  1. There have been many reports from various personnel at 343 (Including O'Conner) who have stated that it's not a girl, or even someone from previous Halo games, but rather an entirely new character.
  2. If everyone in the lobby has the DLC, the DLC takes predominance over both Forge maps and stock maps. As for more Forge maps than stock maps, that depends on which playlist you're playing.

  5. We're not 343 industries, we cannot alter the playlist. We can only offer you alternate means to completing commendations or achievements for DLC. Halo 4 currently does not offer a DLC-specific playlist. If you wish to voice your concern with official 343 industries, try posting a topic suggesting it on the Halo Waypoint Forums.
  6. With the Announcement of Halo 5: Guardians and the release of it's teaser art has come a lot of speculation about Halo 5 and descriptive reports regarding the art. (If you haven't read it yet, you should definitely check out RedStarRocket91's breakdown of the Halo 5 Teaser Art-HERE) As you can see in the art above, the Battle Rifle has a different scope. Now, if this means the Battle Rifle has been redesigned or if weapon customization is a new feature in Halo 5, we don't know yet. I would like to see weapon customization come to Halo 5 in the following ways: WEAPON SKINS I think that every loadout weapon should have at least 5 different skins to choose from. These skins should be unlocked by completing specific commendations with each weapon. Example: Battle Rifle: 1,000 Kills = New Skin 5,000 Kills = New Skin 10,000 Kills = New Skin (Gold Skin) 1,000 Headshots = New Skin related to headshots 1,000 Assists = New Skin related to assists WEAPON ATTACHMENTS Weapon attachments should be handled carefully. Weapon attachments can greatly affect the way a game is played and the outcome of that game. I feel that with weapon attachments, players can feel more involved and grow closer to their weapon. I don't think they should alter the game significantly but rather, serve more as aesthetic features. Weapon attachments should be unlocked at a rather low level, SR-5 or SR-10 and should continue to be unlocked every few levels. This should include attachments similar to the following: Red Dot Sight (Optimal for medium range) Reflex Sight (Omptimal for medium range) Iron Sights (Optimal for short range) Sniper Scope (Optimal for long range) Buttstock (Aesthetic) Grip (Aesthetic) Bipod (Aesthetic) Bayonet (Aesthetic, but should be implemented in Assasinations) WEAPON EMBLEMS AND CLAN TAGS This is a feature straight out of CoD, but one that I think Halo can benefit from. It doesn't affect gameplay at all, but again, it would be fun to see your emblem appear on your weapon. Unlocked at SR-15 or SR-20. Emblem Clan Tag Those are my opinions on how weapon attachments should be implemented into Halo 5, but I'm really curious as to how you feel about it. Do you think that weapon attachments should be added? How about weapon skins unlocked by completing commendations? Be sure to leave your thoughts on all of this below!
  7. DLC is available to play in virtually every playlist. If you are having trouble finding more players with it, perhaps you should try setting up a lobby here. Be sure to specify the DLC needed to participate, your gamertag, the time you'll be playing, and your timezone.
  8. We're not official 343i, we're simply a fan community. HaloWaypoint is 343i's official forum. You can also try sending a tweet to @BSangel asking about Halo 2 Vista's situation. As for your question, the last time I heard anything about Halo 2 Vista, was when 343 Industries announced that it's servers would be shut down on February 15, 2013. But this was extended until early 2014 and I've yet to hear more on it.
  9. An update with a plethora of new features will come to the Xbox One in June. EXTERNAL STORAGE SUPPORT With this update the Xbox One will be able to support up to two external hard drives at the same time. This will update allow the user to keep as much data as he desires on his external storage device, keeping the Xbox One's storage nice and clean. There will even be a one-step option to copy entire games to the storage device. Then whenever one needs to access this data on another Xbox, they will only have to sign in to their Xbox Live account and verify that they are indeed the owners of the content. REAL NAMES FOR FRIENDS The Xbox One allows the user to have an incredibly large number of friends-1,000 to be exact. With all these friends it can be hard to remember gamertags, which is why this June users will be able to find one another without the player's gamertag. They will be able to easily find friends using only their name. Every player will have full control of who views their real name, there will be options for sharing with all Friends, only specific friends, friends of friends, or no one. It is also important to note that no one in-game will be able to see players' real names. SMARTGLASS UPDATE Smartglass will be updated to contain all the features of OneGuide and support for Universal Remote Control. This will allow users to access all of their TV listings, channels, and App channels form their Smartglass device. Smartglass will also feature new ways of comparing stats with friends and the option of getting notifications when friends sign in or begin broadcasting a game- Just like being on the console itself. TV AND ONEGUIDE OPENING IN MORE PLACES In April specific members of Xbox Live were granted access to the features of TV and OneGuide. These features will now be available to Xbox Live members in Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK. To take advantage of this, members will only need to have an HDMI connection between the TV and XBox One. NEW BENEFITS FOR GOLD MEMBERS AND MORE Xbox Live Gold members will have access to a new hub containing Games With Gold and Deals With Gold. For more reading on June's Games With Gold Click Here. 11. The Elites could have been implemented into multiplayer without breaking canon. It's War Games, who's to say that the 'friendly' Covenant wouldn't assist the UNSC Military? They could hire Elites to particpate in War Games simulation in preparation of running into unfriendly Elites throughout the galaxy. Gameplay and Lore can, and should walk hand in hand.

  13. The plasma grenades are instant kill and you get two of them. This grenade would have further distance capabilities but would only bring down a player's shields and would only have an effect on the Spartan it hits directly. (Though it'd be pretty awesome if it bounced for the possibility of two players losing their shields)
  14. This will happen in Spartan Ops, the Champions Bundle only works in WarGames matchmaking. If this is an issue outside of Spartan Ops, you may want to try deleting and then reinstalling your DLC. If this doesn't resolve your problem try posting your issue on Halo Waypoint's forums or sending a tweet to @BSangel Hope that helps, and good luck getting it resolved!
  15. Welcome to the community! We have an entire subforum dedicated to Halo lore, fanfiction, and music here: http://www.343industries.org/forum/forum/71-halo-books-music-history-and-member-created-works/ See ya around!

  17. I love the "I need a weapon" ratings, definitely keep! Great start to the series, I look forward to more episodes. Also, here's my loadout suggestion: Name: XLR8 Primary: Covenant Carbine Secondary: Storm Rifle Grenade: Frag Armor Ability: Thruster Pack Tactical Package: Firepower Support Upgrade: Dexterity Recommended Gametype: FFA Condition: DON'T STOP
  18. I think that is a matter of opinion. Weapons tend to only be memorable if you loved using them. For people that started the Halo experience with Halo 4, I'm sure weapons like the instant kill Binary Rifle with a never-ending laser and the ultimate camper tool, the Boltshot, are highly memorable. I personally really like the Binary Rifle, it's a One-Shot Wonder, but balanced because of the low ammo cartridges and the laser it emits when scoping scoping. (And let's face it, it's next to impossible to get a snapshot with) I think Halo 4 featured many memorable weapons, UNSC, Covenant, and Forerunners alike. I'm hoping Halo 5 has its share of awesome weapons as well. [Also, how is 'Grenade Launcher' a better name than 'Scattershot' or 'Boltshot?']
  19. There are no DLC-specific playlists at this time. That being said, most playlists have DLC maps in the rotation that will appear as voting options as long as everyone in the lobby has that DLC. As for DLC-specific playlists returning, that has yet to be determined.

  21. Did you know that in 2008 when 343 Industries was still forming itself, Microsoft hired Starlight Runner Entertainment to help compile a "Halo Bible?" Every aspect of the Halo universe was to be examined, cleaned up, and made coherent for better understanding. This "Halo Bible" would prove to be very important in the development of Halo 4, and the games that would follow it.
  22. While we're not official 343i and we personally can't ensure that Halo 5 will be offline friendly, we can promote the idea throughout the Community so that 343 Industries can see it and do something about it, like possibly add Firefight in Halo 5 or make Spartan Ops available for offline play. Also, Welcome to the Community Zjet!
