It's a good try, and not a completely horrible map, but you need to fix the following things. 1. The initial spawns are pointing at each other and are within view of each other. 2. The map is small. Very small. Beef it up just a tad, move the spawns a bit farther apart. 3. Add a bit more cover for red team. They are rather exposed. I have seen worse.

More than likely the Carbine. One thing that annoyed me about the DMR is that it fires REALLY slowly, and I am able to maintain my aim while rapid firing, so the Carbine treats me well.

Well, aside from some things that so far don't make sense (i.e. how Chief ended up in what appears to be MK VI armor), I'm really enjoying it. 343i is apprehensive about making an actual "Halo movie" because most movies based on games do not do well in theatres, and are usually crap. If this does well, however, they might reconsider it.

You are right, there are going to be some mismatched things with the canon. While this disappoints me, I still look forward to the rest of Forward Unto Dawn. A couple of things that didn't add up for me would be,"Why is he wearing MKVI armor", and "how have the trainee's not heard of the covenant at the time, when the covenant had already glassed Harvest and humanity had declared war on them?" While this doesn't make complete sense, it's still an amazing story thus far. And who knows, maybe they will have an answer later in the series. Halo has usually been very good with keeping the canon airtight, with the only exception thus far being Halo Reach. A couple minor slip ups in their first time doing a live action series doesn't bother me nearly as much as what happened with Reach, so I'm willing to overlook it.

Well, they have the forge world maps that appear to have areas that have space, water, hills, grasslands, and etc. But then there are the normal maps, and from what I've been led to believe we will have more options for those than we did in Reach. Which means there will be snow and stuff too.
