  1. In this thread, I will select the ideas I deem most beneficial for Halo's future and post them here for all to see. Some of these ideas are mine, some aren't. Hopefully this thread will become a convenient place to keep up to date with the best ideas. And so it begins: 1) Hunter gun: Rip the gun off of a Hunter's arm to use like a turret, and voila. (Note: the Hunter gun was buried in H4's code.) 2) Flare gun: Fires one flare that lights enemies on fire. Good for taking down Tank flood forms. (Not a replacement for the Flamethrower) 3) Mini-Scarab: It's exactly what it sounds like. Reminiscent of the spider drones in SW: Attack of the Clones. MP counter to Mantis? 4) Needle Sniper Rifle: A possible replacement for the Beam Rifle, supercombines players with a headshot and takes three body shots to kill. Size of clip/rate of fire: undetermined. 5) Specter 2.0: Driver has a blue gun, turret launches one Plasma Grenade at a time (requires more skill than a Plasma Mortar). Two passengers, moderate boost for splatters. 6) Boltshot 2.0: Fully automatic alternate firing mode instead of overcharge. 15 normal shots, 45 automatic shots. 7) Firefight with the addition of the Flood: Oh yeah. (Most popular request!) 8 ) Fence (Forge object) : The opposite of a shield-door; it blocks players and allows bullets to pass through. (Applications in aesthetics and making maps look much bigger than they actually are) This piece looks much more natural than the glass in Forge, and it does not cause a loss in frame rate. 9) Arby!: You know you want him (winky face) 10) InstaGiB: A mode taken from NOVA 2, a game for iOS; free-for-all game type in which you have sniper rifles with unlimited clips--but you can't scope in. Sure to create some sick montage moments 11) Precipitation Forge FX: Snow, rain, hail; these would be great for Flood maps. 12) Sandbox 2.0: This Halo 3 Forge map was so simple yet so practical. It wouldn't take much time to develop and it has a lot of flat ground for terrain-savvy Forgers. New twist: you can change the environment from sand to snow, moon rock, dirt, or a giant UNSC floor so you don't have to expend your budget on those glitchy wall coliseum floors. I'll update this list every once in a while, so check back to see if your idea is listed. And in the meantime, hopefully this thread isn't removed for redundancy. Just a reminder: this isn't really a thread to post all your ideas on--go to "The Official What You Do and Do Not Want in Halo 5" thread for that. I'll be skimming around and selecting the most promising ideas, as the name of the thread implies. If you have a comment about a specific idea I included, simply type the idea number and list your thoughts. Cheers, and safe!
  2. What about a weapon that looks exactly like the Sticky Detonater--but instead of launching explosives, it can shoot a flare! The flare would light people on fire and have small but longer-lasting splash damage. All it needs is an original name...ah, yes: the Flare Gun!
  3. I just had a new idea; there should be the ODST SMG for a primary weapon and the regular Halo 3 SMG for a secondary.
  4. @PlexVanguard if two players have perfect shots with the BR and DMR, the DMR will always win. The DMR has better range, barely any bloom, ridiculous aim assist, a faster kill time, a higher kill-to-clip ratio, and better shot registration. If it has to return in Halo 5, then it must at least fire slower.
  5. I really liked the idea of Armor Lock, but it wasn't very good for gameplay.
  6. Who knows, they might even add it in Halo 4.
  7. I just hope the Xbox as fewer issues than the Xbox 360 dis at first. I need something reliable for my Halo games!
  8. I also had an idea or this...it would be kind of like Project Freelancer in Red vs Blue.
  9. I think the best idea you have there is the Flare; I think it would be better as equipment than as an armor ability. Perhaps it could have new properties, like the ability to scramble someone's HUD for a couple seconds or EMP vehicles.
  10. Yes! I really like this idea. If it is in Halo 5, then it will bring back that feeling of surprise at something new and insane but...real.
  11. So, the question is...why are you posting this on a Halo 5 forum?
  12. I want Halo 5 to come out as soon a possible, but I also want 343 to take their time and make sure everything is perfect. I'm guessing...September 2015?
  13. A Covenant Mantis doesn't really fit, but... How about a miniature Scarab? I don't know if it would be good for Multiplayer, but it would definitely be a really cool component in the Campaign. If you concentrated fire on a single leg, then that leg would be crippled and the mini-Scarab would have to do with three legs. I can just see it clinging to a rock face and raining down plasma mortars... Btw I like your drawing.
  14. I think Cortana really died--but since she is a clone of Halsey, Halsey can just make another Cortana. The catch is that it will be a blank copy; the Master Chief will reject her because she's not the same, (that's what Cortana explicitly told him in Halo 4--"It won't be me") and they will be forced to work reluctantly together and try to rebuild the relationship they technically never had.
  15. I think the Boltshot (referred to as the "BS" by some) is a dynamic addition to the game. Unfortunately, that dynamacy caused an uproar in the community as people began to carry around "pocket-sized shotguns". Should the Prometheans return, (and I think they will) the Boltshot needs to be changed. I propose a 10 shot clip; a single shot consists of three bullets, (like a scoped-in Light Rifle) and it kills in eight hits. For the second firing mode, simply hold down the trigger and the weapon will fire automatically; this will kill in 24 bullets (30 bullets in a clip). Note that these numbers are only placeholders; the numbers would have to change in order for the new Boltshot to fire as fast as the Suppressor (a weapon to weak to be a primary weapon but too powerful to be a secondary) yet still be balanced. I think this idea would make the Boltshot more balanced but just as dynamic. Post your thoughts and tell me what you think; maybe we will see this implemented in Halo 5. It's up to you!
  16. I think the Designated Marksman Rifle is a redundant, unimaginative weapon that destroys map movement and player creativity. Its semiautomatic feel can easily be replaced with the more balanced Halo CE Pistol, and its sizable clip is closely matched by that of the Battle Rifle. What do you think?
  17. Yeah, I totally agree with you guys; I kind if felt a gap in Halo 4 for UNSC weapons. Something was missing. I don't think it should replace the BR because I love that gun. I can definitely see it being implemented in stealthier missions. I think a good amount of recoil on it would decrease its efficiency at range (especially in MP)--not like that will matter if the DMR returns. Speaking pf which, I just came up with another thread idea.
  18. So you're saying you want HaloField? Go for it. Just don't call it Halo, because Halo it is not.
  19. I'm thinking of a Spectre (promotes teamwork) with the boost of a Revenant (good for splatters), the blue gun of a Ghost (anti-infantry), and a Plasma Grenade turret that launches one grenade in a slow arc. I think the grenade launcher is slightly more balanced than the mortar in that it is harder to stick people than kill them with splash damage. I don't know what to call it except for the Spectre 2.0.
  20. Definitely not. No offense to the other users, but some of the ideas on this forum are just awful. But I would like to see better customization so that different groups can be satisfied.
  21. I notice you didn't include a certain blue, holographic lady in your list of returning characters.
