one camp yellow lift until the shotgun is grabbed. If you are blue team, the go for the sword instead. It should be to the right of your spawn. Once the sword or shotgun is grabbed, have that teammate make their way to yellow lift. The easiest ways to get kills with those two weapons is yellow lift. Yellow lift is also a "turning point" part of the map. If yellow lift is controlled, it will make the opposing teams life miserable for the game. There is a grenade launcher on the bottom of the map, in between red lift and yellow lift back stairs. It should be between two pillars holding lower ramp. There is also a sniper located at the top of red lift. If you have a teammate with the shotgun and another with the sword, then one should be in yellow lift and the other in the area at the top of red lift. 3. Pinnacle: The first thing that should be done if you are blue team is to jump down to landing pad and go through the teleporter and collect the shotgun that's up the ramp. The rest of your team should head to sniper tower, and collect the sniper from the landing below. Walk down the ramp, do NOT jump from that landing unless you know what you are doing. The first thing you should go for on red team is the rockets. These will help against the shotgun, because it's in an enclosed area. There are a lot of hot points on this map, but the most active are the two towers and center (where the rockets spawn). If you can properly defend these areas, then you should have no problem with winning the game. 4. Boardwalk: In Boardwalk, blue team has the advantage as far as the closeness of the sniper and shotgun goes, however red team spawns with the high ground. Don't trade your pistol for the shotgun, because usually the beginning of the game is mid to long range combat. It quickly becomes CQC when the spawns start switching up, however, so the shotgun is a decent weapon to grab on this map. The most common hot-zones are the visitors center and the sky-bridge. There are a lot of little hiding spots on this map, so keep an eye on the areas with trees. The easiest places to die are the stairs to the visitors center and the stairs next to red spawn to the sky-bridge, so unless you have a one shot weapon, don't hang around these areas. Both the rocket launcher and a plasma launcher spawn in the service tunnels, the rockets underneath sky-bridge and the plasma launcher underneath the hole in the middle of the map. 5. Powerhouse: This map is characterized by it's CQC. It has quite a few rooms and hallways in which CQC comes into play. There is, however, a decent amount of mid to long range combat as well. The only weapons considered long range are the Focus Rifle (shoop-da-whoop) and the rocket launcher. The rocket launcher is located in the spillway, which is the area of the map where the water is pouring out of a grated pipe. There are two bridges leading into the power house. The rockets are under those bridges. The gravity hammer is located in the building known as the shed. It has a little window and a med pack, and is fairly close to blue spawn. The hot spots on this map are usually inside the powerhouse and the dirt path outside of the green residence. The shotgun is located next to the massive gate on blue team's side of the map. The best place to be is either in the green residence or the powerhouse with a CQC weapon. There are DMRs spread out all over the map, so picking up one is wise as well. 6. Reflection: The blue team has the advantage at the beginning of the game because they spawn just a few feet from the sword, and can usually get to the sniper (top floor of the metal lift) faster than the red team. The red team's saving grace is their proximity to the rockets, which are located in the Zen Garden, leaning against a little waterfall. The shotgun is located on the grass ramp, next to two sets of binoculars. The obvious hotzones here are the upper and lower hallways. Be careful when holding a CQC weapon and wandering into these areas, because you may come under fire rather quickly. The jetpack is really effective on this map, because it allows you to traverse all of the levels without having to walk through certain choke-points. Alright, that's all I got. If you have more strategies, post em. If not, then comment on how well the ones you've used worked so that those who post them can adjust them And remember, Adapt or Die.

From my understanding, you have a better chance of being abducted by Ninjas who want you to teach them your epic Halo ninja techniques than becoming a mod. But then again, the Ninjas are everywhere, so who is to say what those odds are.

Thank you everyone I will do my best to keep all of my future posts filled with info and humor

SWAT Stockpile* lol and let's see... 1. Campaign achievements, easiest ones to do. You can get all of them in one play through by playing on Legendary alone. Legendary is easiest if you do not rush the enemies, instead stay back and pick them off, and avoid the enemies wherever possible. 2. Rank achievements, such as The Start of Something or An Honor Serving are given when you reach the ranks of Cpl and Cpt, easiest way to get rank is to play firefight Score Attack. 3. The Firefight achievements (Firestarter, etc.) can be received in "custom firefight", not just firefight matchmaking. To be able to get all of these in one go, search the gametype "Easy 1 million Firefight" or somesuch in your file browser. 4. Crowd Control can be earned rather easily in the above mentioned gametype, or you can hope for the best playing Rockets. 5. They've Always Been Faster can be done easily by avoiding as many enemies as possible by backtracking and sprinting a lot. 6. A Spoonfull of Blamite can be done by utilizing the needler frequently in Campaign or firefight. 7. Two Corpses One Grave can be done by trail and error, and reloading the checkpoint right before the wraiths appear if you fail to get them both. 8. Game Set Match can be done by adjusting firefight settings so that you are invincible and playing a set on legendary. 9. Keeping it Clean is easiest to do by pummeling the Moa (ostrich looking birds) on the first mission so that you do not waste your ammo. 10. I Didn't Train to be a Pilot is one of the easier ones, just destroy everything you see on the 8th mission. 11. Swap Meet, trade a weapon with an AI ally. You can't trade with the spartans, so trade with the marines instead. You can always trade back, so don't be shy. 12. Make it Drizzle, buy something. Quit being stingy. 13. Doctor Doctor, use a medpac to heal. 14. An Elegant Weapon is easiest to do on Gruntpacolypse. 15. That's A Knife, you get this by holding down the melee button while behind an enemy to trigger the assassination mini cinematic. 16. I See You Favor A .45 play Gruntpacolypse and use the pistol instead of the DMR. 17. Your Heresy Will Stay Your Feet, kill that Magenta colored jerk on the 5th mission. It comes right after you hit the building complexes after crossing the bridge. 18. Be My Wingman Anytime, play Invasion and instead of rushing in, hang back and be your teammates spawn point five times. 19. Knife to a Gun Fight, kill five people while being an elite during an Invasion game. 20. Yes Sensei, get the first strike (first kill) during a matchmaking game. Don't be shy, rush in and touch someone with your bullets of friendliness. 21. What's a Killing Spree? Well, it's five kills without dying in a matchmaking game. If you have trouble with this one, find a good place to camp and pick people off one by one until you get five. 22. A Storage Solution and Cool File Bro are easy. Upload something to your file share and recommend it. 23. Lucky Me, get a rocket launcher while you have a jetpack and kill a group of three people with one brilliant ball of flame and shrapnel. 24. A New Challenger, easy to do on Thursday (all firefight challenges). Just play firefight for a while and you will get it. 25. Lemme Upgrade Ya, advance a commendation to it's silver state. Easy enough, just favor one type of weapon. Or, just play a lot of Team SWAT. 26. One Down 51 to Go, do a weekly challenge. Most of them are a pain, so if you are lazy just check them every week and wait for an easy one. 27. Make It Rain, Buy something from the armory that requires the rank of Lt. Colonel. Easy enough. 28. Banshees, fast and low. Easiest to do on Glacier or The Spire missions. Just get to a high spot, grab their attention with a few potshots, then jetpack close enough to jack em. The plasma pistol is harder to do, because they like the flips, and you run a risk of being splattered. 29. If They Came To Hear Me Beg. THIS one is a matter of luck vs skill. If you luck out, you can do it in Multiplayer Matchmaking or a Custom Game from the Spire. The campaign one is more complicated. It's on the Pillar of Autumn mission, right towards the beginning. There is a cliff, with an Elite at the bottom. You must sprint over this cliff and assassinate the elite. Be warned, the elite will sometimes move out of range while you are in midair, or you may land on his head. Also, sometimes the grunts will wander into the way of your epic ninja powers and screw things up for you. I swear, the show Fails of the Weak can be based on JUST people trying for this achievement. 30. Both Barrels, Double Kill, shotgun, Multiplayer Matchmaking. Enough said. 31. Tank Beats Everything. Tell that to the horde of vehicles on mission 8. You get this achievement for completing the mission with the tank intact. In other words, use the tank on a "needed" basis. 32. You Ate All The Chips, capture all of the flags on a stockpile game. You do not have to do it yourself, your team can help you. Just get them all to the capture point. It's easy. 33. Cross Mappin, easiest to do on a very large map, you get a kill with a DMR at a long, long range. 34. Skunked, play enough Invasion, and you will get this one. All you have to do is win a match in the first phase. You have to be an Elite for this achievement. 35. Totally Worth It, from the grave double kills can be done easiest with grenades. So, if you are low on health, spam the grenade button. 36. Offensive Driver, earn a kill in rocket race. This is on the multiteam playlist. 37. Poppin & Lockin, Destroy a vehicle with armor lock. If it starts to boost at you, armor lock. If it hits you JUUUUST right, it will explode and you will hear a lovely little chime 38. Return To Sender, return two flags in a MM CTF game. Kill the enemy flag carrier and sit down on the flag to return it. Do this twice, and you get the GP. 39. Crackin' Skulls, Kill three people with the oddball in one game. Simple. Get close and melee them. 40. Candy From a Baby, take two flags from an enemy scorezone in stockpile and put them in your own. 41. You Blew it Up, blow up the research facility on Breakpoint. 42. License To Kill: Run over 5 people with a vehicle in Matchmaking. Ghost on a playlist without armorlock is your best bet. 43. Dive Bomber: Preform a beat down on an enemy while using the jetpack in matchmaking. Get behind a player and jetpack a bit and press the melee button (don't hold it down or it will assassinate them instead). 44. Top Shot: Get 3 headshot kills in a row in matchmaking. The best playlist for this is Team SWAT. It's not possible to do this in Living Dead. 45. From Hell's Heart: Get stuck and kill an enemy with their own grenade in Matchmaking. Get close to someone after they stick you. 46. Stick It To The Man: Stick a flag carrier on a CTF Matchmade game. 47. Bounty Hunter: Capture 10 skulls at one in a headhunter matchmade game. 48. Emergency Room: Infect 3 players in one round on a matchmaking Infection game. 49. Paper Beats Rock: Assassinate a player that has just exited armor lock in a matchmade game. This may require some teamwork. Have your teammate on one end and be on the other, just a little farther away from your teammate so the guy in armor lock will go after your teammate. 50. All Alone: Get a Last Man Standing medal in a matchmade infection game. 51. Don't Touch That: Prevent the attacking team from touching the flag in a matchmade 1-flag ctf game. POST EDITED TO INCLUDE ANNIVERSARY ACHIEVEMENTS. Some of the achievements in the previous post require downloading the DLC for Halo Reach. Well, that covers just about all of them. If you have questions, post them.

I have been trusted for a month or two, but just realized that I never actually said hello... So, hello random people on 343i forum! I've decided that I'm done with Bungie's forum because the vast majority of the population there are either BKs or Trolls, and there seem to be hardly any here, so I shall reside here henceforth

Well actually, in Halo 3 the humans and the "Elites" had joined forces, and it even showed a scene where The Arbiter and Sgt. Johnson were trading weapons. So it only figures that humans now possess covenant weaponry, and the "Elites" possess human weaponry. It would raise my eyebrow if there WEREN'T any covie weapons on the frigate lol and I would like the BR back as well, but I don't really mind the DMR. The BR takes skill, but so does the DMR. If you are good with a DMR, then a newb won't be able to touch you, even if they spam theirs like crazy. It's a 5 shot weapon (with shields) and has 15 rounds per magazine. You should be able to get at least 3 kill without having to reload, and if you don't then it's because you are spamming and don't know how to crouch to lessen bloom (btw jump crouching also lessens bloom). The DMR isn't hard to use, but it's not nearly as simple as the AR.
-
Ah yes, but to make it fit with Canon, perhaps H4 should have H3 weapons and some new ones, and then they can make it fit so that H5 has new, better weapons
-
I was recently watching an old episode of News Radio on Netflix, and saw something surprising. There is a company that helped with the show in some way or another, with a red font with a black background as their figurehead. This company is named 343 incorporated. I was wondering, does anyone know if 343 inc became 343i? o.o
-
Yes, you are right. My bad xD However, in my defense, it DID replace the Beam Rifle as the covenant sniper weapon. Even though it was easier to use it as a shotgun lol
-
Thank you
-
In my own opinion, the weapons in Halo 4 should be the same as Halo 3, with a few additions. The following weapons from Reach would violate cannon (because the justification for them were that they were "devolved"), and make me personally go "whaaa?". The DMR, the Reach pistol, the beam rifle (shoopdawhoop), or any other weapon that I missed that are "devolved" from Halo 3 weapons. I wouldn't mind seeing some additions to the arsenal, as long as these subtractions are made. The weapons that disappeared from Halo 3 that I would like back are the Battle Rifle, the Halo 3 Beam Rifle, the SMG, incendiary grenades, and the pistol. Sure the pistol lacked power, but at least it was accurate. I didn't have to play magnums for three hours on Halo 3 to be able to get a headshot with THAT pistol. Some of the Reach weapons I WOULD like to see in the game are the grenade launchers. Both the human and the covenant versions. Also, the needle rifle wasn't bad. It should have a bit more power though, to make up for the three shot BR. Bloom should not be a factor either. A normal rifle placed in a tight vice will fire two bullets in the same area, and the only thing that would cause those bullets not to hit the exact same spot would be weather. None of the other halo games had bloom, and it would be odd for Master Chief to have suddenly lost his ability to hold his rifle correctly. This is all just my opinion on the weapons, feel free to post your own. Trolls will be reported.

Cortana is an AI, not a person. When you see her, she is projecting herself with a hologram. A changeable hologram. In other words, she can look like whatever she wants to look like. Maybe she changed her look because she was tired of it, and she had plenty of free time to come up with something new. Honestly, I don't care what she looks like as long as she stays funny and doesn't make me want to puke.

what about new weapons in halo 4 like the one in the trailer
The Director replied to gezzerwerp's topic in Halo 4
I think that will be a type of grenade launcher. It looks like single shot, then reload like the Reach launcher. Idk anything about it though.
