  1. The average Marine is about 6' tall, so all you have to do to realize how tall Master Chief is is stand next to one and bear in mind that you are constantly slightly crouched.
  2. It also took two shots to bring down a tank in Reach as well, if the tank was undamaged. What made the Banshee in Reach OP as all hell was the unlimited evade. In Halo 3, you could evade OR boost, and there was a limit on both. You couldn't flip around the map to make it super difficult to track you with a tank. Not to mention that one of the reasons they improved the Banshee in Reach was because they added Lock-On to rockets again, but that lock-on becomes completely useless with the Banshee evading all of the time. Not to mention that it has no cooldown whatsoever and can fire WHILE evading. There really is no way to say that the Banshee in Reach was balanced, considering that there are people with 300.0 KDR's who got good at using the Banshee glitches to spawn kill.
  3. You are right, I did not read your post as I was talking directly to the OP. As for your second point, they are good at the beginning of a match, but unless you spend the time to upgrade them to their max then they are not worth it and can be taken out quite quickly by a single vulture. Now, onto your post. What you are talking about here basically makes the Locust useless so what would be the point in adding it? Let me explain. The Locust's weapon is a beam of light that fires similar to that of the Focus Rifle and Scarab Gun (H2 Easter Egg). The Focus Rifle isn't known for being good against moving targets, and that's when it's fully mobile. A Locust would have inherit difficulties tracking it's targets, and would only be useful against other vehicles, unless you crank the beam up to a .5 second kill, which would turn it into a spray and pray vehicle. Not to mention that apparently a plasma pistol overcharge would take down it's shields, making it a one shot for a tank or a two shot for rockets. Also, if you don't have the Overcharge thing there, it still makes it at least a three shot using a tank, and 3-4 shot using rockets. That's only if the shield does not regenerate. You would have to weaken the main weapon to allow the tank enough time to fire those three-four shots before getting destroyed itself, or else the Locust becomes the primary vehicle of the map. If the Locust can take out a tank before it gets taken out, then all it would have to do is move far enough away that it won't be grenaded and wait for it's shield's to recharge. On the other hand, due to it's massive size and lack of maneuverability, it would be taken out rather quickly by infantry using Plasma Pistols and Plasma Grenades, or by Rockets. You would have to make it OP to make it worthwhile to even use because of how large it is. Not to mention that Locusts are considerably larger than Wraiths, so they would either have to be shrank down, or only available in gigantic maps. Honestly, in a routine 8v8 BTB I don't see it working out. The only way it could be balanced is in a match with enough players that it could be a strong vehicle, but still be taken out. Perhaps in a 16v16 BTB, but I don't see Halo doing a match-up that large without dedicated servers.
  4. For me, all that needs to be fixed is the stupid Colosseum Walls. :/ Even with EC, those things are RARELY even, and tend to flip out more often than not. They are by far the glitchiest forge mechanic EVER. Of all time.
  5. I'm a SWAT player, so I'm well versed in Bumper Jumper lol I don't use it much anymore because I got too good with it and games became boring.
  6. Before I begin, I will point out that I play SWAT almost exclusively, and that the majority of my rank is from SWAT (I'm a Noble, by the by). Swat originated as a custom gametype in Halo CE, and became popular in Halo 2. The main goal of Swat is to take away everything that makes normal slayer what it is, until you are left with the basics. You, a precision weapon, and the potential for a crap-ton of skulls with holes in them. There have been a few variations of Swat that were really fun, but those changed weapons while leaving everything else normal (i.e. no equipment and only sprint). Some of the customized Swats include (but aren't limited to) SWATguns (where everyone has shotguns and no shields or AA's), SWipers (everyone has snipers, and again no shields or AA's), and SWAssault (everyone has an AR and a pistol, but no shields or AA's). Mind you, when I say no AA's I mean sprint is still included, but other Armor Abilities are not. SWAT with armor abilities would become an armor locking fest the likes of which you've never seen. The reason being that you can still aim while in armor lock, while your opponent cannot harm you and only has a limited idea of where your head will be. Seriously, anyone who didn't use armor lock would be labelled an idiot. And you think people who use bumper jumper are bad? Just wait until you put jetpacks into SWAT. People will be spamming it just to make them harder to hit, rather than using it to fly around. Evade in SWAT would also get annoying quickly, because it is very hard to get a headshot on a rolly polly. Not to mention that it would be pretty OP, because all you'd have to do is shoot someone once then evade into them for the pummel kill. Active Camo would be VERY OP in SWAT, and would turn the game into a camping trip from hell. Since there is no motion tracker, people could just sit in corners and camp, and no one would know they are there until they get killed. Hologram wouldn't be too bad, but at the same time Hologram seems to have the ability (when it's first cast) to block incoming pummels and headshots (and yes Twinreaper, I did test this after our last go round, and it does), so that would make it annoying as well. All in all, armor abilities in a gametype without shields would make it suck. Hardcore. And the reason that SWAT doesn't have motion tracker is because that would make camping easier than it already is, which would ruin the gametype too.
  7. Two words. Star Wars. To the OP: If I were you I would add a bit more comedy, as "serious" machinimas do not do well. You shouldn't go out of your way for a joke, but when the opportunity presents itself you should take it.
  8. The AoE for Plasma grenades is smaller, but the "kill radius" is larger. For instance, if a frag grenade landed about 5 steps away from you, it would likely damage you. A plasma likely wouldn't. However, if a frag grenade landed one or two steps away from you, it would likely take down your shields and do some health damage. A plasma grenade would likely kill you. Honestly, I preferred the H2 grenade system. There was less spam because you didn't need to throw a dozen to get a kill (exaggerated... barely) and they were effective in choke points. You also never saw a dude get pegged in the face with a frag and live through the ensuing explosion. It was nearly perfect. I say if they are going to nerf grenades, they might as well remove them completely.
  9. A couple friends and I love user submitted maps, because they are the easiest to go HLG on. Seriously though, they are. You get a jetpack and you can get off those maps so quick it's not even funny. If you are playing 1 bomb assault, this can be very lulz worthy.
  10. It could be that both creatures were based off of this. This creature is actually called "The Crawler" as well, so it's likely that it's the basis for the Promethean Crawler, but it could also be the basis for the Flood Crawler.
  11. Did you know that the Promethean Crawler might be based off of an enemy that was cut from the original Halo after Bungie started working for Microsoft? The enemy had two legs and a tail, and was supposed to run around trying to bite the player. It was also called the crawler.
  12. Welcome to the forum If you have any questions PM me or any moderator
  13. Erm... no. Not even close. If you are talking about the ending of H3, that was a slipspace portal collapsing. In Halo Reach, it was a slipspace drive overloading. Two VERY different things.
  14. Idk dude... From one of the top selling games for the X-Box to developing apps for smartphones? That doesn't exactly sound like Uphill to me.
  15. I now have nightmares about badass creepers. Thanks for that. *shudders*
  16. My first thought... Splinters. D: Still looks cool though lol
  17. Honestly, fall damage doesn't bother me. It makes sense that if you fall off of something that it would hurt you. However, dying from it is a bit... off. We've watched at least two different Spartans (SII and SIII) fall from space and barely limp afterwards, so falling off of something that's about a quarter of the height of a skyscraper and dying is ridiculous.
  18. This is a game that's going to go platinum in the week after it's release. I'm not surprised that pre-orders are filling up. I AM surprised that they haven't run out all the way though.
  19. I can honestly say that I don't see this happening. I can see it happening in Campaign, but definitely not Multiplayer. It's simply too OP. The Vulture and Locust are considered powerful even on Halo Wars, and in that game Scorpions and Wraiths are basically considered the vehicle version of cannon fodder. The Scorpion and Wraith are difficult to take out in Multiplayer, so the Locust and Vulture would be next to impossible for infantry to take out. Even if they spawned in one for each team, once one team prevails basically everyone else on the map becomes cannon fodder for the Locust/Vulture. You thought Banshee bombers were annoying? HA!

  22. No we mustn't. Fact of the matter is, Jun was ordered to escort Dr. Halsey. Dr. Halsey then ended up in the care of Fred and Kurt, without Jun. So, unless he disobeyed his commander's last orders, he's dead.
