  1. Oh really now? I don't see why. I'm of the opinion that there should be two separate playlist categories like there was in Halo 3, because playing with tryhards is annoying. If you lose to them, they say "Get on my level" or some other sort of rude remark. If you win, they rage and call you a hacker and try to bring k/d into things. "THERE'S NO WAY YOU BEAT ME WHEN YOU HAVE ONLY A 1.28 K/D MINE IS 2.6!!!" Or somesuch. Competitive gamers are annoying, and take the fun out of Halo. Video games are classified as "electronic entertainment". The key word there is entertainment. Also, I don't like Reach. To me, it's the worst Halo ever released. Why? Because it doesn't take much skill, and random kills are king. If both guys are shooting each other in the face with the same rate of fire, they should both drop. Not one drop and the other get missed due to ridiculous bullet spread.
  2. Meh, I play for fun. I don't really care if it's casual or competitive, just as long as it keeps me glued to my X-Box controller, I'm good.
  3. I think what they should do with Halo 5 is have a coop campaign that's completely separate from the main campaign. Like Spartan Ops, but a whole different story set during the same time as campaign.
  4. Have you read Primordium? Because if you haven't, I suggest you read it lol Otherwise the book is going to be spoiled for you.
  5. Oh idk. Ask the guys who got banned for AFKing firefight matchmaking. Plus, offline credits get you barely anything. And when you go back online, you don't get as many as you thought you would.
  6. Only if they play Halo exclusively lmao
  7. Sanford University lol However, the "film" in question is subject to debate as to whether or not it counts as the first moving film. It's called "Sallie Gardner at a Gallop".
  8. 1. The top five are the Burj Khalifa, Taipei 101, World Financial Center, and Petronas towers 1 and 2. 2. This info is unclear, as the USS Enterprise was usually accompanied by various other warships during battles. :/ Sorry. 3. Meditation is a good one. Or playing a relaxing game or relaxing music. Deep breaths, eating something, and exercise help too. I think you are talking about Adam Hills, but I thought it was his foot that he has a fake of lol
  9. I would probably be on guard duty, because that's what Marines do on ships that aren't dropping them somewhere lol A lot of Marines I know hate Naval combat because we feel useless. Just sort of sitting there waiting to be blown out of the water. They actually mention a feeling similar to that in the Halo novels a couple of times. There is nothing worse for a Marine than feeling completely useless.
  10. Which is exactly why we all have to do our part to make gaming good again. This includes watching what we say to others, and reporting those who don't.
  11. The only games I have ever quit out of were ones where I literally couldn't play because they were using glitches in the spawn system to get us spawn trapped. I quit, and then reported the players. However, in the entire time I've played Halo Reach, I've only quit twice. Why? Because I don't believe in it. Quitting is cowardice. If you join a game, and quit part-way through, that just shows a lack of commitment. I see people saying things like "I quit because my teammates are bad." To me this is unacceptable. How can you call your teammates bad when they can finish the game and you can't? I've ALWAYS been cursed with HORRIBLE teammates, and I've never quit because of that. I just play and try to get such a high k/d that if we lose, then I can actually say that it's not my fault. Then when the game is over, I back out of the lobby and try again. I once went 43/3 in SWAT and my team still managed to lose. Was I mad? A little bit. But that anger was dissipated by how epic I played that game. If you are going to quit out because you aren't having a good game, go right ahead. No one is stopping you. Abandoning your team (even if they are a crappy team) is not an applaudable feat though, and don't expect people to take kindly to it.
  12. Indeed, to me this seems more likely than the Didact theory. I guess we'll just have to wait for Halo 4 and the new Forerunner book to come out to see what's next.
  13. Got any pics? :3 I haven't seen them as of yet.
  14. I want Halo 5 to have both Firefight AND Spartan Ops And for there to be flood in firefight. That would be amazing.
  15. This isn't a bad idea actually, but you've got to remember that they cleansed the entire area that The Timeless One had been in, including corrupted AI modules, so it's not likely. Also, the Halo 4 enemy (combat level) has been revealed to be Forerunner Promethean Automated Weaponry (or somesuch) as well as covenant. It hasn't been revealed who's pulling the strings of the Prometheans, so your theory still has a bit of a chance!
  16. Completely right, messed up on the quote a bit though lol However, Primordium completely debunks the theory that "The Timeless One" is in Halo 4. I don't want to spoil it though, so go read it! :3
  17. Read the next book :3 lol It's called Primordium :3 This is what a lot of us thought when it first came out, but Primordium clears a few things up
  18. It takes you to an area nearby the original portal lol Darn :/ I'll edit them later then lol
  19. Unfortunately, this behavior isn't limited to gaming at all. As a matter of fact, most of the behaviors you see over Multiplayer Matchmaking these days originally started on the internet, and spread into gaming like a virus. The "Women don't belong on the internet" trend started on websites like 4chan, and eventually made it's way into gaming. The only way to stop behavior such as this is to report those who partake, unfortunately. Hatemail, countertrolling, etc is very ineffective. A ban, on the other hand, is sort of the "critical hit" that's needed to help stop things such as this. That's one of the reasons this forum is great. The moderators are constantly scouring pages, status updates, the shoutbox, and every part of the site (besides PM's) that allow members to communicate with each other to make sure everyone is playing nice. Sometimes things are missed, which is why we have a report feature.
  20. I'll be playing with both, to see which is more suitable for me, but my prediction is for the BR. According to my stats, I'm most effective at medium-long range anyway lol
  21. Welcome to the 343i.org community forum, aka the friendliest corner of the Haloverse. If you wish to learn more about Halo Lore, visit the "Halo Universe" forum. You'll find a trivia and Q&A thread pinned there. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the shoutbox, or PM me or a moderator.
  22. Don't worry, the shoutbox ban won't last forever Send Absolute Dog (I think he was the one who gave you the ban) an apologetic PM promising to never do it again. The reason for the ban is because doing things like that (i.e. flooding the shoutbox) can cause problems with the shoutbox. Also, haven't seen you around, so welcome to the site.
